Comment:
I don’t generally write critiques. You never ever know how credible the source. But, I do notice the number of reviews and that is crucial to me. I couldn’t let this product go with no making a mention. I just received my new Antec case via UPS. When I answered the door the box had been left and the delivery individual was gone- I heard the truck starting as I looked at my delivery. I decided to do a Micro-ATX develop. Electronics really should be little and I am tired of the Mid Tower ATX Server circumstances. I was in shock at what I was seeing. I have purchased a lot of stuff through Newegg and had by no means noticed a box in that poor of a shape. The box was open and in tatters – UPS can be tough on a piece of cardboard. I have never ever RMAed in the past and wasn’t searching forward to the approach. I began to pull the case from the box and noticed there wasn’t a scratch on it anyplace and all the stuff was there getting been attached to the case. Thanks, Antec for caring since I do. None that I see. Have a good day.

I wanted some thing modest to carry and one thing that didn't appear ridiculous with lights, windows, body kit, and so on...With this case you have to do your homework especially if your are builing a high finish pc. Power supply length is a biggie. I am not working with a cd rom drive as all my games are on steam. I bought a zalmann hdd heatpipe cooler for my difficult drive so it moves it up a slot in the best compartment. It is a nice looking case and it has what applied to be a decent style for routing cables. I have employed this case for about 10 different builds, all with superior outcomes. Then, they determine to alter factors. As if the mATX midtower marketplace is so lucrative that they require to make changes. They decided to move the hole where you route the power cables by means of to the side. Even so, they didn't extend the already brief ATX power cable. It will not reach any motherboard's connector. They also decided to further mock me by producing a "slot" exactly where there applied to be a port for routing the cables. This "slot" is not wide sufficient to fit the ATX energy cable. Had it been wide sufficient, this wouldn't be a problem. Thank you, Antec. Now I get to modify 1 of your situations. Trust me, this WILL be the last time.

The reason I give it 3 stars is simply because the energy supply is functional and the case does what it was developed to do. It was my fault for getting lazy and not looking for other choices. I was expecting a lot much more excellent for the cost. Antec makes superb instances. I've bought several of their 300 and 300 illusion instances as well as Antec power supplies. I didn't see their good quality in this case or power supply. Also cable management is terrible as it is with all small circumstances. For this definitely ridiculous price you can get an excellent case and energy supply 鸴W+) from top brands including Antec. I still cannot realize why this expenses so significantly. It was one of the biggest regrets I've had since I began developing computers.

Although previous reviews are correct in specific points, they all miss the major factor: this case presents a mixture of attributes that you won't find in ANY OTHER CASE on the industry (you can trust me on that - I went by means of ㅖ situations)Ʌ) The case is actually smaller and yet can residence a 120mm fan on the back, two fans on the front panel and 1 1 the side door.two) Top top quality, .8mm SECC steel construction - just try and uncover a MicroATX case that thick. There are three other models, all of them subparthree) 380W energy supply is enough to power a leading-of-the-line graphics card (I know, I know you all read that they need to have 500W+, but I in fact measured the energy consumption with a watt-metter).4) 80Plus certified power supply will save about $xx a year, which you can invest on a much better DVD drive, speaking of which the only models that will fit are produced by LiteOn and some Asus models - see the poor guy's laments in the earlier assessment).five) Did I mention that the case is seriously, truly little? Not really a con, but I ran out of room in the "Pros" section: the case is short and squat. It looks practically like the super contemporary cube case (and has smaller volume, by the way). This no doubt will make routing the cables a challenge, to say the least. Nonetheless, once overcome, you will be very pleased with the results. The case delivers cooling overall performance rivalling case twice the size and such is perfectly appropriate for creating a high performance, space-saving and clean searching gaming machine. When you put all the components in, the case will have a good hefty feel to it and even when fans spool up will not resonate or vibrate. I came down very harshly on the prior iteration of this design, mostly mainly because I didn't appreciate the forcing of an SFX power supply on you and the recommend placement of challenging drive. The new style addresses these shortcomings and then some. And indeed, the extremely first reviewer is correct in that the marketplace for MicroATX circumstances hasn't been incredibly lucrative thus far, and absolutely nothing stops Antec from pulling the plug on this 1 - that is precisely why you really should get 1 (or better two) even though you can.

Included 380W 80Plus Certified Power Supply, Silicone Vibration-Dampening HDD mounts, Good Fit and Finish, 120 cm 3-Speed Rear Fan, Dual-Chambered Case Space, Small Compact Size, QUIET! The mother board power lead did not reach the connector - However, there is a lengthy rubber piece among the PS chamber and the MB chamber that can be removed. I cautiously was able to thread the 20Ʋ connectors by way of this space. The only factor I didn't like about this case was that the HDD mounting space in the five.25 bay is useless if you have a CD/DVD-RW. The excess cables wouldn't enable for a great deal airflow IF you could even fit it all in that space! The HDD mount on the bottom of the case is nice, and doesn't interfere with the PCI-E Video or PCI Sound Card. I am extremely impressed with this case and would recommend it to anyone creating a Micro-ATX machine. I had plenty of room to spare in mine with a Gigabyte GA-965GM-S2, Intel Core 2 Duo e6600, CORSAIR XMS2 2GB ƒ x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), SAMSUNG 18X DVD±R DVD SATA Model, Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS 320GB, EVGA 7600GT w/Zalman VF700 AlCu, and three.5" External Media Reader.

Size, PSU, build good quality, fan speed control, front fan that blows over the difficult drive slot (very critical with ɭTB drives), side fan slot. Did I mention size? Price. :)Weight - it is 2kg too heavy.Lower (main) difficult drive slot makes the lowest PCI/e slot useless. The tough drive slot should have been about an inch towards the front of the case. I think side-loading drive cage with slots for two drives would have been fantastic (the case is really wide, so this ought to not be a difficulty). The front LEDs are ridiculously bright. I think I will acquire additional of these to lighten up my (future) basement. I have 1 two.five" challenging drive placed in the best compartment with only one screw holding it in location. If anybody from Antec is reading this, here's an concept - make the tough drive slots 2.five" friendly. The perfect case would have a drive cage holding several hard drives with the front fan blowing over the cage.

Superb PSU. Typical Antec good quality. Many robust cable tie downs. Nightmare to function in due to cramped space. PSU cables far too lengthy with no perfect location to tuck them except under the optical drive. Limited SATA power connectors. Front is incredibly plasticky. Usually fragile power/reset/HDD light wires. Ordered a dozen of these cases for new office PCs without realizing they had been Micro-ATX; luckily, we also ordered Micro-ATX mobos.

Really solid, compact case. Effectively built like most Antec circumstances. Understated good looks. Superior power supply. Extremely quiet case if you are realistic with your components. Can hold a fairly significant video card (not that I'd advise it) - your limitation is more the 380w PS, not the space inside. Not as good case for serial upgraders. Once you have completed your construct, you will not want to have to mess with it incredibly frequently since space is so tight. The power supply is solid but I wish it came with much less connectors - realistically, there are way more connectors on the PS that you could possibly use in a case this size and fewer connectors would be less complicated to route inside. Just finished a create for my son making use of this case and a range of new and leftover parts. As lengthy as you realize the limitations of a case this size, it works quite well. Realistically you do not want to attempt and put a lot more than a mid-range video card, single tough drive and single DVD/CD in this case. If you mount your difficult drive at the bottom of the case and install a front 92mm fan (not included), you will get fantastic HD cooling. However, if you use a vidcard with a two-slot cooler the cooler will almost touch the top of the tough drive. The Sapphire 4670 I applied just barely fits but works fine. The I also utilised an Arctic Cooling Freezer 2 for the CPU; its fits but is actually tight. In hindsight I in all probability could have utilized the stock Intel cooler, given that there is a side duct for the CPU it most likely would have cooled just as effectively and been a bit less complicated to function about. For excellent advice on developing with this case, check out its review on SilentPCreview.com.

This is an update to the "Good case" review from just before.Due to the fact the lower disk slot was blocking the PCI slot of my mainboard, I removed the drive holder thingy and then drilled 4 holes in the bottom of the casesuch that two drives can be placed "standing" proper in front of the (front) fan and hence the fan blows over them. Of course, appropriate now I have only 1 drive, but the temperature on my 1.5TB drive went from 42C to 34C (checked by way ofSmart)! No far more cons for me. I am planning on obtaining much more of this 1. Suggestions to Antec for a successor to NSK3480Ʌ) Keep the dimensions, but decrease the weight.two) Bigger holes for the wires. I am not too positive regardless of whether the two-compartmentconcept works or not.three) Construct a drive cage as close to the front of the case as doable so that it doesnot block the last PCI slot.4) Ideally, the drive cage should accept three.five" or 2.5" drives.5) Ideally, the drive cage need to accept atleast two drives.

Comment:
I was searching for a uATX case that featured very good ventilation, and this fit the bill. The appearance is sleek, if a little austere. Opening up the case is tool-less: there are two thumbscrews on the top plate, and the side panels can be quickly lifted away when the best is removed. The rest of the case is not tool-less, which I consider a plus. The silicone HD mounts are very nice. Build quality is outstanding. Antec has partitioned this case right at the bottom of the power supply and the five.25" bays. It's fully solid except for a modest cutout (that I didn't really feel like I could force the ATX power connector via.) Most of the power cabling gets routed out the side, which isn't too bad as soon as you flip the PSU so that the ATX power cable reaches the mobo /sarcasm/. (If your ATX connector is near the CPU socket, you probably won't have trouble.) At least it's achievable to flip the PSU; Antec has provided both sets of mounting holes. The depth of the 5.25" bay is one DVD case height + .five", minus an inch or so for the cable bundle. I wouldn't want to attempt to put a PATA drive in this case. Antec throws in a couple of tie-downs for cable management. Expandability is limited; the main HD mount is on the bottom of the case, and the second one is in the lower five.25" bay. The ventilation may be reasonable, considering that PSU draws all its air by means of that section of the case. Or it may be doable to mount the HD upside down, giving up the floppy bay. Finally, the case is a bit louder than I would like. The "low" setting on the 120mm fan is still loud compared to fans like the Nexus, and the PSU fan is 80mm so of course it ends up becoming noisier than a l20려mm fan. If you're searching to construct a "silent" uATX PC with this case, anticipate to invest some additional on a quieter power suppy and rear fan.

Cons:short on space for installing blu-ray optical drive, need a 90 degree sata connector not provided

Pros:quiet, appealling, easy to work
Comment:
I have built two systems with this case and my customers are both really satisfied, needless to say that I was satisfied too. This case is very user friendly. It look good and is built with quality material. I can only complain about the fact that they didn't supply a 90 degree sata cable to install the extra long blu-ray drive that was pushing hard on the PSU case.

Cons:Dangerous - See SummaryDifficult Cabling System

Pros:QuietGood CoolingSmall
Comment:
It's a great small case that has room for a full sized video card, and is very quiet, the cabling system is a bit difficult to work with and get to look nice. The real issue I had with this case, was an unfinished, jagged, and razer sharp edge of metal jutting out underneath the top 5.25" drive bay, exposed when I removed the cover. The cover was in very tightly and I had to use a fair amount of force to get it to pop out, which exposed that jagged piece, which sliced my index finger to the bone... If I had had my hand turned the opposite way to push it out, I may have cut the inside tendons on the joints of several of my fingers and lost use of them... I don't know if this is a manufacturing defect or what, but I would NOT purchase this case again.

Pros:Awesome case. Crazy nice for the price
Comment:
REALLY happy with this case. Typical Antec quality, very well built, lots of extra screws and silicone washers. Very quiet, nice thick panels. The only downside is because of the size there is only 2 places for a hard drive, one is in the second 5" bay and one on the bottom of the case. I guess this is because of the size but I wish there was some add on bays, with the board I installed there seems to be plenty of room but I guess that might not always be the case.Aweome over all.

Antec New Solution NSK3480 Black/ Silver Computer Case
Cons:- Can only take 2x92mm front intake fans. 1x120mm would have been preferred.- Power supply makes a high pitch whine when the computer is not under load.

Pros:- Small and simple styling- Can take large tower coolers such as the Noctua NH-U12P- Comes with a quality Earthwatts power supply- Comes with a quality Tri-Cool 120mm fan
Comment:
I was getting tired of mid-tower cases' height, so I decided to go with a mini-tower that was had great cooling, anti-vibration features and could take large tower coolers. The NSK3480 fit that bill as it had a 120mm exhaust (hard to come by in mini-towers) and 2x92mm intake, silicone standoff for hard drives to reduce vibration and it could take the Noctua NH-U12P, a fairly tall and large cooler. Furthermore, what attracted me to the case is its two chamber design. The main components are separated from the power supply and, therefore, the power supply may run its fan at lower speed as cool air is drawn directly from the outside. This also allows for better air circulation in the main components chamber. Nevertheless, such a design does pose a problem if you have a loud power supply since noise would leak out of the case much easier than before because of the top vents. One should therefore pick a quiet power supply. In all, this is a great computer case for mATX motherboards: it has good cooling and can take large coolers and long video cards without any complaint. Pros:Compact for a tower, great ventilation, quiet, good build quality, power supply included

Great little tower case which I'm using for as an always-on media server. Pros:- Built for quiet: Silicone and rubber mounts for everything- Well ventilated- High quality 380W PSU- Smart and simple appearance with many front panel ports

Quite possibly the best value in mATX cases in the market today. The 80% efficiency PSU powers my E8400 and Radeon HD4850 effortlessly. My weaknesses are really just minor nitpicks because this case is so good. I do wish it came in a glossy black finish like the Antec Minuet line, but once again, a quiet and cool and attractive case for this price is hard to beat. This is the second NSK3480 I bought this year, and am pleased they have fixed one big nit I had with my earlier purchase: they drilled holes in the bottom of the case so that it is easier to mount the bottom HDD cage.

I used this in a build for a friend. I just wanted a no nonsense matx case with a quality PS included for a light duty PC. I've always liked Antec cases; in my experience they are well thought out, simple, practical and attractive. This case was no exception, although the nature of a matx case means working conditions are cramped. The one thing that is a little odd is the HD mounting location; its mounted to the floor of the case directly under where a dedicated video card would go. After installing the video card there was about 1mm of space between the card and the HD.

This review was modfied by poster @ 04-11-08 07:28 AM
