Everything! Rapid! Barely larger than a credit card! Amasing! none You could have to mod your tower a bit to gett his thing hooked in. These drives dont have the identical screw holes as the common HD's. Or just tape it in! haha. Would still perform just fine I think about.

It is rapidly, but at what cost? I have had this drive for a although. My firmware version is 006 (the newest one). My drive is now getting SDD memory writing troubles that are delaying my personal computer. There is a mini freeze while typing, scrolling or any associated procedure each and every three seconds and it freezes for up to a second. I am extremely upset that the SSD is the trigger of this dilemma. This drive costs a lot of income, but it is not worth it. If you are into computers and generating them effective and quickly, this is NOT the drive to obtain I promise you. You ought to spend your cash on one more product than this one. Worth WAY to a lot dollars. The problem is, the memory writing difficulties do not take place appropriate away. When you start populating your drive with data, it starts killing it. I immediately after some analysis into the matter I found that the more information that goes into it, the slower the speed will be, and the a lot more you use it, the slower it becomes. It is not dependable. I am SO upset at this.

The drive is surely 1 of the greatest ones out presently (non-pcie). I chose this drive primarily due to the fact that it handles each compressible and non-compressible information equally, which Sandforce based drives don't. Although for OS, the sandforce drives could be optimal if you take into account the pricing - but I'm using this as a secondary drive which holds all of my games. Since games use a lot of already compressed data (e.g. textures, music, movies) - it created a lot more sense for me.AS SSD Scores, using iaStor drivers:(Latest firmware 006)Seq read: 269.52 MB/sSec write: 203.91 MB/s4K read: 27.83 MB/s4K write: 60.00 MB/s4K-64 read: 178.49 MB/s4K-64 write: 157.49 MB/sAccess time read: .139msAccess time write: .737msTotal score: 598 While the drive itself is wonderful, the existing onboard SATA6Gb controllers are horrid. If using this drive, it could be far better for most users to stick with Intel's onboard SATA3Gb controller for the time being as it offers quicker 4K reads/writes. and TRIM support (Currently, the onboard Marvell SATA6Gb controllers don't support TRIM). The only factor you'll be losing out is the max read throughput, which isn't a huge deal genuinely.Or you may possibly opt for a pci-e controllers such as the ones from Highpoint. BUT, this adds to the overall expense - which actually isn't justified but. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the drive, but due to the fact I've only had it for a day so far I can't genuinely comment on the resiliency of the drive and its Marvell controller. I've researched and asked numerous concerns concerning these drives given that this was my initial SSD obtain, and I don't feel I'll regret it.In conclusion:- If you're looking for a drive exclusively for OS booting, then I say go for the Sandforce based drives IF and only IF they're more affordable.- Use SATA3Gb (SATA II) for these drives as the onboard Marvell controllers do not support TRIM commands.Oh and don't forget to update your firmware 鱆 at the moment) prior to you do anything with the drive.

Fast, efficient, wonderful for gaming, run like a charm night and day! Price, and also to RC, if your tech level was as high as you claim, it shows only 240 of 256 due to the fact of that thing referred to as the format of the hard drive, it's in no way the precise quantity claimed.

Excellent performance increase in Win7 Skilled x64Straightforward installationNearly zero power consumptionVery small space required Expense.Performance degradation - seems to have been solved but the jury is still out. My system utilizes an X58 mobo (ECS X58B-A2 - see 'Buy this board assessment') running an i7 920 wቨ GB of ram. I run Photoshop CS5 x64 and edit huge image files. I don't like watching the blue bagel spin.Speed-up alternatives were: 1. Replace 6 x two GB RAM modlues wǚ GB modules for 24 GB RAM; cost 軸 minimum; iffy due to mobo/RAM compatibility concerns plus what to do with 12 GB RAM I paid 踰 for? two. Upgrade processor for 迀-1000; a lot more cores and far more GHz - but how significantly improvement? 25%? 50%? 3. Add SSD and put OS + page file + Photoshop cache on it; expense ~軸 which includes SATA 6 GB/s controllerI did š and haven't regretted it 1 second - phenomenal improvement in Photoshop efficiency.Employed Arconis to clone OS drive to SSD - worked first time.Foa system upgrade, the price/performance tradeoff is superb.I'm not sure I would do this if I was constructing a program from scratch - might go with far more RAM and 8ቨ core AMD processor....but that's next year...

Quickly boot, quick load times I had the pausing issue that has plagued so a lot of owners of this drive but I solved the problem. If you're getting random minute lengthy hang ups with the drive, to fix it just move all disc caching to yet another drive on your pc and turn off hibernation for the PC. These two points instantly stopped the challenge.

It is silent & draws very small energy. The most it will do is 120 mg/sec and two of them in Raid nonetheless only do 120 mg/sec. Manufacturer claims 260 mg/sec in Sata 3 and 385 mg/sec in Sata 6. They have never ever come to this. I am very unsatisfied with them! Don't obtain one ofThese till they function the bugs out. They are not worth 1Ǚ the cost; this doesn't include the realityThey are labeled 256g and they show up as 240g. This SSD is a fantastic improvement to any computer system. I have a macbook pro running parallels with windows 7 and it takes about 15 seconds to load into mac os and only about one more 15 seconds to load windows 7. Have not had any issues with it as I have had it for just over a month now and I use my laptop or computer on a normal basis. A small pricey but with anything cutting edge your going to pay for it. If you are employing any solid state with a laptop, I would suggest storing all your videos and photos on an external harddrive. For myself I don't often access my media when I am utilizing my laptop or computer so if you are concerned about the lack of space on current ssds resolve it with an external difficult drive so you can have maximum performance and the space to store all your media as nicely.

I've only been working with the drive for a week so I reserve the appropriate to change my opinion but at 1st blush:Incredible read, write speeds that approach the specifications indicated here on newegg.Clearly getting an SSD had been talking no appreciable temperature distinction to my system. The drive shipped with firmware 0002 and I flashed it to 0006 without having a hitch. What else can I say, it's an SSD drive, it works and as far as I can tell, it works Extremely effectively. None. So far I got what I paid for and then some.

The greatest existing SSD, a notch above the existing Intel, IMO (besides being SATA III) as of initial install. Nevertheless, you ought to do a manual update to firmware 6. (until v6 is in shipping item). The update is non-destructive (backup very first anyway), I did it to my boot drive without difficulty. WEI main HD score went from 5.9 (very very poor) to 7.7 (sublime, and that's on a SATA II i/f) immediately after the update from v2 to v6. None... you have to do the upgrade, but if you're acquiring a pricey SDD, duh.... you have to know enough to check the firmware rev and burn an ISO (see kvetching below). WEI overall is 7.1, restricted by the CPU.CPU 7.1Mem 7.fourGfx: 7.2Gaming gfx: 7.twoPri HD: 7.7 Program: HP 8740w notebook, i7-820M, 10GB RAM.Time will tell if Crucial TRIM is as excellent as Intel TRIM.

Use to be incredibly rapidly on the 1st day.But it gets slower each and every single day. Immediately after a month, the 4K speed droped down to 40MB/s. (Almost twice as slow as my previous difficult drive)Yes, there is a firmware update which may possibly resolve the concern, but there are also system files on my SSD and no time to image, update and reimage. Not returnable 轜 mistake. I should sell it somewhere and wait for the 25nm SSD's or move back to the proven 10K drives. Asus Crosshair IV, AMD 1090T, 4x 2GB, ATI 5850, etc

WOW WOW WOW!!! The speed over standard drives is really amazing. Quickly writes, quick reads, SATA III interface, Trim Support, long warranty Wish warranty was longer though A challenging drive is very easily the single most vital upgrade you can make on a laptop to see speed increases beyond what you thought achievable. Memory is 2nd most crucial if you multitask a lot. I did each, but with the difficult drive upgrade alone, my laptop's windows 7 boot time averages around 45 seconds from login to all systray icons getting loaded. Apps load up pretty quick on this drive.

Cons: none that I can see except healthy price tag

Pros: very fast! Have had no trouble and firmware upgraded without any problems. Continuing to use the Microsoft driver because some users in the forums say they are having trouble with the Marvel driver
Comment:
I had to put on special order but NCIX had it in a week. Very pleased with the drive. 345 Mb/sec sequential and 200 Mb/sec read. That's on 6Gb/sec Marvell controller. Bit of a nail biter upgrading firmware, but took without a hitch.
