Fantastic cooler, issue is big! Core i7 950 @ 28C idle ኎c @ 100% Used artic silver, not thermal paste that comes with it. This cooler is Big! (Not a con if you obtain a major sufficient case. Greater directions would be a plus, but not tough to figure out.

CORSAIR CAFA50 120mm CPU Cooler
Comment:
Large, feels relatively sturdy. The installation was considerably easier and much easier than my prior hyper 212. Primarily based off critiques and such, pretty confident overall performance will be on par...nevertheless The fan...is SO loud (deducted an egg). I wanted my new personal computer to be pretty quiet. My builds tend to be "budget-minded high finish". I normally wait for offers to pop up and A50 seemed to have very good reviews so I picked it up for 15 with rebate off NE. I haven't ran it with my CPU but I'm fairly confident overall performance will be on par with my Hyper 212 which has 1 fan. 1 fan is also the maximum you can have on this unit. I feel the A70 makes it possible for for both sides. I didn't realize it until I unboxed the fan. It's been sitting around for two months, and I'm finding my i5-2500 next week, so I decided to see how loud it would be. I plugged it into a spare fan connector on my present computer system and Corsair fan is louder than all my other fans in my older pc combined. Pushes air properly, but the noise will drive me crazy. If you are OK with the noise, then this cpu cooler really should perform just fine. I for a single, despise noisy cpu fans. I come across it irritating and would have appreciated a quieter fan. It only comes with a three pin connector (no 4 pin), so I'm not confident if it will be as effective if I reduce the rpm. At initially I didn't feel it was possible, but right after half an hour, I was in a position to separate the original fan from the mount with the rubber (connectors?). Bad design there, must have been modular (deducted 1 egg for this). Right after I went by way of that trouble, I ordered a Scythe fan off A-zon(it was less expensive) to replace the original. It has been a roundabout process, but I'm fairly sure I'll be happy in the finish.SpecsCore i5-2500HD 5870

Does what it ought to do for the cost you spend, keeps my phenom II x4 at sub 40 temps even even though playing DCUO on highest settings. The fan has a chassis fan connector rather of a CPU fan connector. Since my mobo only has 1 chassis fan plug, my chassis fan that came with the case is sitting unused when the CPU fan plug is open. Took away a single egg for that given that i'm probably going to be getting a new 120mm CPU fan and a chassis fan Y cable.

Cons:2-Pin fan with a resistor. I'd expect a PWM fan these days.

Pros:Big tower heatsink. Decent cooling. Enough clearance for a variety high ram modules.
Comment:
Overall a great heatsink that does its job and provides enough clearance for the ram I was using.

CORSAIR CAFA50 120mm CPU Cooler
Cons:Minimum fan speed is 1600RPM even with the adapterFor AMD, only top-down configuration, thus possibly blocking memory slots if you have a small mobo

Pros:Keeps the CPU really coolLooks greatEasy to installFan still going strong after 6 months of useComes with rubber studs for fanGood quality
Comment:
Keeps my FX6100 cool k around 33C on idle, and 46C under load. This is with a lower RPM fan that I'm using, as the stock one runs at 1600RPM and is fairly loud (wind noise). The fan itself is quiet, no clicking noise, no buzzing, etc. Overall, good quality fan. Heatsink is very sturdy. After installation, which was very easy, the HSF does not wiggle. Comes with rubber studs for fan installation, so it reduces vibrations. Also looks better. The fan comes with a sleeved cable. If you have an AMD setup, it only installs top-down, meaning the wind goes up and down, not side to side. This makes it difficult to access the memory slots, especially if you have a small mobo. I have a full-sized ATX board, so it doesn't bother me much, and it does help pull the heat away from the videocard, LOL.

CORSAIR CAFA50 120mm CPU Cooler
Cons:-Thermal paste was iffy-HUGE

Pros:-Great cooling capacity-Fan has option to reduce speed (and noise of fan)
Comment:
All in all, I am not going to complain about this cooler. It works great, i7-3770k OC to 4.4ghz (stock voltage) running at ~25 degrees. However, the fins did manage to cut me multiple times when I tried to remove RAM sticks, plug in the CPU fan, case fans, etc. because of how HUGE this fan is. Beware that it will not fit in most Mid-tower cases.

This cooler is absolutely fantastic, no to mention that I got it for free. The only complain is that the fan is a bit loud even with the fan speed reducer, so I had to upgrade to a more silent fan which is not a big deal. I am running a 3570K and I am able to run with the fan completely off, I adjusted Ai suite so that the fan will kick in when CPU reaches 30C, even in some games the fan remains off which is quite impressive.

Cools i5-2500K to 54C with 1.34V and 4.5Ghz overclock running Prime95. Fan at higher speed not overly loud in Antec Solo case. Clears memory slots on Gigabyte P67 motherboard. Corsair support is great - they sent out a new mounting kit with the needed parts quickly. One particular of the screws that came with the Intel mounting kit was non-threaded, which according to Corsair assistance is not the 1st time they heard of this problem. Really should come with one particular extra screw/washer and give explicit directions so no 1 can complain about 'ambiguity.' This cooler offers comparable performance to the CAFA70 and a lot of other high-end coolers. Wonderful bang/buck for Intel coolers - Sunbeam Core Contact coolers provide greater bang/buck for AMD builds.

Comment:
Cools extremely effectively my E6600 is at 30C after over-clocking by 800mhz. Ahead of more than-clocking it was at 18C. Really large, most likely why it cools nicely. Significant diameter heat pipes. Possibly a tiny loud at total speed, though quieter than my earlier cooler. Comes with thermal paste and resister cable to decrease noise. Easy to set up.

Pros:Good Performance for value (when on sale)Doesn't take up too much space.

If looking to upgrade, get the A70. This isn't best value for money when it's not on sale. Works better than stock. Goes on sale quite often.

Comment:
price was right with the mail in rebate almost freekind of a pain have to center it carefully with AM3 and get clips on each side well keeping it centered.works good dropped my temps and it's quiet after setting the fan to DC fan in biosI wouldn't buy this at full price but if it go's on sale and I need one it works much better then the stock cooler but it is huge so may not fit in all cases it almost touches the side of my zalman z9 plus case.

Dropped my temps on an i7-870 to 30c at idle, more than I was expecting. Sounds like a modest jet engine when it gets cranked up. Instructions, lousy at greatest. To say it's major, understatement. Left about 1Μ inch clearence from the side in an Antec 300. For the efficiency, I'll take any glitches and smile all day extended.

Comment:
Overall this cooler is excellent, I would recommend it if it was on sale, this includes everything you'll need, no thermal compound needed as this one is very high quality. The fan is a bit disappointing to see, as it's going to have a bit of difficulty pushing through the dense fins. I would recommend a Corsair SP120 along with it. Temperatures are great. Easy 4GHz in no time.
