Good looking board, Has core unlocking feature, Makes use of DDR3 RAM, Decent enough on board video with DVI, Solid caps for CPU VRM, Price (got it for free of charge with AMD CPU at MC), good functionality general with no troubles so far. Requirements additional SATA and USB ports (the 760G멞 chipset supports 2 far more SATA and four far more USB), quick one PCI/PCI-E x1 slot (micro ATX supports four slots, this one has three total), no eggs taken off due to price tag I paid for it and it functioning flawlessly even though could not unlock L3 cache on AMD Athlon II x4 (no fault of board, not each chip unlocks). To a prior reviewer, just mainly because you could not unlock further cores on your Phenom dual core, does not imply you have a defective board. NOT ALL PROCESSORS CAN UNLOCK! From time to time AMD will laser cut access to the additional cores and Nothing will unlock them. Also if the cores are actually defective, they won't unlock either. If you purchased the dual core pondering it will absolutely unlock to a tri or quad core, you must have spent the added few bucks on a quad!!! Unlocking is hit or miss (mostly miss), out of three AMD processors with a possibility of unlocking, I had NONE unlock with several diverse boards.

Compact; Inexpensive; Core unlock operates often. I've had a number of issues with this board. With my initially board, I could get the cores to unlock, but this triggered S3 sleep mode to cease operating. I got a replacement board and now when I allow core unlocking, the laptop will not boot. Mind you, this is the very same CPU that I was in a position to unlock with my original A780L3G board.

A decent motherboard that does it's job, CAN have attitude with booting up when you're tweaking though. (Unlocking cores primarily), And have to flip the P.S. off/on and fire her back up until she boots. COULDN'T Unlock the fourth core on my AMD Athlon II x3... It was disappointing but i nonetheless got a decent machine out of it! Good size, On board DVI, I like. Don't get it devoid of ATLEAST getting a low-cost Video Card even though.. Please.

Onboard everything... inexpensive price tag... DDR3. Obtaining ati2dvag errors. Uninstalled all ATI drivers and reinstalled from disc. Biostar site doesn't even have the ATI drivers for this board. Installed most current ATI drivers on ATI site. All to no avail. Will probably be RMAing this within a handful of days unless I'm unable to resolve, which at this point looks doubtful. May be my final Biostar board. Manufacturer Response:Sorry for you troubles, please get in touch with our technical support staff at 626-581-1055 menu 2 or e-mail support@biostar-usa.comBelow is also links to the drivers, please note "Chipset" also consists of the graphics drivers.http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/driver.php?S_IDBased on your challenge, please attempt one memory stick at a time or different memory to see if memory is cause of your issue

Great motherboard for the income. Is not compatible with my AMD Phenom II X4 945 125w processor. Be cautious when acquiring this. On the specifics web page it says it is compatible with Phenom II X4's and max tdp at 125w, which I identified to be untrue.

Seems stable (BUT, had BSOD with ati2davg error prior to enabling Cool'n'Quiet by also updating AMD processor driver in Windows XP; ati2dvag error is a frequent issue with AMD/ATI items from all vendors, it is not necessarily Biostar's fault). Has BIOS bug that causes program to fail to go from Standby to Hibernate. I have Windows XP. You can see the challenge if you go to Energy Possibilities, change Method standby to 1 min, and System hibernates to two min. Following 1 minute, the method goes into standby. Right after another minute, the technique does wake up, BUT THEN DOES NOT HIBERNATE. I had to call 626-581-1055 (you Have to Call, don't bother with the web page, they don't usually respond to e-mail either) to get a new BIOS that fixes the hibernate issue. Nevertheless, the new BIOS broke a different feature. I first contacted Biostar on threeቧ񳏋, and still have NOT received a very good BIOS (that does not break anything else) a lot more than a month later. I had the Exact Exact same hibernate difficulty with a G41-M7. I wonder if ALL Biostar boards have the exact same challenge??? An additional situation is that an Athlon II X2 250 with Cool'n'Quiet enabled benchmarked ten% slower than with Cool'n'Quiet disabled when operating passmark.com's PerformanceTest 7.. Anandtech.com said in six񳏉 that AMD was working with motherboard vendors to allow proper BIOS assistance. My guess is that the correct assistance is missing from this board. However yet another problem is that the DVI output Usually indicates that it consists of audio, even when I choose Realtek audio. But I am in fact willing to overlook the two latter troubles. . . sigh.

good tiny board dvi wont perform this is the 3rd one particular i got soon after exchangeing them and the dvi wont perform on any of them . i purchased this board for a small computer system to hook to my flat screen tv so we could watch films on the television and require the dvi to hook it up.. Manufacturer Response:Sorry to hear of your troubles, sounds like you are trying to use a DVI adapter of some sort to get to your display device. Unfortunately Biostar/AMD chipset motherboards does not support adapters via the DVI, must be a direct DVI to DVI connection.

Just tossed this board in and it worked fantastic. Extremely quiet, running with an AMD 635 X4 (Not overclocked... But). Effortlessly updated directx 10 to 11 without the difficulties I've had with compatibility problems on other Biostar mb's. I'm very picky when it comes down to what you acquire when it comes to accessories etc. Though it did come with 2 sata cables, it was missing all the situation screws and all that jazz (was truly the very first I have ever bought with out them and I am horrible at keeping spares). I'm not a big fan of DDR2 boards, as DDR3 is out and shining correct now, and it wont be lengthy before that alterations. I got this board with a combo deal which landed the board at around ten bucks or so, so actually cant complain. The fact you can use ddr2 1066MHz in it, areas it in a competitive margin for other boards working with DDR3, specially if you are contemplating the cost. I can't claim this as a con, simply because it is a mATX board, but I do not like boards considerably with only two dimm slots, but if you dont mind that and are seeking for a decent to great board. Grab it. Im operating windows 7 64-bit. windows index gave it a three.8. all round (lowest becoming the onboard video card)

I'm sorry my previous assessment was for the L3L model not this one. THis a single functions flawlessly and accepts Phenom II X4 125w cpu's. Could be more affordable.

Install was quite effortless, altered out from yet another older mobo. utilised Kingston memory. runs quiet (not overclocked). booting with XP faster then booting Win7. Weird issue only i found was that the manual mentioned to install initial the OS and then run the CD that is include with the mobo. With a SATA difficult drive you want to have the SATA drivers before you can install a OS. So i ended up employing a PATA tough drive. Right after that no problems located. Would definitly acquire a different a single for that cost.

Low cost (got this cost-free with CPU buy at a different web-site) Onboard video worked for a couple of days, then beginning giving BSOD's. Tried replacing a handful of items with no achievement then installed a PCI-Express two. video adapter, disabled onboard video and challenge solved Overall a quite fantastic value, specially when free, but video was buggy for me

Biostars are Wonderful boards... N/S bridge chips, IDE/SATA mounts, fan plugs, & Memory slots are near "Always" nicely-placed. As for ANY Motherboard becoming loaded with an OS into a SATA HDD... nicely, if you are getting a difficulty loading your OS into a Serial ATA Tough Drive as the initial BOOT drive, you want to either "Buy a NEW HDD or Buy a New PSU/SATA Cable(s). I have built at least 18+ systems with 36GB 10k rpm, 74GB 10k rpm, 150GB 10k rpm, 300GB 10k rpm RaptorX's & up- to 500GB HDD's. You Can get on the 'net & uncover a "Forum" or "%", grow to be a member, ask a question and I guaranty you will have "Plenty" of responses from each "Cool-Headed, Beneficial members. You will get some "DROOL" from rather a couple of who just want to laugh at you, then there are the ones who will post photos & 'Spec's' of their systems (...I've located that over "HALF" of these guys are bragging on a "WISH", as the Case photo(s) had been copied from some Random web site & 'Specifications' are from "their heads"...), & then they ask if any individual can "Top This"? All you have to do is completely check your gear & components/connections & your SATA HDD will accept the OS Disk with no fail... but, if you are loading from a "Copied" DVD, CD or a Torrent- this may well really well be your "MAIN" problem. There are so quite a few diff. disk manuf. and the method that the "Copy or "Image" was produced from will constantly have a specific "Blink", .dll driver or something- even the Burner Brand and Burn Speed can have an effect on the way ANY HDD accepts a "Copied" OS during load. So, the Variables can be endless, unless you are loading from a "Legit" Microsoft OS disk, then, you have quite handful of OS loading troubles to figure out, if ANY at all.

Functions v price. Failed to unlock any cores. Each fan headers failed to manage fan speeds. Fans stay on in sleep mode for crying out loud (no, they're not plugged directly in to the PSU). Good grandmother's chastity belt, is there any excuse for that? Dual core would have been adequate to suit my requirements so you can envision how foolish I really feel for spending Extra for a core-unlocking board. On the up side, this was my 1st non-Intel construct and the AMD Phenom 560 I purchased for this rig is a mighty processor. AMD PHENOM 560CORSAIR XMX3 1333 DDR3 ƔGIG STICK. 1 Additional TO FOLLOW)NVIDIA GT240 Manufacturer Response:Sorry, the motherboard has the ability for core unlocking, the question is whether or not your processor is in a position to accomplish unlocking.

DVI out DOES work with DVI to HDMI adapter! I have employed the integrated video with an adapter to hook up to my HDTV and it works perfectly! I get 1080p video and audio to my Toshiba by way of the Television's HDMI input. Biostar is wrong on a previous evaluation. Utilised a cheap adapter from a discount store and it worked perfectly. I've also been waiting 3 weeks for Biostar to figure out a BIOS splash screen issue I am getting with one more Biostar motherboard. Leads me to believe their tech support isn't all that knowledgeable. I have two Biostar boards and they've worked properly for me so far! Just haven't been impressed with their tech support staff from what I've seen. At least they've increased their warranty to 3 years on their motherboards, it shows confidence in the products they sell.

I have built 3 systems with this board with no problems at all. A couple had been for media PC use. I installed a graphics card in 1 of them, but the on board video is quite good for most users. None truly. I generally support the board below the connector when installing the power supply 24 pin plug mainly because I feel uneasy putting the pressure on it when inserting that connector. It supports pretty quick ddr3 ram and I have employed AMD Athlon X4 640 cpu's with great results.I like the CoolerMaster E-341 circumstances with 3 fans. I never felt the want to use four fans. The X4 640 barely gets above room temperature when streaming 1080 video.
