Why just me?
Comment:
Dual core 2.8 running with a OEM CPU Cooling Fan - Socket 775 w Advanced Copper Base, temperature max around 60C, replace it with this V8, BECAUSE THE REVIEWS, and it is the same thing, only see one improvement, the sound, so waste 70 bucks. the sticker on the base was peeled off. Thermal gel applied. Fan speed no so good, maybe a faster fan will help dissipate better the heat, Fan control (are you kidding???) put the dial in the fastest (around 1900rpm) and forget about that. 20 cents: the fan controller COME WITH THE NUT to attach to the faceplate

Good air cooler
Comment:
works good. installed in i7 920 chip, but had to modify the case to attach the rear bracket. It wasn't a big deal, but it was a pain. The cooler attaches very firmly, and if you're like me, you'll have to work at it to get it properly attached. OC'd to 3.4, which is comfortable as far as I'm concerned, idle temp for cpu is 29C. After running prime, temp went to about 68C. That's not bad for Air. I doubt it will let me push it much higher before things get too hot, but I wasn't after that type of performance from air cooling anyway.

Cooler Master V8 Aluminum/Copper Heatpipe CPU Cooler w/120mm Fan
Cons:Very big.

Pros:Cools great, looks nice.
Comment:
It's tall so check your measurements. Easy to install with mobo out of case. I also put two 2100rpm fans(130CFM) in tandem (one in cooler and one on case exhaust) and does this thing ever cool my temps are 38C full load on a pentium D (I know upgrading very soon it's nice I can use it on my Phenom II x 4 that's on its way) regular temps with a stock cooler are around 48-50C. I had to take the side fan off my cosmos S to fit this but I wasn't going to use the huge fan anyways since cfm is low on it instead I made a bracket to hold a 120mm fan to blow on my video card.

Worth the price
Comment:
I purchased this for my new build (i7 950). I read the reviews elsewhere and the general theme was that it was good, but BIG... well, believe both. It is a very good cooler and keeps my CPU around 30-33c. I just set the fan speed on full and leave it alone. It is also very very big. I put this in a full tower case, and I recommend you pay close attention to the size measurements before you purchase if you are using anything less. The backplate is a nice design and this fan is very easy to install. Only downside (and only reason features is not also a 5 from me) is the fan speed controller. It is designed to fit on the external back slot space. There is a plate included, but there is no way to attach the fan speed controller to the plate. I found an old hex nut I had here that would fit and it works fine, but there should be something included to keep the fan speed controller in place. Minor issue, though, and has no overall affect on the ability to do it's job.

Buy This CPU Cooler!
Comment:
It looks real cool, and Does a great job at keeping my i7 cool. Havent tried it under any overclocking conditions yet, but, I have no doubt that it will rise to meet the chalange. I do think that Cool master could throw a couple of red leds under that cool looking cap though.

Dramatic Difference
Comment:
I had originally installed my stock hsf from my i7 920, but decided i was going to overclock. After some research I picked up this bad boy and it has dropped my temps over 15 to 20 degrees on my cpu with the overclock. Its tall so make sure you measure, I had to remove a case fan but knew I would be doing so. Comes with mounting brackets for many cpu types. Mine had some bent fins on it out of the box, they are very flimsy but I was able to fix them up. If they were anymore sturdy then weight would be added and put a serious strain on your mobo.

Great Cooler
Comment:
I upgrade to a quad from a dual. This cooler keeps me at about 31 running apps and 40 running WOW. When I shut WOW down the temp drops quickly, I can watch the temp drop. Side bonus it lowered all my temps, north bridge and GPU, by 5 to 7 degrees. Is large but cools like crazy... Get it...

Great cooler for AM2 CPU
Comment:
I've always hated replacing stock coolers on PCs for clients, I just hate it. This cooler came highly recommended to me from multiple sources and I figured I'd check it out. I was not disappointed one bit. First off as other reviews have said, its really big. I have a HAF 932 case and it fits perfect but that is a large case. I'll tell you honestly that I have NEVER seen a mid tower this would fit in. That aside this keeps my AM2 cpu running at around 32-33 degrees idle and maybe a little over 40 running on full load after 3-4 hours. My stock cooler after full load like I've mentioned would max around 62-65 and idle around 43-45. So yah, this thing does the job. As I also said I hate installing these things, this installed probably the most easy out of any I've installed, ever. Check the web for instructional videos. If you have a full tower or don't mind having the side off your mid-tower then this is the best cooler for your money hands down.

Very Good Cooler
Comment:
Using it on a Core I7 860 CPU in a APEVIA Midtower Case. It's BIG! I had to flip the case window so the window fan would not interfere with the cooler. It keeps my CPU at about 33deg Idle 39deg under load (Speedfan reported) with a sys temp of 43deg. Very good performance if you dont mind the size.

Great cooling, and quiet too!
Comment:
32 degrees C on idle and 37 max on load while I play Crysis max graphics on 1920 X 1080 and 8x AA. Excellent gamer cooling unit for processor. It also comes with a manual fan contorl. The knob doesn't come off easily to install as a PCI panel. You just got to muscle through it and pull the knob off for the fan control during installation!

nice cooler
Comment:
I just got this about 2 weeks ago. so far it runs great (very big). i had to remove the top exhaust fan however because of the size. over all i love it and it cools nicely. at 3.5 ghz idle temp is 25 (with core 1 at 39, core 2 at 37, core 3 at 41, and core 4 at 38 give or take a few degrees) under full load after 1 hr cpu temp in the 50's and core temps in the mid to high60's and low 70's

Freakin huge
Comment:
I love how this thing looks and operates but it is freakin gigantic. I have it installed on my i5 and it keeps it running at around 29c average. The lowest I have ever seen it was around 27c, high 33-34c. I will be sending it back unfortunately because its so big I had to take out my side case fan. Do some really accurate measuring before you buy this thing!

Impressive fan!
Comment:
I have this fan on a i7 and I have it oc'd a bit to 3.3ghz and my processor stays around 26 goes up to around 30 when i really make it work but does not go up past that at all. I am really impressed with how steady of a temp it keeps my processor. I would defenatly pass this on to my friends.

This thing is HUGE!
Comment:
Yes, it's absolutely monstrous and does a great job cooling my i7 920 CPU. Idle temp is 25-27 and up to 32 degrees under load at stock clock. This cooler DOES come with 1366 installation hardware which is not hard at all to put together. I like the fact that it's held in place by screw-in-nut rather than clips. Comes with nice stick-on rubber rings to reduce vibration as well. Make sure you have a large enough case to accommodate this, you will need at least a 12.5 inch or more clearance to be able to get your case door on. It fits with about a .2 inch clearance in my CoolerMaster CM690 nVidia Edition case. Looks really cool in the clear window on the side of the case too :)

Cooler Master V8 Aluminum/Copper Heatpipe CPU Cooler w/120mm Fan
Cons:Way too bigInstallation parts were awful

Pros:Great Cooling Power
Comment:
After years of building computers myself and being an IT professional I rate this a 3 out of 5 stars. The reason this is, is because the installation on this heatsink was a nightmare. Good thing I had old parts from past computers I had built or I would have had to send this thing back. The install parts didn't fit due to the screw threads being stripped already out of the box. Other than that this heatsink does a wonderful job spite how big it is. This thing is half the size of my 24 inch monitor. I'll say if your looking for a heatsink that does its job and is almost as big as a football then this ones for you. Straight and simple, this cools my AMD Quad fine but for how big it is, it better or else I would be furious.
