Comment:
When functioning appropriately, it works good. I like the management tool and the functions. Wireless will periodically cease accepting new connections and won't continue until the device is reset. This is really annoying due to the fact I had intended to use it for a number of transient devices (laptop, netbook, intelligent telephone, Wii). With only the one laptop connected, it appears to perform fairly frequently though. I can't keep in mind it ever not having this issue. I had been a die-hard D-Link fan till this device, generally fantastic products for wonderful costs. Now, I'm not so positive what brand to obtain next.

Cons:none

Pros:Great SingleFastLoads of options
Comment:
I got this on NCIX eBay outlet as an open box item. Doesn't look like it was used at all. Looks like they only opened it to take pictures or to show someone.I needed this as my girlfriends wireless network was heavly under high load with wireless devices from everyone living in the house and using the 54 G router. Also the single was very poor on the router that her ISP provided her. After hooking this up to the router 10/100 port she gets faster speeds with priority on the network. The single is full bars everywhere in the house as well. On top of all that I was not exspecting this router to come pre-load with all the options it has for the network. This is a very well designed router.

Simple to set-up, Low price tag This router would randomly disconnect from the Internet a couple times each hour. In the brief time that I've had it, it has performed this incredibly consistently. I would have to reboot the router non-cease! That being said, I am returning the item as we speak. Save yourself time and money and don't buy this product! I have been a fan of Dlink routers for a though now. Nevertheless, this certain router is very low excellent and offers incredibly poor connection to the World wide web. There are greater "budget" routers out there at a comparable price.

extremely easy directions and effortless to set up. using any encryption other than wep will not perform with wii or ps3. this is on the other hand a issue with the wii and ps3 and not the router. could go for faster ethernet ports but nevertheless a good product for the price.

I purchased this to upgrade from G to N. You have to watch what you buy when it comes to wireless N, make confident you get stuff that is 300mbs. This unit was straightforward to setup and functions great. Has external antennas as opposed to the newer Linksys models, so if you will need to add a lengthy range antenna your good to go. None I already had a DLink gigabit switch so I didn't will need to obtain the high-priced model with a built in 10럼񲿘 switch. If you plug all your computers into a gigabit switch, then plug your router into the switch you will get gigabit data transfer in between computers and regular transfer to wifi and the net.

Inexpensive, swift when it's working. Very good Signal Strength. Does not manage properly under stress. Have to power cycle it all the time, which in a commercial setting (coffee shop) is in no way a good thing. All people with apple computers generally had a difficulty connecting. This router could be good for house use, if you set it up for your own personal computer. For any place where there will be multiple users connected, go with one thing much more robust.

D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router
Cons:- Uh... integrated dynamic DNS updater limited to dyndns (no no-ip support)

Pros:- Port forwarding ACTUALLY works- I don't remember needing to reset the thing in forever.- Has all the features you expect of routers now (ex. statically DHCP assigned IPs using MAC address)
Comment:
The biggest problem I have with buying routers is getting one that port forwarding works on. I have servers that are web-accessible, and I've tried a couple different brands of routers that port forwarding would not work. Linksys and D-Link are the only two brands I've had consistant success with, and when our WRT54G (over 5 years old) finally stopped working properly, after messing with other routers, we picked up this one.Port forwarding worked first config, the menus follow the standard D-Link layout, setup in minutes. Haven't had to mess around with it since: it just works. I haven't tested WiFi speed, but range is fine anywhere in our house (which is all you really need). It does make it to the garage too. Very happy. Most (if not all) revisions of this router are supported by DD-WRT (which is part of why I chose this one), but since I didn't have any issues with the stock firmware, I haven't needed to try DD-WRT.

Cheap, worked good whilst it lasted. Search evaluations - it's just a matter of time until it craps out. Following a couple of months, signal drops turn into a lot more and additional frequent. It's to the point exactly where I can't watch a 24 minute show on Hulu without having acquiring up to unplug the router 2-3 occasions. The problem arose pretty all of a sudden, and without having any alterations to the network configuration. Because the drops have gotten significantly worse in the past month, I've attempted searched and tweaked settings per suggestions to no avail. All and all, a poor item. I've had great good results with Rosewill products in the past, and had previously deemed them a good value. Now I'm not so certain.

Simple setup, barely any down time, and good signal penetration. the ac adapter sucks, Qos sucks even more. its a great router but make sure you disable the Qos, it will slow your connection to a crawl occasionally. I have Comcast cable with a 20 mbit connection and with it on i'll possibly get like four, 1, or ten mbits. due to the fact i disabled it my network runs hella fast. I have had this model from 2006 and i don't assume I require routers anytime soon. On a side note I also have a netgear powerline adapter for a particular wireless deadzone in my residence and it functions flawlessly with this router

Hardware is incredibly good. Only limit is the 10럼 wired LAN speeds. Gigabit would be nice in case you're doing a enormous data transfer among computers and don't want to hook up difficult disk manually (like notebook to desktop situations; or notebook to notebook). Firmware is definitely atrocious. Every single firmware upgrade would not fix something. D-Link is a joke. My B&N Nook would drop connection, my iPad would drop connection, my Google Chrome would load pages half way and freeze. Atrocious. Seriously. But then why 5 stars? You can replace the D-Link firmware with open firmware DD-WRT. Go to the internet site. I wrote a very straightforward guide on how to flash this specific router: model DIR-615 Revision C1. Once you flash it, anything functions perfectly as it was intended. Search for the guide written by sugarkang.

Affordable. Got the DIR-615 C1 version from New Egg for all of twenty smackers SHIPPED a couple of months back! I also bought an older A version with removeable antennas utilized from another on the web internet web page for HALF New Egg's cost of the newer C1 router. The C1 version has no removeable antennas like the A version of this router! Like so many other people say.... LOTS of dropped connections with each devices utilizing their stock firmware. With the original 1. stock firmware the older DIR-615 A was especially AWFUL... practically DOA. Flashed dd-wrt to the DIR-615C and got maybe a month of superior service out of it just before it began flaking out and dropping connections. The older DIR-615A does NOT assistance dd-wrt. But, it has the newer 1.1 D-Link firmware on it and I use it at my perform. It has been solid as a ROCK for various months now! Go figure????

Wonderful Hardware and fantastic prospective. On the other hand, you have to flash this with DD-WRT to get the router to do what it promised out of the box. Search for DIR-615 C1 guide Poor firmware from D-Link makes it unstable

Works as advertised. It replaced a WRT54G. Surprisingly the WRT54G had troubles reaching the entire property, I get 100% signal all through my property with the DIR-615 Unable to install DD-WRT on this router due to it getting Rev B2. B1 and B2 are not compatible with DD-WRT.

The Version C1 that I had flashed with the dd-wrt has started working much better. I suspect it was overheating when I had the power output jacked up to 175 mw. The wireless broadcasting has ceased to function with the older DIR615 Version A I had operating at my place of small business. A recent power outage possibly? The WEP encryption was also reset back to factory default... NONE. The four wired connections are still OK. With the dd-wrt flashed newer C1 unit's power scaled back to a a lot more reasonable 91mw, the unit works fine now. Stock output is 71 mw I think. I wish the Version A router would accrpt dd-wrt. Long live dd-wrt!

It plugs in and provides power to the unit. From day 1 when I owned this, the dropout rate is remarkably consistent. Within an hour, it will lose access to the net at least once; usually two to three instances! What's even worse is that you can't rely on RJ45 wired access; it fails even when plugged directly into the unit. I have never ever been so dissatisfied with a item in my complete life. I'm also a pretty lenient kinda guy. Do not acquire this. I'm apparently not the only 1 with these difficulties.

Price, Wireless range, and Support. None. Their interface could be annoying, but with assist of their Tech Support, it was nothing. My wireless range increased and I could connect at 150 or higher with my two distinct wireless adaptors. I had an problem with a VPN connection, but TECH SUPPORT took care of the issue within minutes. just before the router power cycled, the Rep was already giving me a Case Id for the call. Now that is service.

Fairly very good range Non Configurable QoS engine is terrible. I share this device with 2 other roomies. Whenever they stream, my latency in game shoots up from 90 to 400-700. This device prioritizes stream over gaming. Due to the fact the QoS can not be configured, i am left without an alternative except to play my games at an unplayable speed. Do not touch this factor if you are a gamer and has to share your internet with others. I have fairly quick world-wide-web, up to 30 mbps cable connection and whenever one of my residence mates is streaming, gaming time is over.
