I purchased this fan December 2007 from Newegg and it's been operating 24ǝ ever since with the exception of removal/reinstallation during rebuilds. It has outlasted 3 power supplies and stayed in my method longer than just about any other element. As described, the brackets look flimsy but they've in no way come off unintentionally or shifted at all and my laptop is moved and/or banged about "often". This isn't cryo or liquid cooling right here people. They're 3 silly little fans that maximize airflow onto your memory sticks. They do that. 'nuff mentioned.

Fans do a terrific job of cooling memory. Performance is not questionable for me. I have owned 2 in the past both failed on me within two months of installing. *HOWEVER* (read other thoughts) I RMA'd each terrible fans and corsair sent me 2 new ones. I have installed the initially of the 2 and have been running it for numerous months now with no noise, no difficulties. I noticed they have place some sort of ID on the new fans that were not on the old ones which indicates there need to have been some effort to step up the excellent assurance of these items.two stars knocked off because there are poor fans out there. For the fans that do not wail like banshees after a month although I would give 5 stars.

This item seemed like a very good idea and the memory stays cooler indeed. This assembly includes really poor excellent fans. They are sleeve bearing fans turn into incredibly loud immediately after only a handful of weeks of usage. The mounting method is ok, though a small wiggly. In my opinion, you're much better off with some property concoction to maintain your memory cool. All round high quality: Trash. Decent, but for that built excellent not worth maybe Ū.39, not ว.90.If you're seeking to cool your memory invest your ศ on a decent ball bearing fan from a reputable company, secure it over the memory with cable ties and by no means worry about it once more!

Easy installation, very good cooling, can use it with any memory modules wished it was a tiny much more very, but is ok, I guess. applied it with my patriot memory 4gb at stock. Just make positive you have a 3pin connector on your motherboard for the fan connector.

This is the unit I began to get 'till I realized Corsair has a newer model CMXAF2 also stocked by Newegg that uses two, somewhat bigger fans and it's made explicitly to cool six RAM strips. The CMXAF2 must be both much more effective and quieter. This unit has been criticized by some as a bit noisy. But the largest drawback is that it's just not Corsair's latest and greatest.

Uncomplicated to install, nice extended cord to attach to any fan energy supply you like. It works nicely when it operates Following about 45 days of use, 1 of the fans began a high pitched whine that is unbearable. The whole fan assembly is low-cost, the fans are cheap, and they are LOUD even out of the box - in my cooler master 932 tower with stock fans, the corsair CMXAF1 is the loudest issue in the package. Poor good quality - I ought to have heeded the other reviewers - this point is nearly assured to break immediately after 2 or 3 months use. Honestly, I anticipated significantly better from Corsair, supposedly a premium brand.

Simple to setup. Compact design. two pieces of spot holder would have been superior with a high temp silicon wrapped around where it grips the memory locking mechanism for better fit. Fan components employed are inferior to the projected Corsair brand has constructed himself into. With a H50 and combined 2 sets of 6x2gb (TR3X6G1600C8D) setup, my airflow is compromised about the CPU/memory location on my X58 SLI board. Sadly, failed bearings appears to be of a frequent problem with this item. Possibly a poor batch, but ought to have some QC for their complement accessories. Perhaps an inter changeable fans that would enable ez replacements taking into consideration there are three fans. Accompanied with standard 40mm size fans replacement would be ideal for superior customization. Will have to shop for other option now.

This is the 2nd I purchased. Just installed this on my son's rig, even though I've had it virtually a year in package. Was initially a backup to ş just in case but went ahead & produced use of it.Under no circumstances a prob and has kept my RAM good & cool. Will be on the next construct list. Notta To: Corsair - Don't cease making them. To: NewEgg - Don't stop promoting them. Yeah...the way it attaches is a bit odd but have never ever had any challenges.

Cooled my Ram down considerably and keeps it cool. I was having some random lock ups beneath higher loads and lengthy gaming sessions due to heat. This fan fixed my problem. Nice clean look and doesnt have any annoying bling lights. Clip is a small bothersome to install but not as well undesirable. I reccommend tightening one particular side down (bottom), installing it, then tightening down the other side (top). Also, be cautious not to clamp the clip as well close to the energy cord to protect against a attainable brief later down the road from rubbing. I want I would have bought this sooner.

These babies let you know they are operating when they make a distinctive sequel. When the noise stops, so do the fans wait a month or 2 to post your love for these, that is generally when the trouble begins.I can not think these are nevertheless on the industry Manufacturer Response:Please note that the coolers are covered by warranty. The 3 fans spin at more than five,000 rpm but nearly silent. The 'bracket" the fans are mounted in also act as a heatsink. The lowered my temps on the 4 sticks of Corsair XMS ram by 6 to 10 degrees, based on how considerably I overclock. I had an OCZ memory cooler and one particular of the fans went out immediately after 8 months . Not free and the shipping costs. As some have mentioned the mounting clips can be a small loose but you can bend them slightly to fit snug.

The value is acceptable... the temperature drops it offered had been sufficient to permit correct overvoltaging of the RAM. Noise noise noise. Even though it felt like it was robust, and the connections seemed to work nicely (the clips did look a bit awkward at very first)... the noise is just horrendus. An individual else pointed out that immediately after a whilst it sounds like there's a chainsaw in your case... spot on. I now own a two-stroke powered memory cooler. It uses cheapo fans, near as I can inform, which is a darn shame. File this obtain in the "it seemed like a very good concept at the time"It will stay in this case till I find a suitable alternative...

Quite fairly....till it's not.Appears kinda cool. First one began creating noise right after about 2 weeks. RMA'd it.Existing fan started to get noisy after about two weeks.Could bump the side of the personal computer case and noise would cease. This stopped functioning immediately after about a year. Removed fan. On bottom side there is a black sticker over the center of every single fan. Peeled sticker back, removed smaller rubber stopper, added a drop of 3 in 1 oil. Place stopper back in and recover with sticker. Did this for each fan. No more noise.

Excellent cooler for RAM, lowered my CPU temp as properly, was shocked! Quite quiet fans, was expecting this cooler to be Incredibly loud but was shocked on how quiet it was. Clips to hold it on rely on your RAM slot clips, but like other men and women have mentioned it would take rather a bit of force to knock it off. (not seriously a con) System Specs: Antec 900 Case, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield, Scythe Ninja two CPU Cooler, EVGA nForce 790i Motherboard, 2x 150GB WD Raptor Drives in Raid, 2x 9800 GTX 280 Superclocked Edition in SLI, Corsair RAM cooler, Zalman MFC2 Fan Controller, Sound Blaster X-Fi Fata1ty

My system has 16 FB-DIMMs. Which are Really hot. They are at 80C idle and 115C below full load (without overclocking). As far as I've observed, there are no heatsinks that perform for FB-DIMMs that don't need removing the heat spreader (which would void their warrenty).Obtaining exhausted every single other choice, I decided to give these a shot. And they have been remarkable! With three of these side-by-side (leaving 1 ram slot of breathing area in amongst every single), the ram went down to 55C idle and 85C complete load. That's 30 degrees!!! Not only did it resolve my ram overheating problem... it looks genuinely cool. ƙ little circles spinning in my case.)If you're running "normal" ram, you probably won't get a 30 degree improvement due to the fact your ram won't be that hot in the initially location. But it'll in all probability nevertheless be substantial. As pointed out before, they can slide around a bit, but if you tighten them enough, they're quite sturdy. I got these out of desperation. And they're a life saver. These don't need to have to be applied with the corsair dominator series. They function for any ram as lengthy as they aren't too tall. And they operate fantastic for FB-DIMMs - which seem to want them the most...Who mentioned you can't use overclocker gear on a server board?

Keeps papers from blowing off desk. When installed the shrill of the cheap fans let you know it is working. When the shrill stops, so do the fans and due to the fact it cover the memory modules, ventilation is restricted and memory gets hot.Corsair would not send a replacement unless I shipped it to them. Soon after a couple of e-mail of me giving examples of other main Pc component firms never ever requiring such a low cost item be returned or getting to pay to ship a defective item for return, Corsair sent me an RMA and shipping label.I shipped the fan on 09ቭ񳏊, it arrived at San Pablo, CA on 09ቲ񳏊, exactly where it still sits 6 days later as "In Transit"I named UPS at the San Pablo, CA hub and asked why the package was not out for delivery. I was told that Corsair has a trailer that gets sent to the Corsair RMA hub when it is full. I guess it should not be as well long just before the trailer is complete if the excellent of Corsair merchandise like I received is an indicator of the organization excellent control.NO EXCUSE FOR THIS DELAY

Well, it undoubtedly cools the ram (when it is really on the ram). A single day at Corsair, someone shouted, "Hey guys! What if we had a cool hunting bank of fans that could mount on top of our DIMMS and whisk away the heat from the modules?" Everybody scratched their chins and smiled approvingly. One particular lone voice arose through the din of praise: "Hey, there's truly not a spot to mount a bank of fans over the dimms." Everyone stared at this man, smiles fading away. The next day, all of his belongings were waiting in a cardboard box outside of the Corsair office complicated. This device would be amazing if you could securely mount it to your memory. As it stands, you just plain can't. The "system" they've conjured up is ridiculous. The fan can slide from side to side no matter how tough you torque the screws which tighten the clamps. It's just an impossible job with no getting able to physically bolt the fan frame to some thing on the case or motherboard. I study all the other reviews, and I really should have listened. Manufacturer Response:The clamps are created to hold the memory cooler in a steady fashion. If you are getting difficulty or believe it to be defective, we'll replace it. Does a great job cooling when the fans spin right. Uncomplicated to set up These small fans stopped functioning proper only a few weeks right after installing the unit. At initial they started making this awefull bearing grinding variety noise for just a couple of seconds when beginning up. Now it's undertaking this for several minutes on beginning. It's really hard to think I have a dozen 120mm fans and these tiny fans are WAY louder than the complete lot. These are the worst good quality fans I've owned, and I have bought many dozen. The noise they make is embarrasing and incredibly annoying.I would not suggest this unit.
