Great sound card. Affordable. Quality sound. Does not provide connection to front panel audio for Antec 900 Can't beat the cost/quality on this one.

Extraordinary improvement over my Realtek AC ྜྷ integrated sound, and makes my 5.1 technique sound a lot greater than just before. None of the additional programs operate in Windows 7 Ultimate x86, possibly due to the fact of the exact same purpose for Vista, where Inventive disabled the support for the OS. Seriously, if I had identified that I'd be sifting by means of hundreds of 3rd party applications to discover an actual surround sound mixer because Creative loves $$$, I would've just gone up and purchased an X-Fi. Good buy for XP, but invest the $xx a lot more and just get the X-Fi. You'll thank your self later when you decide to upgrade your OS.

I grudgingly purchased this card simply because my onboard audio was beginning to sound a little weird, even immediately after I tried reinstalling the drivers. I believed about reformatting my machine, but due to mostly laziness, I decided to try an audio card as an alternative. I have constantly been an onboard audio fan, so I was not enthused about this purchase. As usual, Newegg had it at my doorstep in a couple of days. The install was easy-just plug it in a spare PCI slot and run the driver CD. (don't forget to disable the onboard audio in the computer system BIOS initially) I have to admit, I am impressed. I have only been employing this card for an hour or two, but have been rather content with it so far. I had to play with the equalizer a small to get my music to sound like I wanted, but that was no huge deal. The audio from this card is substantially crisper and clearer than my onboard sound ever was. Immediately after buying this fairly inexpensive card, I feel I am sold on audio cards. I could even get a thing nicer when I construct my subsequent program. It wasn't free of charge. Someone in the reviews further down complained about low audio output. I have my volume set to the default 50% and my two.1 speaker setup is receiving lots of volume. I would not dare set it at 100% for worry of damaging my desktop speakers (Altec Lansing ATP3). Maybe if I had a lot more powerful speakers, it would be a dilemma, but I doubt it.

It's a sound card, and it works. I was expecting to get more than some "EAX" effects and a volume knob, but that's what I got. I have no eq, no mixer, nada for mine. I recognize as a reviewer stated prior to that Vista customers don't take pleasure in the similar benefits as XP users, and very honestly I feel gyped out of a sound card. It could be a good card, but I use Vista. And if Creative wants to pull this on people today who just want to upgrade their sound card, then I'm just going to have to go somewhere else.

Low-cost, no rippling sounds that my 680i LT's onboard sounds have. Great sound excellent. None. PCI Interface is what I require considering that my MOBO has no PCI-E x1 slots.

Clear, crisp sound. Deep, clear bass. The sound excellent is outstanding, considerably far better than onboard sound, and at a reasonable price. The 64 bit drivers are much a lot more full featured than the 32 bit vista drivers. It functions flawlessly on Windows 7. (See other thoughts) It utilizes PCI, which is gradually going away, my motherboard only has two slots, this takes up one particular of them, the other is a wireless card. No room for Tv tuner. It is a lot longer than a usual PCI card, be conscious it might make access to certain ports (IDE, floppy, and energy/rst/LED wires on some boards). No front panel connectors. The 32 bit vista drivers are a tiny hamstrung, it will run only on 16 bit audio below 32 bit vista. But beneath 64 bit, just about every alternative is readily available, which includes the 24 bit sound solution, which, believe it or not, makes a large difference, at least to me.Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.8GhzGigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L4GB Patriot Extreme Efficiency PC2-6400Powercolor Radeon 4670 512 PCIeWestern Digital 640GB SE16 SATA LG Super-multi DVD/RW SATANZXT Alpha CaseKingwin ABT-450MM PSUWindows 7 Ultimate RC-1

It functions, and the sound developed is way greater than onboard sound IMO. The drivers suck, for win 7 anyways, I'm hoping they will repair it soon. When I updated the drivers automatically (which i didn't want to do it discovered its personal way to update itself after i turned the automobile update off, probably by way of windows) Anyways right after the update i lost the EQ... I WANT THE EQ BACK I want it back so bad i was tempted to give it a 1 egg lol. So the major causes for the -2 eggs is since of drivers. Why have a product out if you don't even have the needed drivers for it to perform effectively thats what i say.

I'm back to utilizing this card. Located the drivers on Inventive's web-site which had been like the old one's coming thru Windows Update. The name off the file is -"SB24_VTDRV_LB_1_04_0065A.exe" Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Worth/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Reside! 24-bit Windows Vista Driver 1.04.0065. This Driver has the selection to allow "What U Hear" feature. I don't need to clone the rear speakers & route them in the Line-In jack by way of CMSS any longer. The only Con is this driver the playback is - 24-Bit, 48KHz. For recording it's 16-Bit, 96KHz. But I can bet you 100 bucks this driver sound far superior than the new 1's on Creative's web-site or the one particular coming through Windows Update. No Cons now genuinely. I've stuck with this card for 5+ years now & I don't see any other card performing the same in it's price bracket. Besides I'm a budget guy & spending a lot more than 40 odd bucks on a Sound Card is useless. This card doesn't decode Dolby Digital, DTS & You will need a separate connector to route digital audio etc. but I don't need to have all that. New ATi cards do that already natively so if your seeking for digital output sound get a ati card. I'm not confident nvidia 1's do perhaps they also do it. Take it as a rule of thumb. Don't EVER trust the garbage Realtek onboard sound on your pc. The realtek was going at 24-Bit 192KHz but this card even at 24-Bit 48KHz certainly DESTROYS it in sound good quality. There is virtually no comparison. If you consider your Realtek sounds far better than this you need to have to get your Ears checked. Shame on Realtek honestly there's ton's of Mechanical/Static noise when you go about working with the "What U Hear/Stereo Mix" function. I tested on four distinct make high end motherboards. All have this garbage of Realtek & exact same difficulty of mechanical static noise while recording. These mobos cost a bomb as properly with high end solid caps & what not! As soon as bitten Twice Shy. Don't trust Realtek. For LAN they're okay Sound they really should just quit. It's ridiculous.

"what you hear" - Or Monitoring the line-in. My on-board killed the monitor function. 24 bucks and ta da. Properly worth it. It is in the properties of playback not record line-in. Strange but true. It operates. Sounds good so far. 1 Port for Mic and Line-In. Sorta sucks if you want to have both at the similar time. Operate-around leave your onboard enabled for mic. Operates good. I use Skype and want the mic. So it operates good. I plug my headphones in to the speakers and the speakers go to sound card. I am a huge user of line-in. And Vista killing it since of rights is just stupid. See in the Personal computer comes with the port. Eh Why bother having it if you can't use it. Cost Was right and it functions. Not fancy. But does the job. Get the newest drivers. It's all great.

it works (most the time) on windows xp initially card I had lasted me 2 years. for the last year, had some minor troubles with it right here and there. bought this new a single, upgraded to windows 7, and located out there is no assistance for windows 7. really, there is no support at all thinking about their 800 quantity is an automated message telling you to go to their website, but no consumer service. there are drivers on their site for windows 7, but they only function for about 1ǘ the persons from what I've seen in feedback on forums. even when they do, it only supports functionality, none of the "bells and whistles" that would give you any reason to use this over an on-board sound card. so, even if you *can* get the drivers to operate, it's nonetheless gonna sound like garbage and not have any of the additional choices that would give you any reason to use it. i employed to love inventive, but i have to say they've genuinely gone downhill over the years. i mean how lengthy has windows 7 been out, however no assistance for it on practically all of their cards? an individual is running behind right here. also, why have an 800 quantity that is simply an automated message telling individuals to go to their site? very poor customer service.

just installed this 5 minutes ago and my sound is now operating. The onboard realtek sound stopped working all of a sudden, and i had tried practically anything to fix it. I noticed one day that i was receiving sound through the hdmi output on my ati video card, so i knew that i just required a way to bypass the motherboard's sound. This card did the trick perfectly. i do suggest the drivers that a few others have mentioned. google search: "SB24_VTDRV_LB_1_04_0065A.exe" none at all! I got this with Cost-free a single day shipping, and the card only expense me ศ.99. I couldn't believe how fast it showed up

Nice small card for the cost. PCI like all card straightforward to install. Got it so I could get some surround sound speakers I broke a plug off in the back of my motherboard. Thats what I get for unplugging almost everything whilst in the dark and trying to carry off the computer. None The drivers with this as stated on the box are for Windows Vista If you go to creative they have update drivers for Windows 7 so no massive deal I more than looked that.

Speedy, straightforward set up. Doesn't take up too considerably space. Sounds a lot greater than most integrated cards. Functions WITH WINDOWS 7 64-BIT (after downloading newest drivers from Sound Blaster). Top quality is just okay. Included disc has some fairly clunky interfaces for sound, and installs some ugly trial software package that has to be removed. Had this laying around unopened from who knows when. Integrated card in my Pc took a dump, so I threw this in to try. Win7 Ultimate 64-bit didn't know what to do with it, and the disc wouldn't run either.I ended up going to Sound Blaster's web page to download the most up-to-date drivers, which DO consist of Windows 7 help. Installed the drivers and it was carried out. Sounds infinitely superior than the integrated card. A lot far better then onboard sound. Works with Windows 7 OK. It has clear quality sound, makes movies, music, and games come to life when coupled with excellent speaker setup and or great headset. If you do have decent speakers you will absolutely notice the difference right away. Get the most current drivers for Win 7 from Creative's internet site before installing. These comments are not truly cons just a heads up. It is a low end card with couple of attributes. You can't adjust bass and treble like on some greater priced cards. It is not an all hardware based card but with nowadays's processors you will not notice this. Immediately after installing you ought to go to sound properties and set the card at 24 bit, default is 16 bit. Large sound from a small card. Cost to value is fantastic. I gave it 5 stars mainly because I think this is the very best you can get at this price. As for their support, I had to deal with Creative on rebate concerns and they had been great in my case. Responded fast and helped with my dilemma. Windows due to all the copyright protections systems has taken many characteristics away from us. Considering that Vista PC sound has gone downhill. XP still guidelines for sound. ln my opinion Windows sound is now on par with Linux, perhaps even lower in terms of features. Thanks IP lobbyist and lawyers, parasites.
