Belkin NetCam HD Wi-Fi Camera with Night Vision 1280x720 25FPS 2MP
Cons:Choppy recording performance in 720pLogin/turn on/Login/turn off -style activation for email notification is kind of tedious every time.

Pros:720p.Wireless.Recording funtion (but not for long periods of time).Simple and easy to setup and use software for your phone Android or iPhone.Night-vision capability.Email notifications with attached photos taken right when motion is detected, even in the dark.Has some advance features like size of motion to detect, takes like 3 pictures to attach to the emails, and needs a password to login to the software but you can checkbox the Auto-Login (which I don't).
Comment:
I bought this on sale for security purposes since I lived with many "friends" during that time in one household. I wanted to make sure that I could monitor if someone entered my room with a simple notification via email with pictures taken right when the movement happens. The software allows for different levels of movement like LOTS, Medium, Small movement. I guess so you can adjust it to fit in front of an area where you might have pets walking through or something. The night vision is cool since my room is always dark with poor lighting during the day, and my lights are off when I'm out, so that's a big plus if anyone ever entered without me knowing. The video capture is upto 720p HD quality. First of all, it gets really choppy when it's in this mode, and if you use the recording function on your phone (I own an Android 4.4 phone), it gets really sluggish and also doesn't record for long before it cuts off without telling me. Not sure if it's due to internal storage space, or performance lagging stopping the recording feature, or the software having a time limit. The motion detection has to be set manually either from a PC or your phone. Same with turning it off. To do this, it means you have to login, turn it on, close the app. Rinse and repeat when turning it off when you return. This can get tedious sometimes. It would sweet if there was a widget to simply do this from the home screen or something.Anyway, to summarize this product: It's a great wireless security capture device that is great for taking snap shots of motion detection when triggered, then emailed to you with photos attached, to show evidence of whatever's happening. It's fairly simple and not bad for the price when on sale. The value of this device coupled with all its features makes it actually decent for someone who doesn't want to invest in an entire security system with multiple cameras, tons of wiring, and really going out of your way to securing your place like you would with fire/smoke/carbon alarms... Basically this is a great entry level security camera that I could recommend.
