Ram is ram... but Corsair is worth saying something about. I had a set of these die on me after two years and while waiting for the RMA I purchased another set from NCIX and will now have 4GB. Corsair's RMA process is awesome. No hassles, quick and easy I got approved by RAM guy on the forums and got a RMA # quickly. They were out of stock so I had to wait two weeks for them to make some more but thats ok. Oh and I have had lots of problems with ram and striker extreme's... this RAM works flawlessly with this board.

Well, you get what you pay for, if you plan on overclocking your ram don't get these. These are good if you're on a budget though, I got the advertised timing of 4-4-4-12 with v2.1. On a budget, don't need to oc pass ddr-800? These are perfect for you then. Otherwise I'd get something better. Overall, this is good ram with tight timings. If I had the extra cash i would get something better though just for the option to oc if I needed to.

The RAM does work with 4-4-4-12, but you have to run it at 2.1V. Default speed is 5-5-5-18, a bit slow. It also has little room to overclock, the RAM failed easily at 870, while a pair of OCZ 4-4-4-15 runs fine on the same system.

OK, amidst the current overclocking mania, I hear that these modules don't overclock as well as others, but I can't say one way or another. I was looking for a brand name pair that had good specs at stock since I was not planning on overclocking. I've used Corsair's XMS modules before and been pleased with the quality and performance, and when these were offered on sale I couldn't resist. The price was very reasonable compared to my last pair, even before taking the rebate into account. BTW, I received my rebate after about 8 weeks, no fuss, no muss. A very good deal, indeed.I installed them and they worked as advertised. I'm not a big fan of benchmarketing, so I can't offer any insight into the performance of these modules versus others, but for the price they work as per specs at stock settings, so I have no complaints.

When I first put these two into my DS3L, it didn't boot. And then when I tried to put only one stick at a time, one stick booted and the other didn't. It turns out that I needed to go into BIOS and manually adjust the voltage to 2.1V, and then it booted with both sticks in. I was lucky that one of the sticks worked, and I also had a spare stick of cheap RAM especially for this purpose. Other than this, it does what it does.

I had to RMA these sticks twice before I got a pair that would pass memtest. I think the specs are great but I am not so sure about quality control.
