The fan was quick to assemble and install. The fan only clips on to your memory clips. Seems to hold the fan relatively securely in place as long as you're not moving the case about a lot. RAM is noticeably cooler to the touch. Fantastic cost. Following the first couple days of use, 1 of the fans started producing a high pitch whine like a bearing was going out. The smaller fans spin at 5k rpm which may well be a bit much for them. I installed a Zallman fan mate and turned the RPM down to 1.9k. Any greater than 2k and the bottom fan bearing would start out to whine. Nevertheless moves air ok at 1.9k rpm. Hopefully the whine does not return after installing the fan mate, but I am skeptical. I like Corsair memory, but not extremely impressed with their cooling. I am beginning to wish I would have gone with a distinct brand that had far better critiques. My fault for not reading the reviews first.

It was a snap to place on, excellent wow aspect if you have an open case on a stand. It pushes air and I can now overclock my ram like it was intended. Not extremely substantial although...on Corsair XMS2 2x2gb ram modules, from 800mhz to 850mhz. Its loose. You really should bend the clips slightly and make certain you dont work harden the metal whilst undertaking so...or you can secure it with a rubber band about the modules. Mine looks like it was opened and applied just before, which ticks me off. Feel like I paid full price tag for a refurbed product. The dented corner and tool markings on the screw holes were evidence enough for me. They're fantastic, I wont complain until the fans begin screaming at me, at which point I will merely use some clipper oil and lube them up. I could have completed with out the refurbed/full value, that will never occur once more.

Fits well devoid of taking up too a lot space. I was capable to fit this straight over all six memory sticks and still had room for my big Zalman 9900A fan on the CPU. Keeps the memory cool. Spendy

Not challenging to fit, appears to be decently built. My memory is WAY cooler - from also hot to touch to lukewarm. The impact is beyond noticeable. I watercool so there was little airflow from a CPU fan. They whine. I hear a high pitched whining sound that can be stopped by placing my finger on the fan to stop it. I can from time to time hear it two rooms away from my workplace with the doors open. Usually the exact same fan but not always. Worst when cold, gets better after awhile. If I hadn't had to use some high powered fans on my radiator this would be the loudest issue in my machine! Cooling the memory seemed silly but the voltage was bumped and I could nearly burn my fingers on the heatsinks. Now they are ice cold so it can't have hurt. Sadly the fans make a noise that can sometimes be rather irritating. Most of the time they are fine.

Maintain the ram cool. Looks cool, Quiet for a even though. Third fan started out creating a loud noise and slows. Worked good for 3 months then quite annoying. I unhooked it due to the fact it was so loud. Wouldn't buy again. Bought it regardless of the critiques and had the similar issue come about to me. Loud and annoying.

I have had this set for about a year and a half. Inside the very first 6 months a single of the fans started producing a enormous rattling noise. I applied some electrical tape to it, so it won't spin. The other two fans are still operating fine. I don't know how much it is honestly helping A single fan making rattling noises, and is unusably. I got these for totally free with the set of ram I purchased. I wouldn't essentially spend funds on them, although they look nice in the situation.

It's a fan - it gets some good airflow more than your RAM, which can genuinely support retain issues cool, particularly when you're overclocking and don't have the largest heatsinks on them. It's also fairly quiet even though it nevertheless operates. I bought 1 by means of newegg roughly a year ago, and within 2 months, it started to make a grinding noise from two of the 3 fans, unless I opened my personal computer case to wiggle about the problematic fans. I got a replacement from Corsair shortly following that, and the new ones began to do the identical point within a few weeks. When they function, they function properly. The clips to attach it to the DIMM slots are a tiny kinkey, but the moment you get them on, they're sturdy adequate for any typical shipping.I may possibly have just had a few defective pieces, or just some genuinely bad luck, but both of the ones I got had been identical, and in my Windtunnel case, airflow isn't seriously a dilemma.

Straightforward to mount, fits good and snug. There was nothing that required mounted to the mother board for instal. Just install the memory and then mount the unit to the memory clips. Even a individual with little technical understanding could easily install this unit. Significant complications with the fan units themselves. A number of time if my personal computer has gotten moved or bumped in the least I have had to open the side of the computer system and push on the fan to place it back in location. When out of location the fans sound like they are rubbing a wire and are Very LOUD. When this happens there is no visible indications that the fans are out of location so it took me about 20 mn of looking around to come across this problem the very first time. Other than needing far better fan mounting not significantly. It does go good with the blue lights in my laptop or computer situation.

Has a Corsair decal on it, which tends to make it look cool.DOMINATOR..sounds impressive enough....Corsair states "impinging airflow" WOW so what is the CFM? I believed some people today had been just being petty, but these truly are low finish bushing fans. No ball bearings! I stripped down the bad 1 to see. I must not have assumed that Corsair would place a excellent fan in this unit!!My comments about Corsairs description....Ultra quiet? Additional like ultra low high quality fans. 3 40mm tachometer-controlled fans?? Not fairly, only center fan has tech control wire but all three are controlled by this a single. Which brings me to my problem. That is the one particular making all the noise immediately after four weeks and freezing up which sets my mobo low RPM alarm off. Now after only 1 month, Corsair wants me to pay to ship a ศ item back?? How cheep can a company get? Why even ship it back? JUST SEND ME A REPLACEMENT like all quality companies do for low priced items. It is not like this is a memory stick or power supply, it's a fan unit. I heard if you complain adequate they will spend for shipping, but why even bother. Just acquire some top quality 40x40x20 VAPO Style Bearings for beneath ŭ each and every and you will have a good quality cooler but not Corsair quality. I noticed the high egg ratings are from over three years ago.

My incredibly hot RAM is now lukewarm beneath a full load. Looks great, stays attached to my RAM slots nicely. 2 of 3 fans have exhibited noise problems of some sort. Top rated fan has a continuous whir, middle fan rattles when beginning but goes away soon after a couple minutes. This has slightly diminished in the past week or so, but it nevertheless has some noise. Doesn't seem like it must be like this considering that the bottom fan is basically silent. Need to I attempt to lube the other individuals?

Cools memory well, looks decent, and easy install. Operating less than 3 days and the center fan was sqealing like Ned Beatty in Deliverance. I could reside with standard fan noise, but a sqealing fan with less than 30 hours on it is just junktastic. I took of the situation panel and tapped the fan, which helped, but I've had to do that many occasions and have only had the point a couple of weeks. I'm pretty disappointed that a company with a good rep like Corsair would place their name on this piece of junk.In this instance I virtually consider 3 stars is a gift, but it does cool the memory so I couldn't absolutely trash it.

Easy to install, plugged proper in to an unused MB fan outlet. Dropped my reported MB temp by over 10 deg. C, from 45 to 30. Really should come with the MB! I had 3 DRAM stick fail in the last 14 months, two diverse brands. Hoping that lowering the temps will make a huge distinction. ASUS P5B premium Vista MB. Also brought my CPU temps down!

PLEASE RATE THIS AS Beneficial TO Keep IT ON Leading TO WARN Other individuals.I am staying with G.Skill and Scythe. WHY? 1.This was my initially Corsair acquire2. I have had superior service from G.Skill and Scythe for the past 15 yearsReading the critiques and becoming burned lead me to investigate what fan they are making use of. I removed the label and found that these are replaceable with a greater quality Scythe fan for less than the postage to return the unit. Makes you wonder why this model is not listed in the drop down menu on the Corsair web-site when trying to get a replacement. These fans will be discontinued genuine soon based on the new model and the track record of these fans. The misleading component is the 3 year parts and labor. what a joke, I spend to ship and they ship a new one. NO Labor, NO Parts. They know people will be tired of shipping price and getting with no on a 23 dollar item. Nice organization model Corsair. DO NOT Get. POOR MRA TURN About.Must NOT HAVE TO Pay POSTAGE FOR REPLACEMENTFANS ARE NOT Created BY CORSAIR AND ARE CHEEP KNOCK OFFS WITH A CORSAIR STICKER.I am going to maintain the case and replace the Corsair with Scythe ball bearing fans with: low dBe, greater air flow and the total case will be less than what I paid for this soon to be discontinued . I will not have to worry about sending the unit in just about every six months and being without cooling. I just removed the back sticker and dust plug, put a drop of three-in-one particular oil on the bearing. The shrill is gone, but the fan is nonetheless shot and rattles.Subsequent I will remove my Corsair sticker off my custom Lain Li case that is used in a university classroom with Computer system Science Students. 62 students await the outcomes for the remedy to the Corsair Shrill. It has been annoying. can't find the noise or airflow (CFM) ratings anyplace. I have been a program builder for more than 15 years. Corsair appears to have a very good organization model to make itself appear like good quality. BUT, I looked at the ratio of DOA and time prior to failure...effectively it sucks. I created the mistake of falling into the hype of this being a good product and purchased this fan based on the name. What a mistake. The turnover time for RMA is poor, I really should not have to pay postage to return my item. Microsoft, has in no way had me return something and constantly just sent out new. the fans failed correct on target with other consumer complaints.

Industrial strength metal construction. Incredibly attractive, good grip on memory and fairly adjustable to distinct situations. Low profile. My second corsair fan unit over the years with negative bearings. One particular of the fans began generating noise immediately after 3 days this time. Very same infant mortality last time if I remember correctly. Have to destroy a leading label to replace any three of the fans, even though its attainable to do. If these failed soon after a month or two, Id have to give a single egg. Since its a mfg challenge, which came up in neweggs warranty I guess thats a little superior. The last one particular, however, came with some ram I purchased.

Keeps memory true cool, also looks really cool. And if you don't use this, you WILL want to use anything in its location if you run at 1600 MHz. I've had mine two months, and nonetheless silent. It's the loudest component but so what, it's nonetheless a barely-audible "whoosh". Integrates with your domninator memory certainly seamlessly. That is, it doesn't appear like memory with a cooler stuck on top, it looks like it is one, solid, futuristic memory unit ,made from black, brushed aluminum. And in a 4-memory-module configuration, anything fits together so properly that no air pressure is wasted. All of it bounces about the fins an it works its way among the fins, and finally out in between the outermost fins, into the area, which is best. They ought to win a design prize for this thing.I don't see being metal as a con mainly because if its mounted properly, it's not going to fall off even though your computer system is running. One reviewer has a point even though; when he moved his personal computer,it slipped off The unit assumes all 4 slots are filled. You can run it with fewer memories, , but then most of the air blows into the empty space and out the side. It should come with a plate that you snap on for a two-stick configuration, then getting empty slots would blow More air on the two you have rather than reducing it by (at least) half. But that's okay given that I place tape more than one half of the bottom of this issue, now no air pressure is wasted.Other than that, no cons--modulo what I wrote below, in "other thoughts". Men and women here say that Corsair utilised affordable fans which die soon, and I'm positive its accurate, and that's why I only score it Ř eggs". But mine haven't worn out right after two months. When they do, I'll just replace them; they're a regular size. I don't see that as a massive deal. When my CPU fan starts squeaking, I'll replace that also. Bear in mind that this thing is It clips to the memory clips, which keeps it a fixed height above the memory, so forget using it if your memory doesn't have heatsink fins on top rated due to the fact following crossing the major air gap, there's next to no air pressure to push air among the memory modules. Also, your fins can NOT be taller than dominator ones or the unit will not clip on.

Solid, heavy craftsmanship; simple design. On my board (EVGA x58, with 12 GB OCZ RAM installed in 6 sticks) the CMXAF1 did not grip firmly in spite of adjustments with the thumbscrews. I'm sure it won't fall off, but we all hope for that snug (but not crushing) fit for elements. And for other stuff. :-). I don't assume having Corsair RAM would make any difference, contemplating where the fan bracket makes make contact with (below the RAM clips). Appears like a fine choice for this sort of item. As noted, it is not installed on Corsair RAM.

Keeps memory cool by 3 fans covering all memory modules. I have only 2 modules and was able to have all sticks cooled down. A affordable way of cooling down a important portion of your method. Didnt notice improvements, other than temperature and with lower temps you can expect a additional stable, longer lasting product. Even so two weeks immediately after installation, a quite annoying noise began to resonate from my case and ended up being the middle fan on the memory cooler. To some it may well be annoying adequate to jus take it entirely out, but for me I will maintain it on. Other than the noise its a wonderful item, nevertheless it is hard for me to recommend as there are other memory options out there to play with.Installation was straightforward and stays in spot. I traveled with my rig and the memory cooler stayed in spot :)

Cools rather nicely. Pleanty of lead on the fan connecting wires. Well created for DDR2 & DDR3 memory As posted on other critiques, assembly slides off the ram clips genuine easy. ---Putting this thin rubber on the fan clip help is what I suggest as a fix to preserve from slipping off. Works for me!---I would suggest product modification to exactly where the clips are currently mounted to the fan. Then have the clips bent inward to have tension. Finally, some sort of thin rubber mount on the bottom of the clips exactly where they clip on to the ram clips.

- The fan's power cable to on 1 side of the product, generating cable management easy- Three fans promote airflow across all parts of the memory chips, not just the center The way the product is installed on memory chips seems a tad flimsy. The cooler has two metal bracks on every single finish that literally clip over the memory retainer sockets on the motherboard. It doesn't feel secure, but it has but to move on me! General, this is an superb item. I have in no way had a single difficulty with corsair goods be it memory

the screws and case The fans!!! what junk!!!!Ultra Quiet till you open case to see if they are operating. Two fans stopped turning so I helped them with a little nudge. Within seconds the "Ultra Quiet" was gone, much more like a shrill. Now I know they are turning at least. Half hour later...the noise stopped and so did the fans. Now I am past the 30 day point so I rebuilt with superior high quality fans and they perform greater than new.Is there something that Corsair puts their name on worth getting???Supreme Cooling for Extreme Overclocking???? I do not assume I would trust these out of the box to cool or overclock till the fans get replaced with greater high quality fans. Forget RMA, if this is they type of fans they use. You would consider Corsair is synonymous with good quality or the reality that these are cooling memory (their flag ship item) that they would use far better fans than these cheep knock offs.
