Been working great for me
Cons: I did have to set up the BIOS for the memory, but not a big deal because I use Gigabyte boards so clocking and voltages are easily entered.

Pros: Form follows function. I.E. heat spreaders work well and they look great doing it. Timings were easily found and therefore easily entered into my BIOS. I haven't had any memory related problems that I know of.
Comment:
Great product for a decent price in my opinion. Unless something fries or I start getting errors (knock on wood!) then these sticks should carry my current set up - GA-P35-DS3R, E6750 2.66 @1333 FSB, 4 SATA's, 8800GTS GPU - until I get bored or something signifigant needs replacing. Even if the RAM takes a dump I won't care, it has given me close to 2 years of service and I'll just jump to Intel's new architecture which will need new RAM anyway

Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-8500C5D 2GB 2X1GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL 5-5-5-15-2T Dual Channel Memory
Cons: Being overclocked from the factory, their 1066+ overclocking performance wasn't very good.

Pros: Worked perfectly when I realized that I had to manually set the voltage to 2.1 V and manually set the timings to the proper values.
Comment:
Packaging says they are overclocked DDR2 800 chips. Not sure about manufacturing processes so I cannot say how long they will last.

Works Great
Cons: None. Given my experience, I would reccomend this memory.

Pros: I was surprised to see so many others having a problem with this memory. I have been running 2 GB at it's native 1066 for over six months and not a single problem. Runs cool and rarely ever goes over 90F.I do know that I do not reccomend Kingston Hyper X 1066. It is really only 800 MHz memory that can be overclocked. Your Bios won't recognize it natively at 1066. When i ran it at 1066, I received BSOD's, etc.

badddd
Cons: worked for 7 months and then suddenly for no reason BSOD's would occur randomly, all due to memory issues. Took them out and switched with older ddr2 800mhz sticks and ordered a pair of GSKILL's.I ran as manufacturer suggested 5-5-5-15 2.1V. When the issues started I removed cpu overclock and turned ram down to a variety of speeds, +/-.1V with respective changes, but it failed to remain stable even when underclocked.

Pros: look cool.a side note...the guy that was trying to get the speed up to 800MHz..DDR2 1066 = 2*533 MHz bus clock=1066 MHz. You double the frequency it runs at with DDR2.
Comment:
I am a big fan of corsair products, I love their power sources and my past ram was manufactured by the same. Though I will be hesitant to purchase ram from them in the future, I honestly feel this was one product where QC fell asleep. I still have faith in the brand, but this product is not reliable.E8400@4.0GHz (formerly, now back down to 3.6GHz while waiting on new 1066 ram) on GA-P35-DS3L.I checked the reviews when I bought in May and everyone loved these sticks. I'm glad everyone posted the follow-ups so that I didn't kill myself too hard trying to troubleshoot my computer.

Garbage
Cons: total garbage, complete and total false advertising on the part of Corsair and Newegg. EPP voltage runs at 2.2 instead of advertised 2.1 so if you already have another kit that runs at 2.1 you won't be able to use EPP. So you have to set the timings and voltage yourself, which defeats the purpose of buying memory with EPP. 1 stick died less than 2 weeks after I received it.

Pros: none

Abysmal
Cons: You name it BSOD, picky which RAM slot they work in, wont clock to proper speed, naturally underclocks without you knowing and a slew of other issues. Replacements were UTTER disasters and gave a slew of issues I found appalling.

Pros: Slightly faster than other memory DIMMs.
Comment:
Some other brans are strongly perferable, I like corsair alot but these sticks are paper weights. Out of the hundreds of computers I've built these give me the most problems.

Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-8500C5D 2GB 2X1GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL 5-5-5-15-2T Dual Channel Memory
Cons: Nothing but BSODs and other problems. No matter whether set at "system defaults" or "manufacturer's specs".

Pros: None... Abosuletly none...
Comment:
I first purchased two 1Gb sticks (ver 1.2), and later added two additional 1Gb sticks (ver 2.3). This was before learning about the two different versions (one was spec'd at 2.15 v, the other 2.20 v). I later purchsed two 2 Gb sticks of Corsair Dominator (PC-8500) RAM for another system. And, have tried switching the RAM back and forth, for what has now been quite a few months. I get nothing but errors and problems. Once in a while, either of the two systems will seem to work stably, but then, for no specific reason, will return to BSODs and many other problems.

Cons: as mentioned before its a litte over priced i think however this is subject to change at any time the price i paid was 90 bucks

Pros: good ram its tall so check your clearance for those of you who use big cpu fans.this ram performs well no trouble with the install its a little bit pricey but it does perform to the specs

Great ram....until both sticks failed
Cons: Both sticks failed within 2 days of each other. In the process of RMA'ing. Corsair is sloooowwwww. Horrible service thus far. Said they received the ram 3 days later then they really did compared to the delivery confirmation. Said to expect 5 additional days of delay (read: everyone is taking a vacation for christmas)

Pros: Had this kit for a while now. When it worked...it worked great.
Comment:
5/5 for when it worked, docked off 2 eggs for ram failure and slow servicing. Seems like I either have back luck with Corsair. Will be sticking with Kingston from now on.

Not happy
Cons: Doesn't work now.

Pros: Worked for awhile.
Comment:
I bought this memory almost a year ago when I built my new PC with all new parts. It worked well up until last month when I kept getting a BSOD, tracked down the error message on a different computer, and found out that it was bad RAM. Since I had two sticks, I took one out and ran the system with the remaining good stick. This week, I'm getting BSOD again, same message. So, in less than a year, both sticks of this memory have died. I don't overclock or run anything outrageous, just your run of the mill web browsing, music, and the occasional audio editing. I have never had any RAM go bad in any other system, I got this thinking it was the "best" from the reviews and now I have two pieces of scrap to recycle now. Sorry, but I will NEVER buy Corsair again.

Works great in my P5E
Cons: Cost; I bought my first pair of sticks last April for $40, now to add another pair will cost me over double that. Go figure.

Pros: Runs at 1066, very stable, no problems.
Comment:
I ran 4 gigs of Crucial Ballistix 1066 in my ASUS P5E mobo for a year and had all kinds of stability problems - every few weeks it crashed, wouldn't POST. I rma'd my mobo, my PSU, was totally frustrated about the problem, but could get no resolution. The only other thing I noticed was the Crucial memory wouldn't run at 1066, only at 800. FINALLY, I tried different memory - the Corsair, and it's been 8 months of bliss. The Crucial Ballistix was RATED compatable with the ASUS p5e, but it really wasn't. If you have similar problems, might try a different memory. The ASUS people knew what memory I was running, but they never even questioned it.

Cons: Not reliable in the long run.

Pros: Worked...for a while
Comment:
So I've ran these memory modules for more than a year then I had boot problems; thinking it was my motherboard I replaced it and it booted again only to encounter the same problems. Now almost a year after that I've come to find that really these memory modules are to blame and don't even run at the advertised 1066, I have to boot them at 800 to even start the computer. DO NOT buy Corsair they must be relying purely on their past reputation at this point.

Not As Expected
Cons: I have had these DIMMs since Feb. 2008.Failure after epic failure I have not been able to clock this Memory even close to 800MHz!!!!! Right now I have it running at 533.4 MHz (5,5,5,15) which is the highest and most stable I can get them to run. I am very upset about this purchase and was thinking about getting the 4GB (2GDx2) because I heard there is a better chance of that running 800 MHz on my MSI K9A2 Platinum Motherboard.

Pros: It was cheap at the time and seemed like a good deal. First RMA'ed because it was DOA.
Comment:
If only I could turn back time and get the 2x2GB package while it was still relatively cheap... As sad as this sounds I would be so fricken happy right now if I could at least run these at 800MHz.

Great Price?
Cons: Doesn't run out of the box at 1066. I still can't get it to run at 1066 despite doing everything both my MOBO and Corsair people have said to do.

Pros: Works Great. not DoA. Hasn't failed in over one year.
Comment:
I bought this ram just 1 year ago and the price today has skyrocketed from 50 dollars to 80 dollars. What gives? I was going to order another set of this ram, but at this price you can get 4gb of RAM.

I thought it was good memory . . .
Cons: Problem is though, after using for a while, caused intermittent BSOD on my father-in-law's build (using Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L). Ran tests, researched forums. Concluded either bad motherboard or bad RAM. Installed new RAM (this ram) in new ASUS P5QL/EPU. Worked fine for a while, then BSOD. Ran tests, researched forums. Ordered G.Skill RAM listed on ASUS' verified vendor list. Now works great!! Anyone need 4x1GB sticks of this RAM?

Pros: Seemed like the right memory to buy . . . corsair flyer has "This memory has been verified to operate at 1066MHz at latencies of 5-5-5-15."

Cons: Intermittent crashes and memory errors when both sticks are used. Only one stick, at a time, will work.

Pros: None
Comment:
What a pile of junk. I've never been able to get both sticks to run stable in any system. MemTest98 gave over 10,000 errors in just 3 passes with both sticks installed, but zero errors with just one stick installed. Of course I discovered this after sending in for the rebate, so now Corsair will not honor any warranties concerning their RAM. Manufacturer Response:We are sorry you had an issue. And, the rebate has no bearing on the warranty. We will replace your memory. External Link(s): Corsair Contact Page|

Barely outlasted return/replace threshold
Cons: Lasted 45 days before BSOD, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, stop x'4E' - all indicators of hardware/memory failure. Shutdown overnight, got a clean boot next morning - ran long enough to get fresh backup of HD and order new memory. Ordered different brand this time, hoping for better result. It failed before Corsair processed the rebate.

Pros: Easy install, no configuration or tinkering with BIOS required, no problems installing Vista on a new PC (MB, CPU, HD, video), performance was good... for a while....
Comment:
I believed this to be stable and industry leading brand name and bought it on a recommendation. Probably just a quality control problem, just a bad memory chip. But the BSOD after only 45 days and before the rebate even cleared processing is disheartening. Manufacturer Response:We're sorry you had the failure. Please RMA the memory to us and we'll replace it. External Link(s): Corsair Contact Page|
