Very good hardware Unable to download drivers.Raid controller is unreliable and hard to use. This is a followup evaluation. Downloads commence, slow and then quit! Refer to ASUS' forums to get a sample of the enormous quantity of owners who can not update drivers from the ASUS website. ASUS appears to be pushing proprietary download managers for some reason...?

This mobos size is modest but you get everything the large boys provide. Simple installation, all drivers installed flawlessly, all usb ports working adequately. I actually purchased mine open box, so I was sort of worried but boy was I shocked. By no means doubt the egg!Got this board with g. skill ripjaws and I7 965 and dual 470s cant be happier. Only con that I would say is that if you run two hot cards in sli they will get even hotter! either water cool em, or get a bigger board. But it! its worth every penny.

Works out of the box! Have not ""manually"" overclocked the board, no purpose to. There are a number of selections in bios for overclocking. location of SATA ports may be tricky for those installing in a Micro AtX case. I orignially bought this to install in a Micro ATX case, nevertheless the graphics card eliminated this selection.

This is my 1st full-featured motherboard so I'm nevertheless exploring all the a variety of alternatives, but it's 1 heck of an upgrade from the OEM hp and dell mobos I'm used to dealing with. Full BIOS customization possibilities for just about anything. I'm making use of it with an i7 930 and couldn't be happier. Hardware-smart, none that I wasn't aware of ahead of purchasing the board. I wish it had onboard eSATA.The Asus monitoring software seems to be seriously buggy although. It randomly gives me popups about how my method/cpu fans are operating at RPM, or my 12V rail is delivering .01 V. I haven't bothered to check on the rail, but I've had no instability and all of my fans have always been operating when the popups appeared so I believe it's just buggy software.

A excellent hunting motherboard that packs a ton of capabilities into a tiny package. USB 3. + SATA 6 GB/s + X-Fi all in a µATX form factor. Booted the first time!Q-Connector modules make motherboard removal simpler.12 diagnostic LEDs directly on motherboard that tell you system health at a glance.Very good component layout, no interference matters noted, no overheating. The audio top quality is noticeably greater than my prior motherboard's on board sound. 12 motherboard LEDs glowing at night can be slightly distracting when watching films, they can't all be turned off.Brackets for USB, 1394A, and SPDIF headers not included. Doesn't assistance EFI but or 1394B.

Really like the color layout, and the LED's. Works excellent when it's content with its memory size. Personal computer crashes from random blue screens. Most of time it's MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I checked RAM sticks, and that is the not the source. Computer is running @ 6 GB of ram. Even so soon after it crashes it reverts to four GB, and is stabilize. Laptop always has a CPU FAN ERROR at commence up. Even so the fan will operate fine. This is a common problem for this type of mother board. ASUS ought to do a update...

Ok, very first off looks great! Really like the black and red colors, BIOS is fantastic for overclocking and what-not... Software program that came with the board is also a plus. Ok, exactly where do i start off.. I did a CPU, MoBo, RAM, and Graphics card upgrade all while keeping my old hard drives and Dvd-RW...Initially the initially start off up after build worked just fine. Im operating a i7 950, Gskill 3x2gb sticks, 2x Saphire 6870's CFX with my old 150gb WD Raptor, and two 320 segates. Ran driver sweeper trying to get rid of my old mobo's drivers and my GTX 260's drivers. Thought anything went smooth, but the drivers werent totally gone.. Anyways reformatted loaded Win7 Ult 64bit, went smooth for about five minutes, now it wont handle my 3 sticks of ram, so i ran just 1 2 gig. Worked for about ten minutes then randomly shuts off. I'm pretty sure this board already oc's you'd fully grasp if you check the volts in BIOS.Anyways I took all components of put them back in the case, now the method wont even post... I dont have a case speaker so i cant check the beeps... Umm yea, monday I'm going to acquire a case speaker and hopefully come across out what the problem is.. As for other thought, i known as ASUS tech support they stated they cant assist me without a case speaker.. But the tech did hint that himself and his close friends have had tons of problems with GSKILL RAM in the past. Oh this is a different con, if youre planing on running Cfx or SLI on this board dont... Once i figure out everything, i'll most likely switch this out for a normal ATX board. The two cards are litterally a millimeter apart.. Im a gamer, and I enjoy to be ahead with technique specs for the most part. I would recommend skipping this board for a reg ATX. Method Specs:i7 950 6gigs GSkill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ 2x Saphire 6870's 150gig WD Raptor 10,0002x 320 Gig Segate DrivesOverall Verdict, Skip this board if you're preparing on 1. SLI or CFXtwo. Making use of GSKILL DDR 1600Hope this helps, I adore ASUS hopefully I can workout these difficulties!

I just got this board installed yesterday and it is my initial micro ATX board. I am seriously liking how it saves space in your tower compared to the normal ATX Form aspect. This board has a ton of capabilities and even enables you to overclock and tweak your method via a usb connector from a laptop. The embedded sound card sounds awesome! Music and games are crisp and clear. Assists when your playing games due to the fact you can hear the littlest particulars and that makes it possible for you to know exactly where your opponents are.Highly advocate! I can\'t actually see any downsides to obtaining this board. I read the reviews prior to I bought it and the failure rate and chance of getting a DOA are low. Installed this baby in a Antec 900 with:Intel i7 950 @ 3.06Asus Nvidia GTX 460 1GB DDR5 Graphics Card8GB ƔGB x two) G. Installed with small troubles. Incredibly solid board. Installed i7 950 and G.skil ddr3-1600 6-8-6-20 ram.. Had to set ram settings manually in bios (XMP profile, then 1600mhz). It automobile OCs, I would prefer it to not OC by default. It took extra time to back off those settings. I don't OC unless I need to have to and this beast does not need to have to.

Tons of capabilities readily available, uncomplicated to overclock my i7 920 in the bios with CPU level up. Most likely the greatest 1366 mATX board about considering all the functions you get. Not a con truly with the board (hence the 5 eggs) but if you are a water cooler, a word of warning: Dont attempt and water cool the north bridge and VRMs. Read Other Thoughts to see why. I purchased an EK water block and installed it following their instructions. It blew the board and had to RMA it. Apparently it is a identified dilemma and EK acknowledged their block may possibly will need some alterations due to the fact other owners had the identical concern. Not positive if they changed the design by now but beware.

This motherboard is an all around solid board for any individual looking for not only a solid LGA 1366 Platform but somthing that overclocks extremely simply. So far the only factor I dislike about the board is that the PCIE 2. x16 slots are so close together. I realize that this is a mATX board but I feel one of the other slots could have been elinated to accomedate greater cooling for the graphics card As usual New Egg was exclent. Product arrived early and was shipped really speedily.

This bard is just Awesome. It is stable and has a plethora of Overclocking settings. I am very pleased with this board. Little, when running SLI the Cards pretty much touch generating the top card ten-20c hotter depending on OC and Air management in the case. I did not deduct any eggs for this although due to the fact it is expected from a mATX board and properly documented.

No other MicroATX comes close in the number of characteristics this board provides not to mention it's one of the ideal searching motherboards I've ever noticed.Smoking fast when it works. Random 0x3D BSOD on this board sporadically, which according to Microsoft is extremely "rare". My older quadcore9550 has been running Windows 7 without having a bluescreen for more than a year at least! This is what is actually makes me mad due to the fact my older/slower rig has often been stable and never ever had any difficulties with it. And the thing that makes it hard to troubleshoot is that my new rig utilized new tech like SSD and core i7 so it's tougher to track down the issue.According to Windows 7 reliability monitor this BSOD has happened a total of four times given that I built this rig and it seems to take place randomly initially 2 bluescreens were like a month apart 10Ǜ and 10ቷ and last one's had been closer together 11ǚ and 11Ǟ. My memory is on the compatibility list and tested superior so it's probably just the board itself. If you read the notes for the bios update for this board it mentions "stability" improvements whatever that means? so it sounds like they know about it. Don't wait to RMA if you don't attain 100% stability within very first 30 days or so.

When the board essentially worked it, it worked excellent. As advertised. Shut the personal computer off once and board would not energy back on , have read on asus forums that a lot more and more folks are getting the exact same issue as me - (Will not post fans power on for much less then a second). I RMA'd the initial board I received thinking i shorted it, but the subsequent board i received in the mail replicated the dilemma and refuses to post even one time. I have bread boarded , tryed alternate PSU - Video cards - 1 Stick of Ram at a time, with each boards but they each refuse to power on. Will be contacting Asus Tech support in the morning to see if I can get this resolved. All in all between shipping this back for RMA and probly obtaining a refund I'll be losing about ๖ just from buying this board.

This motherboard is just amazing, I use it with I7 950, GTX 580, Revo Drive x2 80gb and its a bulldozer. ...might be the configuration of the PCI-e slots... I dont know if its a cons., but my GTX 580 block the Pci-e x4 so just be careful with the dimensions, number of slots offered (pci-e x4/x8/x16) and the number of USB pinout.

Pretty Just put this mobo in, and had to place a fan on best of my best graphics card to blow air on the North Bridge, which was hitting 95C before I shut the program down. Asus tech support says ignore it (until bios shuts it down), but I seriously doubt they will replace my system. A fast Google search (and a search of the Asus forums) indicates that I should replace the Asus thermal compound on NB and SB. This is data I could have utilised a couple of days ago. if the board worked as advertised, I would be all over it to save 2 weeks of down time....But...SLI is also unstable. RMA plaease ASUS? How's about some cost-free shipping and descent thermal compound too? Negative all the way. Could have burned my residence down, but didn't.

Excellent value even though it's the smaller board. 5.1 audio is too rare to pass up. Ready for USB 3.. BIOS is a beast to get set effectively for 64 bit Windows 7 but I think I have it down. I would have gotten the bigger a lot more costly board had I identified better. It's a excellent factor I don't use numerous cards.

It's a slick looking board and takes a lot of RAM. It's simply overclocked. Really compact and has a lot of capabilities. I'm pushing this to more than four.1Ghz at 19ꓨ and the NB is hot. It doesn't leave a lot of space if you have a bigger gfx card and a smaller case. I have a nzxt vulcan. The space concerns isn't so a lot due to the board. It has, in part to do, with the case I'm utilizing. The board is incredibly compact though. I would advise taking the NB off and replacing the thermal paste with something a bit superior.

Looks terrific. Really like the appear of the Northbridge and the color scheme (red and black). Three out of the six DIMM slots are dead. At very first I thought it was the RAM modules but I tested the slots one by 1 making use of just one stick of RAM. All of the black DIMM slots are dead. I could not get it to POST. The red slots are fine. I have a total of 12GB ram Ɣ,four, two, two) and it kept reading it at a max of 8GB. Also, I noticed that the Newegg ship box was all deformed when I received it from UPS. I don't know if that did some thing to it for the duration of transit.Just did an RMA and hopefully the replacement is A Okay. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,We apologize for the concerns you are experiencing with the black DIMM slots on this motherboard.
