-runs relatively quiet-using only 1 fan in push setup-in a position to mount yet another fan for push-pull-set up was a breeze -not excellent sufficient for ocing-copper get in touch with not very smooth-i7 860 steady oc at 3.8 ghz, idles at 46c, at one hundred% load it reaches 90c with intelburn -great replacement for stock coolers-not ideal for ocing

1st off, I purchased this from one more web-site due to the fact it's only 19.99 there. Second, this cooler is very very good for the cost. I use an AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE OC'd to four. Ghz and my temps are: Idle៶-36, Load ឧ. I am incredibly impressed as it lowered my temps by about 20% from the stock heatsink and fan that came with the cpu. ALso, the fan is incredibly quiet, even at its max speed It was only slightly louder than the stock fan's idle speed. None genuinely

Cool. Quiet. Supports fan speed control.Keeps my Phenom II X4 955 to 51C or less even beneath complete load (but I'm not overclocking either). The heat spreaders on my RAM aren't tall, so I had no challenge, but I can see exactly where others may possibly.92mm fan probably not rather as quiet as a 120mm a single would be.Not positive how nicely it would function for intense overclocking. Ratchet clip for AMD sockets is a bit tough to perform with when the motherboard is in the case. I had to insert the clip with the ratchet lever on the side of the socket closer to the PCIe slots, the opposite of the way the directions depict.

Comment:
Straightforward Set up, Fantastic price, additional protection from heat than a stock cooler. Performs acceptably at stock clock speed on a core i5 750, sadly I can't recall the temperatures but it wasn't acquiring more than 65C at 100% load. Presently I have the CPU overclocked at three.six GHz and it does not have the cooling capacity to run at full load with acceptable temperatures. HW monitor shows the temp at 35C at Idle, which jumps to 50C carrying out light tasks like opening iTunes and Chrome. The temperture skyrockets more than 90C when beneath 100% load employing Folding @ Home SMP client. The ambient temperature is 21C, the thermal paste used is ArcticSilver5, and the cooler is set up with 2 92mm fans in a push-pull configuration. For stock clocks or less power intensive CPU's, this cooler is ideal, for anything high performance or overclocked, I advocate spending a little far more. No worries for me, my Megahalems is on its way with 2x120mm fans, I don't think I'll have any troubles with temperatures after that :)

Comment:
Exceptional cooling. Virtually silent. Lighter weight and smaller size that most tower coolers. 939/AM2/AM3 clip makes it possible for orientation in all 4 directions. Includes shims to mount optional second fan. Quiet, quiet fan; exceptional, outstanding cooling. Newegg charges just about 50% a lot more than exactly where I got it - hey, Newegg! Repair that! AMD retention clip required extreme force to flip the lever. This is almost certainly the finest all-around heatsink on the market. It's light weight. It's not the size of a cantaloupe like all the 120mm tower coolers out there. And, if you go to the appropriate location to buy it, it is shockingly cost-effective.Newegg desires to bring it's price down to twenty two, or, rather, twenty one ninety nine.

Solid create, good style Check your case dimensions cautiously. A lot taller than stock coolers. Would not fit inside my atx desktop case. It seems a bit smaller in the image than it really was. Will possibly use it in a tower.

Keeps my Athlon X2 64 6000+ ࿹ watt Brisbane, 65nm) below 60C right after an hour of Prime95. Idle temp = 34C Load temp ᠊C. Stays quiet with rpms below 2,400.Can add second fan if needed. Fan is rather noisy when the rpm's go above two,400. At full speed, noise is comparable to a truck with knobby tires driving down the highway at 55mph, 1ǚ-1ǘ mile away. Not truly loud, but not quiet either. Not encouraged for media center computer's, but hardly noticeable although gaming either. Thermal paste that's incorporated isn't negative, adequate for trial and error. Temps didn't stabilize till the paste set for a week or two, and quite a few heating/cooling cycles. But that's standard for any thermal paste.Suggested if you require a cheap, efficient cpu cooling solution.

Excellent cooling. Big heatsink. Space (and brackets) for a second fan on the opposite side. Keeps my cpu temps effectively under what I anticipated... Direct heatpipe contact for the win It's so heavy that it caused my mother board to bend so that it only rested on the 4 mounting screws closest to it on my instances mobo tray. This was fixed by just bending the corners down and securing them but it made me realized just how major this cooler was! It's heavy

Flexible mounting options. It can be aimed in any of four directions on either Intel or AMD platforms. 1 does not have to take away the MB to mount this cooler, which is some thing I had to do with the bigger brother, the Hyper 212 Plus. Intel mounts find the heatsink positively when the AMD alternatives permit for some movement. Take your time to position the heatsink squarely on the processor just before cinching it down. I purchased this for an AMD mild functionality create that I also wanted to quiet down. The stock AMD heatsink on the 955 quad-core spun up much also higher and was quite loud. Even even though the case is an Antec Sonata Elite, the AMD portion sounded like a jet engine. I ran Prime 95 for an hour strong on this TX3, and CPU temps barely hit 55C at that load. Idle temps have been fine at 35C. The stock cooler wasn't that inefficient, just loud. Now, I can barely hear something, even at leading speed.

Fantastic cooling...dropped my stock i5-750 idle and load temps by about 6-7 degrees on typical per core. I haven't gone above 60 degrees for load however.Uncomplicated installation. I know people complain about pushpins, but this was my 1st time installing a new HSF and I was shocked how effortless it was to eliminate the retail one particular/install the new a single.Fan came attached to heatsink...energy cable was long sufficient to attain 4-pin slot on MB. None Good and shiny heatsink is substantially greater to appear in my case window than the Intel retail HSF!

Value, AM2/AM3 socket compatible. Dropped Core Temps 4-5 Deg. C from stock AMD cooler on my O/C'd Phenom II X4 940. Dropped board temps by getting the hot air up into the case and off the board, where my Antec 300 can exhaust it additional efficiently. Bracket appears flimsy, is actually tough to get clipped on - partially mainly because I retrofitted to an existing build. Removing the closest DIMM gave me adequate room to get it locked down. Don't make the mistake that I did by ordering it from another properly-known online book seller - it took them a whole month just to ship the thing. Spend the extra few dollars and get the good Newegg service.

Quite good cooling rate (with original fan), ideal for casual users wanting low temps, or even mild to moderate overclocking.. I brought a athlon two rana trip core from 2.9 to three.6 and temps remained in the 45-48c range even on max load for extended periods of time. Has added clips for yet another fan, I imagine this would aid incredibly with cooling.. I purchased mine, then it goes 3 bux cheaper the subsequent day.. Bought one from a competitor for about the exact same price tag, was a swift grab issue wasn't thinking about OC, but when I brought it house and realized what my ฤ just got me, I had no selection but to be obligated to locate its OC possible. I will likely under no circumstances get a rediculous cooler as lengthy as products like these exist that meet each OC enthusiast and just plain gamers/users requirements with cheapness..

Wonderful Heatsink. Honestly I believed it was a breeze to install on my LGA775 board compared to those stupid push pins where the plastic can bend and get in the way. Love heatsinks with a backplate it tends to make the cooler feel nice and solid when installed. none I utilized all the thermal paste when I installed. Smoother out the paste on the cpu and then put pase in the grooves on the heatsink

Performs as advertised; overclocked my AMD P II X4 820 to three.five ghz with 30C idle 50C full load. It is big! just barely routed power wires about it. Could work better with following industry heat paste. Was challenging to get to clamp in my already crowded case - I test clamped it a dozen times dry just before I was satisfied, then put on the heat paste. Can't beat the price tag!

Comment:
Probably would not buy another of these push pins as it is sometimes incredibly hard to insert  on top of your cpu. As I was pushing the pins in I almost broke one, which was why i even needed to buy another one. I hope intel makes a better design that doesn't make me nervous to clean my heatsink.

Was capable to take my i5-750 from 2.66Ghz to three.3Ghz @ 1.25Vcore, maintains temperatures in the 50's even when all four cores are at one hundred% utilization. Incredibly quiet operation and was uncomplicated to mount. Initially, this cooler was not executing a great job at all, allowing temperatures to reach over 60C even in idle at stock settings. Then I figured out the dilemma: This cooler is various from other heatpipe-based options in that the bottom portion of the heatpipes are directly flattened and fitted in grooves so that they are directly exposed to the core. Though this novel strategy seems to function well in both theory and application, the base of the cooler was not evenly flat. I utilised a mixture of both 320 and 600 series wetgrit sandpaper to lap to bottom of the heatsink till the bottom was polished to a close to-mirror finish and was absolutely flat. This, along with a generous amount of thermal compound quickly dropped the temperatures over 30 degrees. My idle temp went from more than 60C to only 27C.If I had been to lap the core and upgrade the fan, this cooler would execute even superior.

Functions very nicely, and its not challenging to set up at all. Just adhere to the directions (Pics). Visualy you can get an understanding as to what you need to do. Not really complicated at all. You can location in any direction you want given that your N bridge heatsink doesn't interfear, and also the fan is truly not that loud no various than a stock Intel fan. Not a con but when installing the pins are the identical as most stock coolers, besure that they are not bent outward and get rid of the fan from the heatsink. Quite basic if you just take your time. It took me about 5 mins. the heat pipes are exposed to the bottom of the unit so there are slight gaps but the thermal paste is pretty thick and works finest if you apply in the gaps and perform it about on the CPU a bit to evenly spread the paste. i'm certain however you do it it will function nicely just don't be also shy with the paste.
