COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 120mm sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons:HDT "grooves" need to be filled in

Pros:CheapEffective
Comment:
Ran this on a friend's rig who was having heat issues and keeps his 2500k at a nice 48-50C under load. For the price you can't go wrong, it is easily the best budget heatsink out there on the market now, coming close to the level of better air coolers for a fraction of the price.

Cons:Need to pull motherboard to install backplate.

Pros:Easy setup and great cooling performance.
Comment:
With a rear case fan near this cooler running about 750 RPM the CPU fan usually shuts off when system is at idle.

Comment:
Works excellent, with just a single fan dropped my idle temps from the stock cooler quite a bit. Dropped from 30-32 idle to 26-28 idle. Nevertheless haven't pushed it by way of the stress tests or overclocking, that will come soon enough. With a second fan I'm told I ought to hit the sweet spot of under 25 celsius idle. First thing first, this thing is a pain to install, and the instruction are nowhere near detailed enough. I had to invest some time on various forums to read suggestions, appear at pics, and watch videos before I tackled this thing. The second factor I will warn people today about is immediately after it's installed, following it's bolted down and the screws tightened as far as they'll go, this thing can still move! It is doable for the factor to rotate really a bit until your thermal paste dries. It freaked me out the very first time it occurred to me, and following some forum searching, i identified this is typical, which to me is a big style flaw.Another small thing I will warn people about is the way the fans snap onto the heatsink. If you're not careful it's quite easy to bend the suggestions of the aluminum heatsinks. They can usually be bent back effortlessly sufficient, but may require taking the fan back off. The cooler works good but it just a huge discomfort to install.Alos, make positive you have plenty of space in your case! I have a enormous case so mine fit fine, on the other hand I can see this becoming an concern in quite a few situations. Also, check your RAM. My fan sits over my 1st RAM slot, there is no way I'd be in a position to fit a stick of ram in that very first slot without getting to slide the fan up halfway up the heatsink.

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 120mm sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons:collects dust but suspect all air coolers do. Doesnt clear some taller ram

Pros:Quiet, performance, value. accepts push/pull in a variety of fans. Easy to mount, can slide the fans up slightly if you have ram clearance issues.
Comment:
I am using this with a Asus P8P67pro with i5 2500k in a push/pull (dual fans) configuration. I have had my CPU overclocked to 4.5 ghz and it has performed admirably not going over 62 degrees according to CoreTemp while gaming. I think you could get even better performance with better than stock fans. On sale its usually around 20.00 with is the best bang for your buck. Installation was a breeze. I find it does collect quite a bit of dust even when my case isnt dusty. Runs very quiet on silent mode in my BIOS setting and still doesnt go above 37 degrees while doing mundane tasks on my computer. Rarely ever see above 50 while gaming.

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 120mm sleeve CPU Cooler

This is working excellent on my i5-2500k processor. Keeping temps under 50C at full load when overclocked to four.4ghz.Not significantly else to say, for the value its operating nicely. Was a bit of a pain to install, almost didn't fit in my HAF 922 case but with a bit of fiddling got it in there solidly. Also discovered the instructions for setup a bit poor, but these are minor complaints. OK Style4 Heat Pipes120mm Fan with PWM Quite tall, will not fit in something other than a full size ATX case. Fan triggered the PWM speed manage on my SuperMicro X9SCM with Xeon SandyBridge 1230 motherboard to cyclically accelerate and slow all of the fans in the system which are also CoolerMaster. I ended up employing the stock Intel cooler instead and saw the very same temperatures as with this unit. Also, be conscious that if your RAM slots are close to your CPU this cooler will probably block them, specifically if you use tall RAM with heat spreaders. The PWM concern I had is most probably a combination of an issue with the fan manage on my motherboard and this fan, but if you intend to use it with a server board you want to pick up a different 120mm PWM fan.

Dual fan setup. I added a second 120mm fan on the other side and worked perfectly. I am OC'ing my 1100T to 4ghz with just. I very recommend this cooler. Very good cost and solid performance. When I ordered my parts, I originally got the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler, I had to bring it back. It's cooling power was extremely disappointing. Get this for a few dollars far more and you won't regret it. Major. Make certain you got the space and that you RAM heatsinks aren't too high, simply because they may rub against the heatsink. Don't cheap out (for air cooling I mean), get this, you will not regret it.

I had the Zalman 9700 on my Intel Q9550 idle on lowest core was around 35c to 37c not that negative. But below load (Intel burn test) it would go up to 56c to 60c. Following installing the hyper idle temp stays at 32c lowest core temp. When I run the burn test the highest 1 of the cores reached was 48c. Now all this is with automatic fan control and the rpm stayed at 1030 rpm.Installation was straightforward possibly took 15 minutes, I didnt have to take away the motherboard I had cut out the area behind my cpu. I did use Shin etsu thermal compound and I did the pea size in the middle of cpu. Heat sink didn't sit that tight when it was fully tightend down no large deal I assume when the thermal paste settles in it will be a lot more secure. Cant beat the cost to value and performance.

This is an superb cooler! It was fairly straightforward to install when I understood how to do it -- and the newegg videos helped a lot. It is really quiet, specifically compared to the stock cooler on my old Core two, and it keeps my computer really cool (originally it was 44 C, but now as my thermal grease has been burning in, it's about 41 C). This is rather a bit taller than the stock cooler, so you will want to make certain you case can accommodate it. Also, make confident that your motherboard can accommodate it as nicely -- on mine, it stretches into 1 of the RAM DIMM slots (not a dilemma for me, as I only use two sticks). Also, the instruction booklet isn't that great, but the newegg videos helped. Overall great item. I'm utilizing it with Arctic Silver five, and it's a great mixture.

This is pretty much the best cost to performance heatsink out there, keeps my processor at 29C under load. My only complaints are that the instructions that came with for installation are terrible, had to watch videos on youtube. Also a 2nd fan for push/pull would be nice.

It operates. Overclocked my Athlon II X3 455 three.3GHz to four.05GHz. Stock heat sink went to 80C. This heat sink took it down to 50C.Four-pin fan header is a must-have.Quite, very quiet. You need to install a plate below your motherboard to hold up 120mm of heatsink. (This is A Very good Factor; don't trust 120mm heat sinks that don't come with a motherboard plate.) If you don't want to mess with a mounting plate, acquire the smaller Hyper TX3 instead. Fan blows to the back of the case. Final results above are with only one fan on the heat sink. I disable the AMD Cool & Quiet feature.

Excellent price, very good fan included Soon after precariously mounting the annoying back plate, I proceeded to attempt installation of the cooler itself. The final results had been horrifying. I applied thermal compound, and placed the cooler with the brace mounted on the processor. The brace is supposed to hold the cooler in place using pressure soon after being attached, but when I tried this, the brace was so heightened in a way I couldn't adjust, and when I tried to screw it in, if I got 1 side attached, the other side would move straight upwards, like a see-saw. I would have had to lean on the cooler itself, endangering the processor, and the cooler itself, just to screw it in. This may possibly have occurred only to me, and it could not happen with other sockets. (I'm working with AM3 on an MSI 870A-G54, with a Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition.)
