Good Product
Cons: None so far.
Pros: It is a good router with a strong signal. Easy to setup. |

DD-WRT compatible
Cons: None yet
Pros: DD-WRT compatible. To flash, follow the very specific instructions to the letter. I did not and it bricked. Fortunately there are un-bricking instructions that work fine. Comment:
Very cheap g router that runs dd-wrt micro. Nothing not to like about that. |

Not what I expected
Cons: Once flashed, I spent 3 hours trying to configure it to me host router. Finally found two tutorials on Youtube that had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. The Asus router kept dropping signal every 5 minutes. Tried 2 different host routers and it keep doing the same thing.
Pros: Good price, DD-WRT compatible. Some what easy flash guide. Comment:
Called Newegg and set me up with a replacement in not time. Thanks Neweegg! Hopefully the next one works... |

Good based G router
Cons: Limited internal memory, so can only run "small" limited versions of dd-wrt. OTOH, those builds have the core features most router users will want.
Pros: Inexpensive, can run dd-wrt Comment:
Set it up as a client bridge under dd-wrt so it repeats wireless signals. Works great and has been stable. |

verizon dsl and asus router
Cons: had to call my friend who is a networking tech after 3 days of not being connected to the net. flashed to ddwrt no problem. this router is not user friendly with ddwrt. you have to know what you are doing or your in for a lot of trouble. i went and set up my friends network in 45 minutes connecting his wireless printer, laptop and desktop so i know what im doing but i couldnt get this working without real help. my old dell laptop cant keep connected for some reason.
Pros: works well with my acer laptop, my desktop, and blackberry phone Comment:
its a great price for a router but if your not savy i would stay away from this product. i thought i was and i surrendered! i have a old netg_@r router that lasted me many years that is definitely more user friendly but i heard so many good things about this router and it was low in price i decided to get it. |

EXCELLENT for DD-WRT (Poor otherwise)
Cons: As an aside, if you're NOT going to run DD-WRT, DON'T buy this router. This is clearly meant ONLY for those that plan to open the box and immediately flash with DD-WRT. The included "firmware" looks unfinished and is essentially featureless and probably not even tested well, apart from the firmware flashing function. It's there to provide an easy way to reflash, period. To expect it to actually function as your primary home router... well... I wouldn't.
Pros: Okay, less than $30 new for a DD-WRT router that you can flash to DD-WRT with a couple straightforward clicks? Amazing. It took about 2 minutes total to flash this thing and get DD-WRT running and it runs absolutely fabulously. I'm going to get several more and redo my entire infrastructure. They're cheap, fast, run cool, and have no signal flaws running DD-WRT. This is really an amazing deal and I'm glad some manufacturer finally did it (kudos to Asus). Comment:
Overall, really an amazing deal for those interested in DD-WRT. Hands down the best deal on a piece of wireless equipment I've ever been offered. |

Buy one!!
Cons: I delt with my old unreliable router for months while this great cheap one existed without me knowing.
Pros: Don't even read the reviews. Just buy one of these. I bought this router to replace an one wireless B that was giving me trouble. Runs my iPhone, wii, 2 laptops, and backup pc with no problems at all. Always on, always works, never needs reset like my other G router. I transfer alot of data with this router and it never has a problem. I should mention, I didn't even try the stock firmware. Flashed it immediatly with dd-wrt lite as everyone here suggested. Stop reading, add to cart. Comment:
Should just come stock with dd-wrt to save everyone the trouble of flashing. |

Great Economy Router
Cons: None that I can find.
Pros: Easy configuration, good speed, nice web interface Comment:
Newegg shipped the router almost immediately. May be because I am a regular customer. Plugged it in right out of the box and everything worked as promised. Replaced an old D-Link that was on it's last legs. Without any mods the Asus was approximately 40% faster with more reliable wireless connections. Then the good part. Upgraded the firmware with DD-WRT following the instructions of another Newegg reviewer. Boosted the tx power to 100 mW. Now it really rocks. If you don't need an N router yet, for sure this is the way to go. |

2 Xbox 360 + WDS network = :)
Cons: The only thing to note is that you have to use the DD-WRT Micro build instead of the full on version. Please make sure you can do what it is you want to do with the micro version of the firmware before purchasing.
Pros: See previous reviewer comments on how to flash, this review is entirely based on DD-WRT being used as the firmware. I have two Xbox 360's and needed them both to be able to see Live AND play via system link over a wireless network. By setting up a WDS network at the house my computers, netbooks, and xboxes can all use the internet without an issues. The routers have survived a couple of Halo parties without worries, and more importantly without game lag :). Comment:
Newegg's turnaround is always the best. 3 days from order to the door step with standard shipping. |

Can't Beat the Price
Cons: Only supports DD-WRT micro.
Pros: It supports DD-WRT and it was very easy to flash the firmware, just follow the instructions that everyone else has posted. This router is well worth it's price. Comment:

Nice Router
Cons: None, so far.
Pros: Recently purchased a netbook and wanted an easy to set up, good quality router for use at home. This one, so far, meets the criteria. Setup took about 5 minutes and was super easy. The only "glitch" was the need to reset my Comcast modem. After that it works perfectly. Comment:
Thanks, as always, to Newegg for their fast shipping and reasonable prices. |

great router for the price
Cons: stock antenna not as good as the one that came on the 'U' version of this router.Current version of the firmware needs to be dropped back to an earlier version in order to flash DD-WRT
Pros: runs DD-WRT (micro)semi-straightforward to install DD-WRTinexpensivesmall / light (good for travel router)makes a *really* inexpensive bridge Comment:
1) go to asus.com - get 2.0.0.8 or earlier.2) rename the "version" part of the filename to be something larger than whatever's currently on your new router3) firmware update, pointing at the "looks like newer" firmware4) firmware update, using dd-wrt micro (no need to use the special for-asus TRW file)5) setup dd-wrt |

Nice router
Cons: The AC adapter doesn't support 220V.
Pros: Setup is easy. Supports WEP and WPA security. Comment:
I'm using it overseas. The AC adapter doesn't support 220V or I would've given it 5 eggs. I wish descriptions of items include this information. |

Great Little Router
Cons: Stock Firmware uselessLooks pretty cheapNot enough flash to run full DD-WRT (although I don't really care)
Pros: Works Well with DD-WRTCheap (especially after rebate)Connects to computer much faster than my Linksys and Netgear routers (probably thanks to DD-WRT) Comment:
When I plugged this in, I instantly flashed DD-WRT onto it. Pretty smooth upgrade process. However, I couldn't get it to work correctly. Everything seemed to work fine, but I couldn't get an internet connection. I searched the Internet for a while, but no luck. I was about to send it back to the manufacturer when an idea popped into my head. The address that my DSL modem had assigned was in the range assigned to the local subnet by the router. As soon as I changed this, everything started working. Since then, it has been smooth sailing. Works like a dream. More features than any other router I've ever had before. |

DNS...doesn't
Cons: DNS doesn't. I spent a lot of time trying to get this to function, then realized that the laptop wasn't getting the correct DNS IP address. Once I added the DNS from the ISP to the laptop DNS list, it connected just fine. I was getting the routers's IP as DNS, but that doesn't seem to work with this router.
Pros: Price...many features Comment:
Seems like such an easy problem to fix. I uploaded the latest FW and that didn't help. I'm still using the router with the DNS info on the clients. |

ASUS WL-520GC Wireless G Router 802.11B/G 54MBPS 4PT 10/100 LAN
Cons: The interface to configure this router is horrendous and it seems like every time you change any setting it needs to be reset.
Pros: Cheap and works relatively reasonably. Comment:
It's not gigabit! |

Don't listen to "justuselinux"
Cons: Could be slightly better looking, but hey, I'll take functionally stable over flash and disappointment: I'm looking at you Linsys!
Pros: Great value for money. Got this router on sale for a song. Supports DD-WRT (though we ALL should know that you have to load it yourself). Fast and stable. Comment:
It seems that some people bought this router expecting it to come preloaded with DD-WRT due to the label "DD-WRT Open Source support". This just indicates that the router has the ability to be flashed to the DD-WRT firmware due to the hardware used on the router. However it is important to note that this router only has 2mb of flash memory, therefore you must use DD-WRT Micro. There are threads and guides that go over exactly what is needed to flash this router to awesometown. |

flawless dd-wrt
Cons: none!
Pros: - dd-wrt support adds functionality found in much higher priced devices- simple to install dd-wrt if you follow the instructions; see other thoughts below- built in firmware bad flash recovery via hardware button- asus quality & newegg service! Comment:
dd-wrt install guide: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/ASUS_WL-520GCRemember to follow the instructions verbatim!! Especially the part about WAITING 5 MINUTES after flashing the router with the dd-wrt firmware before removing the power! |

No problems
Cons: It's not the best looking out there, so I won't use it as part of my house decoration for sure :)
Pros: I had it for the past 6 months and it worked always fine. I simply set it up and used it. It is actually smaller than it seems from the pictures. Comment:
I see many negative reviews here. I guess it's a hit or miss kind of thing, like most electronic. |

Great Wireless Router
Cons: Could not setup the pw and other settings via Windows 7 automatically so I had to go with the software that came with the router. The software installation was a breeze so it wasn't that big of a problem.
Pros: Fast speed even when I'm playing games and my wife is watching videos on youtube, doesn't drop connection, good range for my apt. Comment:
I have my desktop and my wife's laptop both networking through this router wirelessly and have not had a problem after 2 weeks unlike the piece of cr*p Belkin I had that stopped working after 4 days! |

ASUS WL-520GC Wireless G Router 802.11B/G 54MBPS 4PT 10/100 LAN
Cons: doesn't support full dd-wrt because memory is small.
Pros: flashed with dd-wrt (micro, I think) and turned into wireless bridge. must do 30/30/30 reset after the flash and everything is peachy. Comment:
