better than the onboard sound card. it will convert analog to DTS useing the optical cable(not integrated) i have to say this card sucks for gameing. iv tryed playing games with a bunch of diffent settings. the onboard i have sounds alot much better when playing games. the low profile set up makes it hard to plug in nicer three.5 mm jacks.

I liked that it could be formatted to low profile (needed for the vista box). And that it has a TOSLINK for digital sound. I have 1600 dollar speaker method and i was unable to hear the distinction :( but i may well have poor hearing and i think there speaker systems were much better then mine.
