Comment:
Dropped my Athlon X2 6000+ Windsor from 62 C at 100% dual-core usage to 48 C. Massive but not also big for my mid-sized tower. I tried to set up the AMD clip without having taking a couple of elements out of my case very first. The relatively cramped space in my Cooler Master Centurion made that virtually impossible. The sheer size of the thing tends to make it tough to maneuver about without ample space. Also, I was really afraid that the heatsink wouldn't align adequately because it was sliding around during the process, but after it's clamped in spot the alignment must be best.

I knew for certain I wasn't going to use the common generic technique of 'pea-size drop' onto the middle of my i5-760. The most effective application for heat transfer is as followsɅ) rub thermal paste evenly on the heatsink surface utilizing a modest plastic bag or drop a pea size into the middle and use a card (this will also let for thermal compound to sit inside the tiny rigs that are apparent among the heatpipes and the plate).2) Apply parallel 1mm width x 10mm length thermal paste in among the copper pipes (metal base).3) Install!By carrying out this, no dips and air pocket difficulties are resolved, and makes certain make contact with is fully established. Some individuals have also wet-sanded to make sure the surface is even much more even (too considerably function I consider). So Corsair really should possibly experiment far more on the thermal paste application approach to see what yields greater results. (Tho persons have currently tested effective strategies).Total distinction throughout

Value for excellent heat pipe cooling. Availability. Size (which it requirements by design and style) (Intel i7-870 with Corsair A50 idle to launching several firefox windows temp variety: 31*C to 43*C)This is my very first non-stock CPU cooler. I had to locate one particular locally and couldn't locate any reviews. Mine may not be very beneficial.. but to those that can't locate anything else. Heat pipe coolers such as this do their job quite nicely. The price is fantastic. I place this down the 1st day and couldn't locate something that worked and was as fantastic. I stopped wasting my time and came back and purchased it.

Awesome cooler and quite quiet. Very uncomplicated set up for AMD. Cord was not extended sufficient to reach power connector so I had to use the regulator extender that came with it. Lowered fan speed from 2000rpm to 1600rpm

Appears nice should function fine on my 2 new msi p55a-gd65 i5 750 systems I am creating Poor instructions have stopped me in my tracks. No info or photos say anything about the plastic cut same and covering the back plate for the 1156 and so on. prevalent sense says to take away it, but it may be there for a cause. Also has 4 black carbon fiber washers, no directions or photographs for what they are for. plate that holds down the cooler has four lil screws to attach it to top of cooler block etc. Once more no instructions. But I can see the holes exactly where it mounts to the block etc. Common sense tells me to attach it. I always applied Thermalright coolers, now I wish I stayed with them. Now I have to wait for corsair tech to get back with me and is holding up my develop. Thanks for poor guidelines. Tends to make me want to return the coolers and tx750 and tx650 psu's with it and not acquire corsair once again.. Now I have to wait sucks.. Manufacturer Response:We have a detailed installation guide accessible through our site. We are sorry if you identified the incorporated instructions and the guide to be inadequate.External Hyperlink(s): Air Series Inst Guide - Intel|

This issue permitted me to overclock my AMD 1090T to four. GHz stable beneath 55 C at my 73 F area temperature. Uncomplicated Set up for AMD CPU's. It still utilizes the old 3 pin connector alternatively of the newer 4 pin, so I had to use a chassis fan connector. Since I only had 1, that was a bit of a difficulty for me. none

What a fantastic cooler!! My stock Intel cooler had my CPU (Core i5-750) operating around 60C on typical. Installed this child and it's been down about 32C for days. Install was simple. None This sucker is enormous!! Probably not the biggest out there, but I had to be extremely cautious with my side case fan as the CPU cooler made it challenging to place the side of the case back on. Not Corsair's fault, definitely; just something to retain in mind.

Materials feel excellent for the job. Absolutely nothing feels as well flimsy. It doesn't look obscenely huge once it's installed in my complete tower case. It dropped my max load temperature from 83°C to 56°. And that's with a 33% overclock. I did not overclock just before I got this cooler! My max load temperature w/o overclocking was 47°. Extraordinary distinction from stock! I also just cleaned and re-seated the stock cooler a couple days before I got this a single, so there was no dust altering the temperature comparison in favor of the new cooler. There was a rebate for this cooler, which made the price really nice. I can't think I was able to drop my temperature so substantially for so affordable! There would not be adequate clearance for my RAM had I had raised coolers on them. But I don't, so every thing fits perfectly. I've been constructing computers for 10 years but generally used the stock CPU coolers. This is my initial aftermarket one. I didn't want to invest extreme funds for intense benefits. But I ultimately decided I wanted much better than what the stock cooler could do.I've had this cooler installed for a week.I run a Q6600 @ 3.0GHz. I've run greater, but I get errors in Prime95 @ three.2GHz following a whilst.

Good build and very sturdy Bulky, which produced the installation type of a hassle. When seated, the idle temps on my i7 950 have been about 36 C, 1-2 degrees cooler than what I get with the stock cooler. Not acceptable.

Nicely constructedPackaged wellEasy set up (for AMD CPUs) This beast is massive. Make confident it'll fit your case. The ends of the heat pipes really touch my side panel when installed. No Interference, but it's tight. If I want to set up additional ram chips, it'll have to come out in order to set up them.Due to the fact it doesn't direct any airflow downwards, I had to provide a little supplemental cooling directed at the VRs. Thanks to yet another reviewer for that bit of information. All in all, a fantastic get for the funds. I'm not a huge gamer or OCer, but I do like to have points cool. This brought my temps down to about 32C at idle and 45C at 100% load at stock frequency, which had been 33C idle and 55C at load. At a ten% overclock with the DDR3-1333 memory operating at 1466, it idles at 34C and runs 49C at one hundred% load as opposed to 39C and 61C. Athlon II X4 635 Propus, 2 x 2GB GSkill DDR3-1333. I'm thinking about another for my X2 box. There was a significantly less pricey clone of this cooler for 10$ much less, but it had copper plated aluminum heat pipes, and a somewhat smaller sized base plate, so I purchased the Corsair. Installation was simple on an AMD processor, but I can see it may be a bit of a chore to install on an Intel MB. It's huge, so again, be certain it'll match. Some experimentation in the orientation may possibly be of benefit. The incorporated manual is a bit sketchy, but a little prevalent sense and some practical experience goes a lengthy way to ease things.

My i7 950 is 28 degrees at idle (no OC) Tall, it isn't also huge, just tall, but it did match in my Antec 900. The instructions aren't very good. Make confident you put the LGA1366 "adaptor" on the back of the motherboard Just before screwing down the motherboard to the case (I had to redo it all). The fan only goes on one particular way, but it left just enough clearance to install my RAM. It's a little challenging to install, I had a friend with me, if I attempted solo I may have been truly frustrated. Overall, if you are seeking for a CPU fan + heatsink combo to cool your Core i7, I would seriously look at this 1 suitable right here unless you are searching for a leading of the line one particular for 60-80 dollars.

High quality develop, clear directions, Amazing cooling!Incredibly quiet, even at the full 2000RPM, silent with the resistor to 1600.Stock temps (no more than-clocking) 37 idle, 60 following only 10 mins of Prime95's punishment. Temps with the A50 are 30 idle and ONLY 43 soon after an hour with Prime95 operating!!! Case temp is 28, room temp 22. only mounts in a single direction on AMD, would be very useful to be in a position to turn it 90 degrees. so it blew at my rear fan rather of at the leading of the case, also blocks access to two memory slots. Just more than 6" tall from plate to ideas of the heat pipes. It fits in my mid tower, but I had to remove the duct from the side vent. Measure how substantially space you have from your CPU to the edge of the case. Also, test match it before you peel the protective sticker off apply thermal compound.

Very good cooling over stock, allowed me to OC my i5 750 to three.three with no improve in temp. Fan casing nonetheless fits more than my mid-size case's heatsink-equipped Ripjaws, but just barely. They could have invested in a quieter fan for this, I saw a noticeable boost in noise over the stock cooler, and my case in general. Soon after acquiring higher-volume, quiet fans for my complete project it was a disappointment. I ended up yanking the Corsair fan off the heatsink's rubber mounts, and replacing it with a Scythe GentleTyphoon AP14 that utilised to serve as my exhaust. Cools even superior and noise is back to acceptable levels for my property workplace. But now I have to replace my exhaust once again... Want I could trade in the spare Corsair fan, in essence the heatsink now fees ม more than retail.

I have this on my AMD Phenom II x4 black edition. Operates great! Keeps the system cool and is fairly quiet. The only con I noticed was the clip seemed a bit flimsy. It shifted the base of the cooler to the side when I applied pressure on the leveler when attempting to latch it. The clip appeared to bend to the side a bit—nothing permanent. I had to just hold the clip firmly in location to prevent it from sliding till it was clipped on fully. I don't consider this to be a difficulty if you are cautious when installing. This also may possibly have been caused due to the truth that my mother board had its personal built in back plate, which might have altered the way the clamping mechanism worked. I will acquire yet another a single if/when I make one more AMD phenom system.

Works as advertised. Very easy to set up on AMD platform. Incredibly Large, My complete tower case is still only just big sufficient with this and my Nvidia 400 series. Intel set ups appear to require a lot more to install. Performs good. Capable to O.C my 965 C3 to three.eight+ with no problems. Heat fins are sharp. I slit my finger finding it in but its worth it. I was not actual impressed with how it seats to my Mobo GA-MA770-UD3. It calls for that you hold it in spot or the copper heatsink could in my opinion slip out of spot in the course of set up.

With this on sale it is a no brainer as a replacement to the stock cooler. Brings down load temperatures significantly and idle temps as well. Comes in very nice packaging with all the adapters and the fan resistor. The heatsink itself is nicely finished with the aesthetic top and the fan is easily fitted onto it. Installation is a breeze.

With This new Fan I OCed the Processor to three.3 GHz and Stress tested the technique for ten mins at one hundred% load for all four cores. The CPU temp reading by no means passed 46 C with this new Cooler!!! I Adore it!! Idle Temp sits at 36 C

Does what it's made for and does it really nicely. Also really effortless to set up and appears Incredibly cool. Runs quietly. Comes with a tube of thermal compound that seemed quite high top quality. General seems to be significantly larger excellent than other coolers I have used in the past and comparable price point. Package incorporated some screws and plastic washers that weren't shown anyplace in the installation guidelines. Use of these extra items seemed optional and it was uncomplicated to see what they have been for. This factor is Large. I have it in an Antec 602 case and it is possibly about 1" from the clear side panel. On this case The side fan could still be installed with out interfering with the cooler

Amazing CPU cooler for the price tag, plus CORSAIR tends to make quality gear anyways. Keeps my i5-750 at 35C, stock cooler could only get it down to 52C. The high volume fan is a nice addition. I wouldn't recommend this cooler if you have a Mid size case or smaller. This sucker is pretty big, the photos are kind of misleading. The documentation was a little vague.

Sort of want I didnt sell my Hyper 212 for this. In no way had my hyper 212 break ever.
