COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:A little clunky to install, but fits in very securely when you figure it out.
Pros:*Price*Does exactly what it's supposed to do*Quiet! Comment:
Got this for my first build and it not only keeps everything at a great temp even during heavy load but it does so quietly, which is a major upgrade over what I had. I'd recommend this to anyone building their own system. |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:Can be difficult to mount on certain case/motherboard combinationsNone
Pros:Good mounting bracketGreat performancePrice Comment:
Using this in a Fractal Design R4 Blackout on a Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H with Intel i5-4590. It keeps temps very low even on load: 34C (idle) and 45C (load). Stellar performance in a supposedly silent case which usually entails high temps.Included is a great mounting bracket unlike those flimsy intel "push-pins" that I've grown to hate. Usually great performance = high price, but not so here since this is one of the cheapest aftermarket coolers on the market at $30. Can't be beat!Only thing to watch out for is mounting can be slightly difficult so you may have to mount it before mounting the motherboard into the case. In my combination, I was able to first mount the motherboard then the cooler. |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:harder to install than stock
Pros:Good cooling power, quiet Comment:
First thing noticed is the massive size compared to the stock. Installation was more elaborate than the stock, but parts fit together nicely. Lots of youtube videos tutorial on installing this fan so there should be no problem.Great cooling power, much lower CPU temp. Definitely a big step up from the stock. And significantly more quiet than stock at high load. No wonder it's popular. At such price, I'm very satisfied. |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:Install instructions aren't that clear
Pros:QuietEasy installCools nicelyGood looks Comment:
A very nice cooling unit for the price. The best you can find for less than 30$. Search any forums and you will find that this cooler is the most recommended one. At first, I was looking at the Noctua U12S, but I decided to go with the Coolermaster because of the price difference. While I already own Noctua products, I couldn't justify the price difference for the CPU cooler. The ony Con I would say is that the install instructions aren't so easy to follow. However, looking videos on Youtube makes the installation very easy. In fact, the installation itself is quite easy. If this isn't your first time installing a CPU heatsink/cooler, I don't know why you wouldn't succeed with this one.For the price, the performances and the looks, you can't beat this one. Get it on sale or price-match it and you'll be a happy camper !Highly recommended product. |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:Massive (more in summarymay interfere with rammay not fit in your case
Pros:Works very well better then expected for price tagquiet nice 4 pin connector for newer boards that can automatically control fan speed. Comment:
this fan cools very very well for its price point i have a cooler master haf 912 and it barely fits but does at least the only issue i had is my corsair ram it has huge heat sink fins and i couldnt have the 120mm fan on the closest side to the ram due to the ram being in the way so i had to move it to the opposite side of the heaetsink so its on the back almost beside the back fan so it doesnt work as well but it still amazes me it handles the i5 4670k (stock havent overclocked it yet) on idle its 34 celcious and thats with the cpu fan spinning slowly since its 4pin connecetor mobo can control fan speed so its not full tilt constantly but once again very good cooler just make sure you check the size of the fan to make sure it will fit in your case |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:Installation took a little while because the included retention plate was hard to install (not the mounting plate on the back of the motherboard, the one that goes through the cooling heatpipes to screw down), took a few tries and a bit of thermal paste, but in the end it all worked fine. Also, just a bit too wide for my case (like less then a cm) but that isn't a big deal, just bends my side panel a bit.
Pros:Amazing cooler for the price. Keeps my FX 6300 at 4.3ghz (1.34 volts stable) at around 45 degrees max which is kinda crazy (btw, using just 1 fan in pull). Also, included thermal paste is pretty decent, works well for being included. Comment:
Really can't complain for the money I paid, it is flipping amazing. If you need a cooler for a low price, get this. It is pretty amazing. |

Pros:Amazing coolingAmazing priceAmazingly Easy to installAmazingly quietAmazingly cheapAmazingly large. Comment:
I cant believe how well this cooler works, and how well built it/easy to install it is for the price. If your not going liquid cooled this is probably as good as it gets. Only a side not, not a con really, but make sure your case will fit this cooler, as mentioned above it is quite large and in charge. |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:marginal improvement (if any) over the 212 plus. The plastic fan clips appear "more" breakable, translucent plastic fan doesnt seem as durable as the original 212
Pros:reasonable price (specially when price matched) good cooling capability compared to some higher end air cooler and lower end AIO liquid coolers Comment:
This is going to be used to cool a i5-2570 at stock speeds.During mock-up and bench testing, I used the older hyper 212+ and it cooled the processor really well while doing prime95 and OCCT burn-in tests. Even with low noise, low static pressure Yate Loon fans (D12SL-12) the system barely broke 55C and on the silent fan profile. Size isnt an issue. OCCT would fail using the stock intel fan in as little as 2 minutes with temps for at least one core reaching 75CIn a way, I was expecting this to be almost identical to the older 212 but there are some key and important differences. As advertised, the direct touch heatpipes are no longer "separated" by aluminum. All the 4 pipes are adjacent to each other. The aluminum base plate is a bit taller than the older 212 but the overall height of the tower cooler remains the same. The x-type clamping mechanism remains the same but the standoffs are different. Please note that the standoffs that come with the 212 Evo is a lot taller than the standoffs that came with the 212 plus. The original 212+ are closer to the size of the 2011 standoffs included with the 212 Evo package. So dont try replacing the 212+ heatsink with the 212 evo without changing standoffs. The backplate remains the same. The fan is translucent black (A12025-20CB-4BP)similar in color to the coolermaster R4 sickle flow fans. The blades feel more breakable compared to the matte nylon 212+ fan.Noise is about the same with the newer fan being slightly quieter. Cooling is about the same but with the 212 evo consistently being 1-2C warmer than the 212+ (same fans, same fan speeds on a fan controller)If you have the space and if you dont intend to OC like crazy, this is one of the most viable replacement cooler for both AMD and Intel platforms. |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:Tall and bulky
Pros:Inexpensive and quiet Comment:
This cooler has the same cooling efficiency of my OEM AMD FX 6300 cooler but much quieter. Make sure you have a wide case to handle this cooler, check out many install videos and research your MOBO for compatibility. I had to mount my side case fan on the outside of the case otherwise, the cooler would contact the fan. My case is 8 1/2 wide. |

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+
Cons:A bit tall do not fit in narrow cases resistor paranoia
Pros:Relatively quiet works well to cool cpu Comment:
I buy these on sale or when I build an new box. If you go air there is no better CPU cooler for the price. Okay the cons. Be prepared to figure out the holding mechanism. I have built 5 plus boxes with these over the years and still have some trial and error of which way the X goes under the fins. Do not screw down into mobo stand-offs until you are sure. It will save you some time. I am always a little worried about the size of the whole on the bac of the mobo. It does cover some of the micro resistors. It has never given me issues but it always makes me wonder. |

Cons:Big
Pros:Relatively quiet, cheap, efficient. Comment:
I had bought a FX-8320 along with an Asus M5A99X Evo Rev2.0 motherboard. Turns out that the default heatsink provided with the AMD processor is quite loud, bad and my CPU would run at 43-45 degrees idle. Now, I love my PC sessions quiet and the default heatsink was a nightmare. Bought this for about 30$ and it's relatively easy to install. My CPU is now idle at 29-31 degrees and in games I get to about 45 degrees. It's super quiet in idle mode and even in games it's really tolerable, for the price paid. All in all, a good 30$ investment, even if you're on a budget. Silence is worth something ! |

Would buy again for sure. Keeps the CPU quite low. I think this build it's floating around 28C under load which is fairly good. These heat pipe HS/Fan's are getting taller and taller so beware if you have a smaller case. |

Over the years through 4 PC builds I have gotten 4 of these granted 3 of them were the older model but no difference in temps pretty much the same design. By far one of the best air coolers on market I run 4.5ghz on i5- and i7 CPU's with temps under 50C at full load. |

Cons:Not the best cooling solution
Pros:Runs cool and quietInexpensive Comment:
Very effective for its cost, keeping the cpu cool as well as being relatively quiet. Great buy for anyone on a budget. |
I got this to replace another cooler that had the fan die on it. I knew this has been the standard in air cooling for some time. I was not disappointed - works great and is really quiet when you want it to be. Installing was a bit tricky and it seems like the cooler itself is a bit "loose" on the CPU. However it is cooling well so no worries in the end.
