Incredible Board. Wonderful OC'ing capabilities, Nice Specs, and it is stunningly handsome. I'm glad I did not pull the trigger on the Rampage II Gene and waited a weekend for this to come out and buy it. Excellent for my gaming machine for SCII. None as of now. Incredibly quickly, compact and still effective, straightforward to assemble, and lots of room for RAM. Not to mention, SLI.Adore it! The manual is a little misleading. They never ever talked about that you had to spot the RAM in the EVEN channels in the mobo, rather of the ODD. So I purchased new RAM, since the RAM I previously had was NOT listed as a compatible stick (which is was), only to uncover out, I had my RAM in the incorrect slots. But over all I really like this board. Excellent quality. Knowledgeable buyer support, and great for gaming. Specially when paired with the i7 950 core.

NONE This motherboard shorted out after 4 months, what makes this worse is that ASUS consumer service keeps placing me on hold and ignoring me for hours until I hang up. What undesirable business practice. When I lastly asked for a supervisor, she said I'd have to wait for one particular to contact me, which of course never happened. This Mobo is supposed to have a three year warranty but they won't replace it so I guess it's useless. ASUS is the worst business I have ever delt with, I will in no way buy 1 of their goods once again. Never ever obtain anything ASUS unless you buy the Newegg warranty.

My son wanted to update his Pc with the release of Starcraft II - Wings of Liberty final month (the machine specifics are noted under in the "other thoughts" section). Starting with a new case (Antec 300), we constructed a single together from the ground up. The resulting Computer exceeded expectations. We located the ASUS manual to be valuable. When we had a query that we could not find an answer to, we located the ASUS and XFX (video card) technical men and women to be friendly and knowledgeable. The motherboard comes with a Crossfire x-bridge which doesn't perform with the two XFX HD 5750s that are installed on the motherboard. Had to obtain an HIS HFCBC4065 to deal with that process. Excellent-searching board in a clear-sided case. Random blue screens - machine_verify_exception fault. Making use of authorized ram - Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D Ɠ X 2 gig). i7 - 950. PCPowerCooling 750 power supply. Re-seated all components and connectors, such as ram and CPU. No enable. Swapped energy provide - very same issue. Re-installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit three instances - similar thing. CPU temp = 36 degrees C, so it's not an overheating issue. About to go crazy! Memtest ram for hours - no errors. Running 1600 memory at 1333, 9-9-9-24 at 1.61 volts - still blue screening. CPU at stock speed (default settings). Intel CPU strain test - no problems. Not positive what to do now. Had for 2 months now, so can't RMA to Newegg. May have to but different board (not Asus) and start out all over. Had constantly applied Intel boards with no challenge. Will never ever obtain an Asus board once more! Any thoughts?

* No problems w. installation or boot, detected all hardware completely* Colour scheme appears great* Easy and incredibly functional BIOS * Northbridge runs much hotter than I expected. I have a CM Sniper case with lots of ventilation, but if I turn the fans down - not off, just down - the NB clears 60 degrees at idle.* The bundled computer software is prone to error when measuring my CPU tempurature, both too higher and also low. The readings in the BIOS appear to be just fine. My heat problem with the Northbridge (which might be distinct to my board) indicates that, despite getting usually happy with the board, I would only advise it to folks with effectively ventilated instances.

USB 3., SATA 6, SLI or Crossfix, X58 chipset, triple channel RAM assistance* (also a con, see beneath), BIOS tweeker (one of the finest I've noticed, literally set about any timing). Also has a reset button on board to stay away from pulling the CMOS battery after a terrible BIOS setting is created. Biggest con by far is that this board has troubles with triple channel memory. At first I tried reseating the processer so that all 6GB of my OCZ (Asus advised from the motherboard manual) triple channel kit would study again. It worked, reset my Computer once more and it nonetheless worked. Powered off and the next morning attempted once again, only 4GB readable. I attempted to RMA the RAM because a single chip seemed to not study regardless of how quite a few other DIMMs have been employed. The RMA'd RAM had the very same problem, so I RMA'd the board. The new board recognized the memory for two days and now only 4GB is study. This board in my recommendation is too unstable for use with triple channel memory. With a single memory module it worked okay. Also be ready to adjust the RAM timings and voltages in the BIOS to get their manufacturer recommended speeds. I seriously wanted this motherboard to perform out, but it's like obtaining a six cylinder engine at complete cost and only ever acquiring 4 cylinders to perform.

This motherboard has fairly considerably all the functions. Has a fantastic bios layout.(would be 5 stars if the board worked correctly and I didn't have to debug it myself.) 1) I have purchased 2 of these boards from Newegg, about a week apart. The 1st board would give wacky CPU temp readings about 10% of the time. From really high, to 0C, to negative temps, to stuck temps. The 2nd board does the similar thing 90% of the time. Tested each boards with 2 different Intel i7 920 D0 stepping CPU's (both verified working in other systems). Tried 2 diverse brands of ram (OCZ, and Corsair). Tried the default 501 bios the boards came with... Attempted the latest 0602 bios. Tried clearing the bios after the boards gets into it's wacky state (doesn't clear the dilemma).Immediately after filing an help ticket via Asus's web-site, right after going back and forth with 2 various men and women, I was told to RMA the 1st board. Which I did. Ordered a 2nd board so I have less downtime when waiting for the RMA...both boards exhibit these difficulties. What are the odds of two boards being defectiveɸ) This board is advertised as have a bios flash capability over ROG Connect. It doesn't. Asus help forums suck. They are like a ghost town... why bother getting them if persons don't know the hardware, or can't aid you? There is one other guy who has posted on there forums that has the similar problems. I'm confident there are others who don't post as well.I plan to send back the 2nd board for my RMA, as that one is the worst 1. Only works ten% of the time. I'd like it to be sent back to Asus so they can place a Intel i7 920 cpu in and and conduct tests using cpu stressing programs (Prime 95, OCCT, ect).I have also contacted Nuvoton (a spin off of Winbond), for the W83667HG datasheet. The W83667HG is a Super I/O chip with temperature monitoring and fan handle. It's the chip employed on Asus Rampage III Gene, and a lot of Asus boards. I program to check the cpu's thermal diode voltage drop at the particular pin on the W83667HG to verify the chip is really acquiring a voltage input from the thermal diode. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,We apologize for the issues you are experiencing with the CPU temp. readings on this motherboard. I would like to have you send this board to me for testing and analysis into the root bring about of this challenge. Furthermore, I will pre-test a replacement board to assure that the CPU sensors report correct readings with the i7-920 as properly as other 1366 CPUs. Please speak to me at OC_Help@asus.com and reference case number NE0708. Please also contain your technique configuration such as memory kit part number and PSU model.Thank you & Ideal Regards,ASUS Help Group

somewhat operates. OC fine if the RAMs perform. RAM detection and stability concern. I have Corsair TR3X6G1600C9 Ɠ x 2G) RAM which the manual says supported. The XMP profile does not perform with the board. It boots fine, but run Prime95 - blue screen. Manually setting the RAM to 9-9-9-24 with 1600 - run Prime95 - bluescreen.Following cold reboot, only 4 GB are detected. For some reason, it seems to detect 6 GB 90% time when set to 1066 MHz with auto detection. I am doing no overclocking, I just want to have my system detect all of the RAM and run stable. A different blue screen showed up yesterday with MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. I've attempted lots of diverse approaches to have the technique detect all 6GB RAM, but it never worked out. I'm seriously thinking about either return or getting replacement of the board. Also, the black slots are not functioning. I'm not positive it is since none of the red slots are occupied. My understanding is it should be capable to detect any RAM in any DIMM slot. Attempted black slots, it never ever worked.

lots of functions. apparently some of these boards have a warm boot situation (I've discovered a handful of other individuals who have this same challenge). also, in all probability because I've got a slightly defective board, I can't change a single thing in the bios devoid of it shutting down (not even the order of boot drives). So all the cool features? yeah I don't have access to 'em. asus support web page is a mess. and they're help in basic is not so great, and extremely slow to get back to you. on best of that, who the hell ever heard of obtaining to FAX a form in for an sophisticated RMA? how a lot of men and women have fax machines just sitting around?

Excellent motherboard that overclocks effortless and has everything running at complete speeds. The bad: if you program on SLI DO NOT Get i have 2 GTX 285s in SLI and they sit appropriate on prime of eachother so the top rated card blows all the hot air appropriate back on it self and i cant play any games with no it overheating. You can add fans on to ur case to make it function but its just such a pain and its so frustrating. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,Due to the fact that this is a Micro ATX motherboard, there is no room for dual slot spacing. Given that mATX boards are more compact, they will produce far more heat but this can be remedied with fans and appropriate air flow.Ideal Regards,ASUS Support Group

This board has every thing I wanted and I lovedthe style and layout. If you have a windowed case youd appreciate the colour scheme and heat snyc art. The Asus tech support is speedy and straight to the point, and as generally the good consumer service you count on from newegg. Simple basically return with preprinted UPS slip. This board had the notorious CPU QLED which fundamentally is a error light for a element if you cant boot. I attempted the usual ram swaps, 1ram, no ram, cpu reinstall, measured out my new 750w psu to ensure all the connections had been acquiring correct voltage. Asus speedily stated following a short problems shoot that its either my psu or mb and she mentioned mb. All round had this MB not arrived DOA I would give this 5 eggs. I chose not to deduct an egg for the closeness of the PCI express cards given that this board is a mini and thats what Id count on from a smaller sized board.

State of the art. Many valuable capabilities. USB3 and SATA3. Helpful Manual. Easy to use assistance pages. I am quite content with the outcome and accomplishment starts and ends with the motherboard. It was simple to assemble. The supplied manual addressed almost all of the concerns that came up. This program responds almost immediately in all methods. The kids graphics intensive games are no sweat. Applications "opens" are all neglible time. On board Audio has problems. Memory support may not be what one expects given specs. But it would be far more useful to point out the troubles: I knew from online reviews that the audio had cross talk/interference difficulties. That is verified. I bought with the understanding that I may possibly be adding a sound card. In all probability will. If you put headphones on it is easy to hear the crackling. It also appears that they in no way got a single application to operate all the knobs of their audio. You can get to all controls by using a combination of VDeck, SoundBlaster, and THX panels. This is quite unusual. It is seems that they turned the expert functions off in VDeck for this release. Previously a single could handle all audio functions with this system. I did write their support but they never straight answered my concerns. English translations difficulties maybe. This was my 1st develop from scratch. ASUS Rampage III Gene, Core i7-950, A-Data DDR3 1600MHz Ɠx2GB), Vital C300 SSD, and ASUS CuCore Radeon HD 5770. The other situation is the supposed 1600 memory support. If you set auto in BIOS it seems to only go to 1066. I am not an overclocker and favor to know my method is rated to run at the speed it is set. In any situation I manual set the memory to the full speed of the sticks. At this point the program asked if it could adjust voltages for the new speed. When I chosen "no" it still adjusted the mem bus voltage and raised into the "yellow" area. Too higher for my conservative nature. I lowered it manually and the method is running just fine at the default voltages. I'll say once more, really nice motherboard. I created the ideal selection. I seldom meet electronics with no some problems but I just wanted you to be conscious (and not beware).

They all obtain power but dont recognize flash drives, mouse, keyboard, and so forth. I know they acquire energy since they charge my phone. If my USB ports worked Id give it five stars. Great board at a decent cost This is the second time I bought this board. I am partial to Newegg and also ASUS. The difficulty is the LAN didn't function. In fact, apart from not operating, it wasn't even getting recognized in the bios. I was about to RMA it but tried ASUS tech assistance. As it turns out this is a known bug. During the testing of the motherboard the testing software turns off the LAN. Updating the bios did the trick. This problem was on the second board I bought in March. So this news is present.
