This is a great cooler. My overclocked 2600K stays cool even below heavy loads. It's quiet and appears to be durable. The install was a nightmare. Corsair likes to say it's compatible with the 1155 chipset and that's not entirely a lie, but it's not exactly sincere, either. I had to do an immense quantity of jimmy rigging to get it to fit, and the back plate nonetheless didn't fit very appropriate. You need to most likely have 2 people today to get the actual cooler installed more than the CPU die as nicely, mainly because that was a chore and a half. Make positive when you place the topside bracket you completely punch down the plastic fittings before screwing them in. The manual seemed to imply that I shouldn't have carried out that, but you have to. This is a great cooler, you just have to get previous the fact that it's a looooot of work to get it installed, and you require a large situation in order to residence it. If you want an uncomplicated install with an 1155 chipset, the H60 is naturally compatible.

Effortless installation. Good cooler as a replacement for stock if you'd like to attempt liquid cooling. Radiator nonetheless as well modest for any really serious overclocking. Many air coolers beat it for cooling overall performance ( Megahalems, Tuniq Extreme, Zalman Performa .... ). To get any overclocking cooling out of it you really have to shove a lot of air via the radiator (i.e. noise...). I would save your income and create a custom 1ǘ" tubed liquid cool process with a Heatkiller heatsink and large radiator rather than attempt to overclock with the H70. If you just want a standard liquid cooling answer rather than utilizing air (why ?), the H70 will suffice.

Dropped temps by about 20 C. so far so very good! Huge! LIKE IMMENSELY Large! The overall performance is genuinely great, I had a half decent soon after market place cooler and it dropped the temps by 20 C under heavy load!I have a significant-ish mid tower situation with best venting (Rosewill Destroyer) and the radiator was way also huge to fit. tried to vent it upwards with no luck. I had to cut out a few cm2 on the back panel to run the radiator to the outdoors of the situation. Fortunately the hosing has adequate length to do it and I have carried out this type of mod prior to. If not it'd be going back. Do what I didn't do and verify the measurements if you don't wanna be disappointed or have to pull out the tin snips and dremmel!

*Super uncomplicated to set up.*Maintenance cost-free! *Keeps my overclocked six core CPU super cool, even at total load.*Easy (and affordable) to upgrade for greater cooling ability. *I've purchased and accomplished this twice now (for two various computers) and nevertheless have installing the issue. Far better wording on the instructions are necessary. Don't tight the ring AT ALL till immediately after you've turned the waterblock a single quarter turn per the directions. If you tighten the ring 1st, it will be a important pain trying to turn the waterblock. Some uncomplicated upgrades can be produced here (listed in order of difficulty, easiest to most difficult):*Swap out the stock fans for aftermarket 120mm fans with a high pressure rating, this will push a lot more air additional effortlessly via the thick radiator greater, and therefore keep your CPU cooler.*Remove the included thermal grease and apply some MX-4 or AS-five thermal grease, this will yield a Significant temp improvement. The pre-applied thermal grease will work great, but applying new thermal grase on your own will get better benefits (there's also significantly pre-applied thermal grease on the waterblock)*Lap the water block surface.

- Looks good. - CPU Fan Failed error.- Wonky placement. Incredibly awkward setting up.- I don't know if mine was defective or not.. but my i5 2500k was operating at stock settings 45C idle? My Prolimatech Megahalem was pulling off 25C idle in my final setup from the get go and got cooler as it was burned in. - Just not worth the price tag when compared to rivals. Just do your self a favor and pass it up. Make it simple on yourself and get a good heat sink from Noctua, Spire, or Prolimatech and reap the rewards of sub 25c idle and under no circumstances going above 55C on load on tension tests. Manufacturer Response:Based on what you have posted it sounds as if you might have some element other than the cooler itself contributing to your matters. Cools and keeps the cpu cool. What else can I say. At complete load on a non OC i7 950 the cpu cores stayed about 47c. I haven't tried it with the fan resistors however to slow the fans down a little. The fans are a small loud. I will need to put in the resistors to slow the fans down to see how considerably that helps with out causing the cpu temps to climb. Also the radiator is enormous. On my Cooler master Storm Scout I had to replace the top rated fan with a 120mm fan to get the radiator to fit the back fan place on the situation. Easy to set up, the moment you have produced sure of all fitment problems have been resolved. Good cooling, even though a small on the load side. Wish it was a lot quieter thinking of it is liquid cooling.

My i7-950 overclocked to four.0ghz would hit 84c using a Titan Fenrir cooler. With this the idle temps are about the same @ 40, but under full load it maxed out at 72c with the h70. Directions are fairly vague. Lots of pics, which aid, but lacks explanation. This is my third h70 set up, extremely uncomplicated to do now. As other people have stated, just get the screws started. Then install the block and tighten. Easy as pie.

It IS quieter then the stock hsf that comes w the 1090t.1090t-249mhz fsb x 16 multi w 1.4v vcore. With stock hsf I was seeing temps at idle 7-9 degrees celcius above room temp. With this cooler I am seeing three-4 celcius above space temp.Operating p95 on all six cores w stock hsf I would hit 62c inside 5 min and have to shut down the prog to steer clear of killing the chip. With the h70 my max temp observed was 56c in the course of a 2 hr p95 run.TIM used was whatever was on each and every from the factory. So not an wonderful cooling system like others have tried to claim on right here but a quite respectable one particular at least. Mounting the pump is a actual pain, you almost will need three hands to hold the back plate against the mobo although pulling out the mounting ring and twisting in the pump without touching the cpu and smearing the TIM all more than but is potential to do with a tiny patience and dexterity. I applied the doublesided tape/pad that comes with to hold the backplate to the motherboard but did not pull off protective peel on the mobo side as i didnt want that garbage stuck to my mobo. It would have possibly been an simpler install although if I had done as directions stated and removed both sides of protective peel on double sided tape. Minus 1 egg for the somewhat tedious install method. I tried moving much more air across the radiator to lower my temps and it did not make a difference at idle or load so its a matter of moving far more water which limits this cooler. Some lapping of the pump face and cpu and a better TIM would probably net you some lower temps but whats the point? This cooler seems to me to be created for the typical overclocker like myself not the extreme overclocker. The truth is the extreme overclocker would just build a custom cooling process anyways.I very advocate this cooler to anyone wanting to do mild overclocking or any individual that just wants a cooler/quieter setup then the stock setup for the 1090t.Also, temp sensors were reporting an ambient temp of 80.5 f while I know for a reality that ambient was 72 so all sensors were possibly off by that quantity meaning my idle and load temps really should almost certainly be adjusted accordingly by -three to -five celcius from reported. Im content with them regardless.

Coming from a monsoon air cooler and a case operating five 120mm fans that sounded like a little jet taking off just about every time you fired it up, this is a good option. Not only is my rig close to silent, but I've also managed to hit 3.9GHz with my 920co and still be inside temps that leave me feeling comfy. Overall, at 3.9, I'm getting the very same temps I had at three.36 on air. 39c idle and 68c full load. The finest I could ever do on air was 3.6 with idle 45c and load 80c. That was warmer than I wanted to run for daily use. If you have no experience with builds, I wouldn't recomment this. The documentation is alright, but could be substantially greater. I would suggest reading some of the evaluations on here and at corsair prior to starting. It will save you some severe aggravation. I've noticed the list of evaluations stating damged or defective units. Mine was in perfect condition when it arrived. I just hope the unit has some longevity. I'd hate to have to replace my strong performing 920 just before I'm prepared to do a complete upgrade. As constantly Newegg is merely the finest!

This thing is Great! I'm running an AMD 1090t at 3990mHz and it stayed steady at 40c running prime95 for more than 7 hrs. If you plan to overclock your Computer, the pricetag is well worth it. Installation kinda sucked. Make confident you check your mobo for any connections that the radiator may possibly block. I have an MSI 890fxa-gd70 and the 8-pin connector is directley below the radiator.

This cooler does a good job cooling. I have an i7-920 at 3.9ghz. Prior to I had the Noctua NH-U12P SE2, which is currently a excellent cooler, but the H70 got me 5C cooler while idling and eight-10C cooler when fully loaded. After five minutes with all 8 logical cores at 100% the highest core temp was 51C in a room that was 76F. This factor was a pain to install. A lot of cpu coolers are a discomfort but this one was worse. I have a Xaser VI which is an ATX Full Tower and it barely fit (technically it did not fit). There was only one orientation I could place the radiator in without the Power Provide rail receiving in the way. But then the power cable for the for the CPU was in the way so absolutely nothing genuinely worked. It took some force to get it in spot. Also I had to remove the lock on the case door for it to shut. That's not a large deal if you maintain your system open, which I typically do.Lastly it is pricey. Check your dimensions prior to purchasing

Wow.... Initially time building a computer technique, and when I saw this I said well.. If you're going for the finest why not go for the overall very best!High quality make is good, there is no way you'll force it open and spill all the contents (unless you really really attempt to) For 1st time builders, it becomes a bit complicated as to how considerably 1 has to screw the bracket in, in order for the bracket to have adequate space to press the cooler and lock it. I built my brand new laptop or computer with this cooler (all items from new egg) and I should say its crazy very good! It gets tricky when installing it in an Antec Lanboy chassis, with a gigabyte x58usb3 because there is basically incredibly small space on exactly where to put it. And I could not locate Anywhere instructions on how to install it, until I removed the back fan. Over all, wonderful item, great efficiency, I'd wish the fans had LED's as nicely, but oh nicely.. those can be quickly replaced.
