Corsair Nova CSSD-V32GB2-BRKT 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Comment:
Great cost (๛) and reputable. I originally purchased two for a RAID config Ɨ.9 speed rating for windows 7 - the max). But then realized that 60 gig was barely adequate. So I bought 2 much more and added to the RAID array. I now have 4 in the striped setup and get about 800meg a second transfer, and .1 ms access time. Boot and shutdown occasions are significantly faster, but most impressive is the loading of programs, specifically games. Assistance is not so great with the company. Just hope you dont have any issues. I bought 2 more Ɩ total now) in case I will need 2 far more for the array. In case I dont, ill just throw them in a dual external encloser set to RAID0 and run through esata for other purposes (virtual machines)

This worked great. I just applied it for Windows 7 operating program, and it gets a little cramped, but extremely fast and works. My mom spilled a milkshake inside my pc by way of a series of unfortunate events. This, among other parts, failed. I was going to give this eggs, but then I realized that it's not the SSD's fault it got milkshake on it. My mom deserves eggs, not Corsair.

Comment:
Extremely Rapidly tiny capacity drive. I am employing it for an ultra low power consumption, high performance Smoothwall installation; in this application the drive excels; running the transparent proxy really speeds up the loading of pages from a quickly U-verse connection. Smoothwall boot time is under 25 seconds (which contains a built-in 5 second delay and initializing 4 interfaces). Really lengthy MTBF for the drive. Price tag, but with this drive, you have to consider it relative to performance. Not much of a con. These small capacity drives are outstanding for embedded-type computing environments. I am strongly considering 1 for my Wife's Netbook.

Incredibly rapid SSD. It runs cool and quite stready. Everything runs smooth. What a Solid State Drive. You can't go incorrect with this Corsair SSD item. I'm using this for my Acer netbook and I have to say I never ever thought I would see a rapid boot or shut down. I would recommend this to everyone. Corsair has been good with that rebate program. Thank you Absolutely nothing at all

This was a great Obtain, I purchased it for my wife's personal computer and WOW what a difference... Boot ups take Seconds, Programs Load More rapidly, Overall Method Efficiency seems a lot more rapidly...I'M Hooked!!! Price Per Gb still way up there. But If you factor in all the time in a years time that you sit waiting for stuff to load, It truly is Low-cost. I nonetheless Worry about it kicking the bucket, as we are heavy pc users and function from household... Only Time will Tell on the Reliability of these drives...However I personally can't wait till these babies replace Spinning HDD's totally

- ATTO benchmarks on a fresh, vLited Windows 7 32-bit install returned speeds 5%-10% quicker than advertised. Speeds will in all probability return to spec as the drive fills up. Indilinx controller has turned into a nice consumer workhorse. In terms of industry positioning, it's a actual step up more than JMicron-based units, although nonetheless not high-priced overkill for specific applications the way the Sandforce drives can be.- Included "drive sled" for mounting the drive in a conventional 3.5" drive bay is a small cheesy, but does the job. - 32 GB capacity makes this beneficial nearly exclusively as a Windows 7 boot drive. If that's what you strategy on working with it for, then it's all you'll ever require.Do the following and it's much more than enough space:* Use a software program tool such as vLite to lower the installation footprint of the OS prior to the install. Points like foreign language support, tablet support, voice support, etc. are commonly massive space-wasters on most Windows 7 setups. I got my 32-bit Win7 install down to five gigs without losing functionality. You can too.* Disable hibernation and you can free of charge up an further couple of gigs, depending on how considerably RAM you have.* Disable the page file or else offload it to a different tough drive and that's a different couple of gigs saved appropriate there.* Alter your TEMP and TMP environment variables so temp files are written to another volume rather of junking up your pristine new SSD. If you're willing to put in just a small bit of effort into streamlining and tweaking issues, 30 formatted gigabytes ends up being much more than adequate room.Waiting on rebate at the moment.

Will make any technique faster then it ever was. No problems with a 3 year old Gateway upgrade. It will take time and a bit of research to effectively set this drive up. Almost certainly will have to flash the bios. This is a extremely smaller drive. Its expensive for the amount of storage relative to use. The Corsair forum is almost certainly the finest web page up for clear info that I've skilled for a SSD. If you just use world wide web and a couple of apps its an amazing drive . If your upgrading a laptop it will be a whole new animal. SSD is rapidly rapidly rapidly

Fast, quiet, effortless to install.I like that it came with a three.five" bracket My very first drive didn't function. Sometimes the BIOS would detect it, sometimes not. Soon after an RMA exchange the second one works fine.It comes boxed with no info whatsoever. The Newegg description claims a 3 year warranty. But the box comes with no warranty card, and no directions. I probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't have problems.

A great deal. I use this as my root partition on Linux (/home, /var, and /tmp are on a normal difficult drive). Boot time of Fedora 13 Linux and KDE from grub loading to the desktop is 25 seconds.hdparm -t /dev/sdc reports 214.60 MB/sec and hdparm -T /dev/sdc reports 5637.81 MB/sec. The cache time is comparable to my hard drives, but the buffered disk read for my SATA III Western Digital drive is 119.58 MB/sec. A SATA III connection would be nice.

Quite rapidly. Boot time with Mandriva Linux went from about 25 seconds with my regular drive down to 12 seconds. It's silent! I never thought my laptop was noisy before, but the silence is completely stunning.I'm not certain exactly how much battery life I've picked up, but I estimate it's at least 30 minutes.Physically, it's the similar as any other laptop drive, so installation was effortless.Of course, it's OS-neutral. You can partition it even so you like and put whatever OS you want on it. Certainly, 32GB is not massive, so I don't maintain all my photos and music on it. But it's far more than I need to have for the OS, all the apps I could ever use, all the documents I function on, and plenty of music and photos. I'm extremely happy with this drive.

I'm currently using this as a windows xp boot drive, and it couldn't be better. windows loads up in about 10 seconds or so. this is the 5th ssd drive i have bought and i really like the quality of the units. the included drive bay adapoter does not work with my haf 932, like most 2.5 to 3.5 adapters but its not corsairs fault. all in all im really pleased with my purchase.

Installed into an older Acer laptop as the older drive was broken due to it being smacked around too much in my laptop bag. It has given my laptop more response and the bottom of the laptop is only warm where the cpu is now.

Corsair Nova CSSD-V32GB2-BRKT 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons: -not the fastest out there-smaller capacity

Pros: -Good price on weekly sale and MIR-Noticeably faster in O/S boot time-came with bracket kit
Comment:
Have used 2 of these, one in laptop and one desktop, laptop feels -significantly- quicker, desktop is more responsive. Desktop uses SSD for O/S only with everything else on a 1TB Seagate. I'm not too concerned about the low capacity at the moment, just something to gain some experience using these drives, enabling Trim support etc. at a low cost point. Of course cannot comment on longevity yet, MIRs from Corsair tend to be lengthy and/or not at all.

Cons: Too small

Pros: Fast, affordable
Comment:
I set this up for my dad because he kept complaining his computer was "slow". Now I get no complaints just because everything loads so much faster. All he does is office/browse/email so a larger size is not necessary. I'd recommend a larger drive, however, if you do anything that requires space.

Corsair Nova CSSD-V32GB2-BRKT 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons: small capacity, had to do some reseach on my own on how to best configure a SSD

Pros: no moving parts, SSDs are the future as prices are going down, quick boot times
Comment:
I am using the drive as my first foray into SSDs. I didn't want to spend too much but the price of this 32G drive was low enough for me to pull the trigger. I am currently using this as a boot drive with some of frequently used programs installed on it. You will obviously need a second drive for your other files. Also, I believe for optimal performance, SSDs must have some free space so I am wishing I bought a larger drive. I'm contemplating putting this in RAID with another 32GB SSD. I only wish there was more help available on configuring and optimizing SSD use.
