Belkin F5D7230-4 Wireless Router 802.11G/B 54MBPS 2.4GHZ 4PT 10/100 W/ Firewall
Wireless-G is the upcoming 54Mbps wireless networking standard that's almost five times faster than the widely deployed Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes businesses and public wireless hotspots around the country — but since they share the same 2.4GHz radio band Wireless-G devices can also interoperate with existing 11Mbps Wireless-B equipment. with 139 User Reviews

Please stay away from this...
Cons: Never worked very well. Overheats on high transfer, like large downloads or P2P. Kinda slow; wasn't able to route fast enough to give me the full bandwidth of my connection (10m down). Also, mine is now dead. Wireless drops a lot and usually won't connect, and it somehow doesn't remember the password I set on it. I can reset it, create a new password, and go to another page in it's setup, and the new password won't work. This is regardless of entering "12345678" as a password, or a longer alphanumeric password.
Pros: Cheap basic 4-port wireless router. It's small and rather nice looking. Comment:
Since I never cared enough about it to use their lifetime warranty, I decided to pop the case open to take a look, and was greeted by a couple swollen capacitors. This explains my more recent problems, though initial problems are still a mystery. I was rather impressed to see a heatsink on the cpu, though it didn't seem to stop it from overheating. This is a ver 6000tt, in case anyone wants to know. |

Wireless issues
Cons: Signal doesn't seem like it's as strong as it should be, and the connection speeds are slower than they should be, almost regardless of proximity. It will loose it's wireless signal randomly occasionally during large file transfers/downloads. P2P is this router's bane though, it stops after about 5 minutes, and then progressively more often as you restart it.
Pros: Works great for wired connections, and basic wireless web browsing. Setup menu isn't that hard to navigate. Low profile allows it to not fall over easily. Comment:
I'm wondering if there is some faulty wiring that causes it to die whenever it gets heated from high wireless throughput, or if it's an uploading issue perhaps. |

Belkin F5D7230-4 Wireless Router 802.11G/B 54MBPS 2.4GHZ 4PT 10/100 W/ Firewall
Cons: I bought another one of these routers for my grandmother's house, and it worked for three days. Took it back to my place, swapped the power supply with the one from my router, and it worked fine. Power supply failed.
Pros: Brilliant router when it works. I have a previous version of this router that has been going strong for at least three years.Easy to use interface, though a little slow with the constant password requests if you have a lot of changes to make. Comment:

Works for people who just browse the internet and use a laptop. |

Meets my needs
Cons: Packaging contained conflicting set-up instructions.
Pros: Exactly what I needed for home use. Easy installation and set-up. Adequate reception from any room in my house (main floor, 2nd floor & basement). Comment:
Very good reliability at a very good price. Recommended. |

Works great
Cons: none
Pros: I bought this at Goodwill for $4. I set it up about 2 years ago and never had to reset it. Set up was very easy. For 2 years it's been rock solid. I have no idea on the range as I'm in an apartment. The first year I owned it I was using VOIP for my phone and that was also running through the router, so I have to say this thing is rock solid. Comment:
I work on computers and average 7 PC's connected with wire and 3 or 4 laptops wireless at all times and never had a dropped connection. I get my 29 megs down and 1 up from Roadrunner on all PC's. If I was looking to buy a wireless router and read the reviews on this I would never buy it. But having used this for 2 years I'm happy I do have it. |

Sorry Belkin
Cons: I ended up with 2 of these ... a friend had one that does work but has a relatively weak signal; the other (purchased) does not configure or wireless does not work ... strange.See other people's reviews - avoid this product and go go for a better model.
Pros: Cheap. Shipping was as good as always. Comment:
It should be okay if you are using the wireless in a place with thin walls, low interference, or in the same room. Belkin's customer support is good; however ... so if you are ready to take your chances you will not be dropped. |

Junk
Cons: Complete junk. The wireless drops frequently even though I'm right next to the router on my laptop. Even the wired connections are flaky and sites will time out a lot. Very frustrating.
Pros: Small. Comment:
Before I started using this I had a Netgear router that worked great for 4+ years. I originally had a v2000 of this model as a backup, which worked fine until two of the hard wired ports died within a few months. Belkin gave me a brand new unit as an RMA (vA000) and this thing has given me nothing but trouble. I have it on the exact same equipment and exact same settings as my other routers, so it's not a configuration issue. It's just a piece of unreliable junk. I'm getting a Linksys at this point because I'm tired of losing my connection. |

Works Great
Cons: Not gigabit on the wired side??? When I go to web based setup and type my admin password, I have to click the button with the mouse, If I press enter, it just clears the text field and reloads the password page. Slightly annoying.
Pros: 2 years of everyday use, still running strong. Its done everything I've asked it to. Easy setup and maintenance. Comment:
I bought this because it was the cheapest wireless router I could find. I actually was buying it for a friend and bought a 2nd one for me. Both are still going strong. I don't have anymore wireless devices but I am using 3 of the 4 wired ports and haven't had any problems at all. The web based setup seems a little basic, but with some poking and prodding you'll find the more advanced stuff. |

great router
Cons: gets rather warm....fourth Ethernet port stopped working on mine....wireless good for basic use, checking e-mail, newgrounds.com youtube. as for gaming....thats a no unless by wired connection. wireless is to dang slow, i only ran into problems online with XBL....i all so had a perfect signal.
Pros: ->GREAT tech support!<- router settings easy to use, plus you can see people connected kinda. changing the settings is a snap. plus two passwords, wireless and guest. Comment:
your better off buying a better router. but i highly recommend belkin. |

Ok for a cheap router
Cons: DO NOT purchase this router if you plan to do advanced networking tasks. The setup pages are SO SLOW. It takes about 20-60 seconds for each page to load after clicking a link to navigate. The settings don't respond 99% of the time, making any sort of setup other than PC-->router-->modem IMPOSSIBLE. Maybe I have a lemon.Don't even think about switching of the DHCP and just using it to connect to another router(linksys). IF you can even change the setting.
Pros: Works, that's about it. If you need a cheap wireless connection for browsing the web or possibly gaming (if you're not hosting) then it's great. Comment:
If the settings worked properly then it would be fine, but not being able to adjust them just ruins it entirely. It's just going to sit in a box until I need a backup. |

Don't Waste your Time
Cons: Received item, did setup correctly but the router refuses to stay on. lights fade then die within one minute of being powered up. Yes I did call their support, which is a joke as you get someone from the forgien coutry starting with an I, who can barely speak english, then you get support at the 3rd grade level which does you no good.
Pros: None, other than very inexpensive, but not worth the money if it does not work from day one. Comment:
received a case# 7400693 which still got no results. Tommorow I will simply go to A local store and get a decent one off the shelf. |
![]() Rating: Review Date: 08/18/09 |
Perfectly fine, why spend more?
Cons: Doesn't let you sound cool by saying you have a WRT54G running DD-WRT.
Pros: Pretty much no problems whatsoever for 3 years. Has handled having 3 PCs, 1 linux box, 1 mac, 1 Wii, 2 iPhones and a Windows Mobile phone all logged in at the same time without a hitch. Comment:
The stupid Mac couldn't see all the PCs & linux machine on the network unless I configured the router to assign static IPs to each device. Not sure if that's an issue with the router, or just Samba kinda sucking. |
![]() Rating: Review Date: 08/16/09 |
Don't Bother
Cons: The more the router is used, the more often it needs to be reset. It simply freezes. Sometimes I need to reset it every 20 minutes if all 3 of my computers are using it. Very frustrating.
Pros: Easy port forwarding Comment:
I didn't have this problem before I upgraded the firmware to the latest one. Wish I could find the old firmware somewhere. I'll call support I guess and see if they'll send me a better one. |

Great Item!
Cons: the default settings need to be compatible to any ISP!
Pros: It's a basic, affordable router! and its pretty much what you pay for! Comment:
To everyone writing a negative review on this product are pretty much lazy people who want everything done for them. This belkin router works great but if you have any difficulties throughout the service, you will need to call customer service! they will definitely help set your router settings to be compatible to your ISP! My router was acting up, i called customer service and they changed my settings to an adequate state. dont trust these other people giving negative reviews just because they can't make a simple call to customer service, hope this helps! |

Junk
Cons: At first wireless connection is nigh impossible as it doesn't like whatever wireless adapter you use (even their own brand). Also several times the internet connection will just get dropped for no apparent reason whatsoever, even when the cable connection is still active and ready. Plus this thing gets really hot when idle because of its poor ventilation.
Pros: Has a nice, small footprint; works when it works and has a somewhat decent wireless signal. Comment:
I would not recommend Belkin for anyone who is setting-up their own home network (wireless or otherwise). Some of their other products do fine (as I have used them before), but their networking just falls short of useable. |
![]() Rating: Review Date: 08/02/09 |
DONT BUY IT
Cons: It NEVER stays connected. It's the biggest waste of money I've ever bought. We're on our SECOND one after we called Belkin to complain and they sent us a free one. Now our SECOND router barely can stay connected for more than 15 minutes. Forget viewing websites with images, forget downloading, forget having multiple websites open. It disconnects immediately.
Pros: Well, it's cheap. And it connects to the internet. It was easy enough to install without help. Comment:
If you want a router buy something else. This is basically a "wireless extender". |
![]() Rating: Review Date: 06/28/09 |
overheats when too many connections
Cons: This router doesn't like bit-torrent. When you let micro-torrent or what have you connect to more that a couple dozen other clients, it dies after five minutes. Don't buy this product if you like to use p2p software.
Pros: This is a decent buy for web browsing and normal wireless activity. Comment:
The product that I bought is version 6002 and doesn't support custom firmwares. |
![]() Rating: Review Date: 06/20/09 |
Intolerable
Cons: Theres not much to it. The problem is pretty straight foward. It stays connected 1/4 of the time. Doesnt compare to the linksys I had prior.
Pros: WHEN its working it provides a pretty good connection. Comment:
I bought this from best buy last summer. |
![]() Rating: Review Date: 06/16/09 |
Spaztastic
Cons: The rest of the time is all disconnects and miscommunications causing internet loss. Overall it is a pretty good router though.
Pros: It works 90% of the time. Comment:

have been using this for almost a year now, pretty good for the price i paid. but there are alot better out there.. especially now with wireless N
