CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W Power Supply
Cons: -A bit expensive, but not much

Pros: +Quiet+Lots of connectors+Modular+High Efficiency
Comment:
I wanted a quieter and more efficient power supply for a new system. I got this unit with a price match(ty ncix) and it has been great. There are lots of connectors and the unit is far quieter then my last PSU. I highly recommend this if you have a higher end system or want extra power overhead.

Cons: None.

Pros: Everything! Awesome Power Supply. Quiet. Plenty of Modular Cables. Quality Build & Great 7 Year Warranty.
Comment:
You won't find better in this category. Cable management is a snap. Lo-o-o-ve it. Best I've owned bar none. Bought to replace OCZ 850 GameXstream piece of crap that never worked right. You won't be sorry.

CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W Power Supply
Cons:Was a pain to finally acquire, but it's no fault to the product - just NCIX...

Pros:powerfulstablemodular
Comment:
I can only reflect the others reviews.A strong 850 watts.Modular.Oodles of connectors.Stable.7-year warranty.Long cables.Quiet.The 24 adn 12volt cables for the mobo are VERY long. With the Silverstone 850w i had for a bit, i was forced to use 8-inch extensions for those cables in my large HAF 922 case; from the bottom of the case, back around the motherboard, and over the far top corner. The Corsair does it with more ease and with length to spare. Quite a feat. It's very quite, and the 12v line never deviates more than 2.2% during gaming sessions. The cables are all black and roll flat, which keep the case tidy. They're all plenty long, but the sata and molex connectors are arranged a little strangely: four on a single cable, two facing on side of the cable, two facing the other way, but staggered. left-facing, right-facing, left-facing, right-facing) so it was a bit weird to roll and tuck them at first.Since NCIX website claimed it wasn't available until JULY, i opted for a Silverstone. This one ended up being available 2 weeks later, and the RMA has cost me another $40 or so. So i feel a little cheated. But i got a good pricematch, and it was still worth the fuss.Very impressed.

Cons:None

Pros: Tons of extra long jet black cables. Modular. Bottom mount.
Comment:
Right out of the box you can see that corsair has held nothing back when it comes to quality. Loads cables for any configuration you can dream of. If you also have the Corsair 800D you will appreciate the extra length they added to all the cables. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-07-10 08:07 PM

CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W Power Supply
Cons:Had to RMA my first unit due to an audible coil buzz that ramped up noticeably when under load.Second unit is much quieter, with no noticeable increase while loading the unit.

Pros:Highly efficient, highly stable power. 850w of it.6x 6+2-pin PCI-E cables for up to 3 GPUs.Modular. Very easy to plug in only the cables you need.Flat black cables. Attractive and easy to route.Quiet 140mm fan.
Comment:
See strengths and weaknesses. All in all, I would say this is a great PSU. I've owned it for 3 months and the 7-year warranty has me hoping that it will be reliable for many years to come.It is a huge upgrade over my 700w OCZ GameXStream. The OCZ only had 2 PCI-e cables and was unstable when using molex adapters for my dual 4870s. The OCZ was also much louder, although this could have been because it was over 3 years old.All in all, one of the best 850W units that should be enough power for almost any user.

CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W Power Supply
Cons:cost

Pros:brand, appearance, efficiency, modular cables
Comment:
I originally had the TX750 and it was working great, but I've wanted a modular PSU ever since I last used an Enermax Liberty. My main reason for upgrading was for expansion purposes (adding more drives and video cards). I bought this over some of the other modular PSUs mainly b/c of great experience with the TX750, the flat modular cables, efficiency, and number of connections. This has tidied up my case quite a bit and also lowered the power consumption of my system by about 5% during idle. I purchased this over the HX1000 b/c the efficiency of this unit is greater than the HX1000. I would definitely recommend this PSU to anyone looking for a >800W modular PSU. Comment:
Great looking power supply, it came with a bag filled with cables and the PSU came in a bag itself, so it's like getting two free bags with the PSU!I don't have much experience with it yet, just got the system up and running and haven't bothered overclocking yet.

Comment:
Well, I did not think I would ever see the day I needed this much power but now I would not buy anything less than 850 watts. I have a 620 and it is so good that Corsair psu's are on my short list when considering a psu purchase. I love modular cables, if you can afford one they are the way to go.

first name brand power supply that I owned. Plenty of power for many of today's powerful i7 and SLI/crossfire pc's. Only cables that aren't modular you need to use anyways to power your system!

CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W Power Supply
Cons:well 1 thing, the PCIe cables that are not moduar, could have been a little longer, they barely made to my videcard on my Mozart TX, but that is not your normal case (with being able to run 2 systems and all), and it did make it to the other side, just not where I wanted it to for better cable management. Other than that: PERFECT. and I cannot really blame them for that, Mozart TX is kinda an exotic as far as Cases go.

Pros:This PSU SCREAMS QUALITY! it is an amazing power supply, every aspect is built solid. Right from the cables (small flat ribbon) to the PSU itself, or the finish on the paint, the fan, everything is perfect.
Comment:
And it's size you ask??? NORMAL! it is not big at all! I took out an Antec 850watt Quattro and replaced it with this, and it is THE EXACT SAME SIZE (no difference whatsoever). I know not much of an upgrade, but my secondary rig also needed to run SLI and so I needed a 2nd beefier PSU, so I upgraded my i7 with this Corsair PRO 850Watt, and my Q9450 gets my old Antec 850Watt. This is a beautiful PSU, SILENT even when running hard (well I never hear it, hear my video cards, but never this PSU), it is the best PSU I have ever owned, and I owned Antec, PC Power and Cooling and Seasonic, and this sucked blows them all away in the quality dept. Corsair did something, and did it right, if they keep this up, I doubt there will ever be a reason for me to buy any other brand of PSU again. CORSAIR WINS. EVERYONE ELSE LOSES.well 7 year warranty too, nobody else is brave enough to do that, cause they know they built CRAP. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-05-09 07:04 PM

Comment:
I bought this unit for a 285SLI setup. It worked great eaven if it had 4 hard drives and 2 DVD drives. this psu is also verry silent eaven under quite a big load. There are cheeper units but the 7 year warranty and modular was a win for me.

This is one of the best 850W PSU available, up there with the Antec SG-850. Depending on the load, can be almost silent. The modular cables are incredibly convenient and allows for great cable management. The 7 years warranty is also really nice. All serious reviewers (Jonny Guru, HardOCP, ...) have rated it highly, and this looks like a safe buy.

I bought this to replace a second dead Silverstone DA750. I couldn't have made a better choice This thing is wonderful.Packaging is very professional, plus you get some extras. A nice metal sticker, and two bags. One for the extra cables, and one the PSU is sleeved in. Corsair really knows how to remind you you just bought something very expensive. The cables themselves are sleeved very well, all the way inside the PSU. Plus they're very long cables. I had no trouble reaching everything in my Antec P182 Case. They also felt more durable then my Silvertsone's cables, and connectors.Very pleased with my purchase.

Cons:- not completely modular

Pros:- modular- sleeved- 7 years warranty- quiet
Comment:
This PSU was more than enough. Bought this instead of the lower wattage because the price difference (after PM) isn't much. The thing is 2 PCIe cables are not modular. I'm guessing because it is a higher end model they expect you to have a high end video card that needs 2 or maybe two video cards.
