D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:- Software can not install drivers unless the adapter is present at the time of installation.

Pros:- Good reception for a USB adapter- Comes with useful USB extension cable
Comment:
I have been using this adapter successfully on Ubuntu 8.04 w/NDisWrapper (802.11b/g only) and on Windows Vista 64bit Enterprise (802.11n).The router I am connecting to is an Asus WL500W running DD-WRT in 802.11 n/b/g mixed mode and WPA2-PSK.Although there are several drywalls between the computer and the router I always get >100Mbps which can be considered very reasonable. The connection is stable and reliable.

D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:The size of the adapter is big by today's standards.

Pros:Easy Setup. Compatible with Windows XP or newer. Very stable. Range is better then any on board WiFi adapters I have used.
Comment:
I have use this for more then two years now and I have never used a better wireless adapter; its still going strong. No fighting with divers when moving it to new machines. Great great adapter. If I had to criticize I would say the adapter is a little on the large side. I use it for a desktop computer so size doesn't matter that much to me. If using a laptop this may cause some encumbrance issues.

D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:Disconnects every 10 seconds, and it seems like it has a mind of its own.

Pros:Not really any, all it really does is give me internet for 3 minutes at a time, and not even at a fast speed.

*should be 1 starThis d-link thing is garbage.

D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:It's always disconnecting.

Pros:When it's connected, it works just fine.
Comment:
This wireless adapter is a piece of garbage. It constantly disconnects, at least a dozen times a day. I RMA'd the first one I got, and the second one does this as well, despite me trying the adapter out on two different computers, on both Vista and 7.Easily the worst computer part I've ever purchased. Avoid it.

Works Great
Comment:
I purchased two wireless adapters with a D-Link Router. They are very easily and simple to install. They work great. I have the router upstairs and one wireless adapter downstairs and have 4 out of 5 bars of signal strength. I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend.

Totally Awesome!
Comment:
I bought this adapter to be able to have killer high speed in the living room for gaming and media center pc for watching streaming videos etc. I never had an issue installing it using Win 7 and D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme Wireless Router Item Number: D700-5426. If you buy one of these adapters, I strongly reccomend buying the DIR-655 router so you can use the wireless N to its fullest!

Good Choice for SOHO use
Comment:
It works quite well, but the D-Link software needs some updating. It has to be manually connected to my wireless router, since the router has a push button. The software is not robust enough to automatically disable the on-board wireless G card when the Wireless N is activated. I like the adapter, but it may be difficult for users unfamiliar with editing network connections

slow startup but now doing fine
Comment:
Installed this on 4 year old custom built computer with windows xp. Used the enclosed cd to install the driver, no problems. However, it then would not recognize the wireless router, even though i used the WPS button on the wireless router, also a d-link. With help from the windows setup, it miraculously cured itself somehow, and is now doing fine. Slow startup gives the 4 performance rating.

D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:constantly disconnectsweak connection

Pros:This product has NO strengths.
Comment:
Do not buy this, it is terrible. A huge waste of money. I use it simply as a paper weight. It is constantly disconnecting. It spends more time reconnecting than it does connected. When it connects (for 1-3 minutes) it has a terrible speed even though I am close to my router! AVOID THIS PRODUCT.

Does NOT get 300mbps as advertised.
Comment:
I purchased this with a Dlink dir-615 802.11n router. When I connected everything the signal level was great, but the max connection speed topped at 150mbps. I contacted DLink support and the technician confirmed for me that this device only supports up to 150mbps. I returned it and swapped for a trendnet adapter (tew-624ub - wouldn't recommend that one either. Won't get a signal 20 ft from the router half the time). Mainly I was disappointed because I was under the impression that this adapter was 300mbps rated but if you just need a 150mbps adapter it works fantastic for that speed.

Beware, Ver A1 works great w 32 bit Vista, Forget 64 bit and D-Link doesn't care, so why would I buy their extreme product that does work with 64 bit, sorry I'll go to Belkin, Linksys or Netgear for all my network gear from now on. If we all did that they would loose alot more money than the simple fix that they could pump out easily

This is a sweet usb network adapter that gets a little bit hot for my liking. Stick it in a cool place like behind a computer fan and it'll be fine. This adapter wipes my old 2wire one to pieces. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-29-09 04:30 PM

D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:Get's a bit warm.

Pros:Great signal within the house. Small and easy to share between different computers. Come's with usb extention "plug" that is weighted for easy install for computers with no front USB connectivity
Comment:
Purchased and set up this unit with 2 different computers in a residence during the holidays. Software worked just fine on a windowx xp based computer and a vista 32 bit based computer. One computer was located in a room adjacent to the router (DIR-655) and the other on the bottom floor across the house. With the router in a central location I was able to get good signal (3 bars at least) in nearly every area of the residence with the adapter connected to a laptop. I was very impressed with this adapters abilities and ease of connectivity. The fact you can use it with more than one computer and it has very good range (with wireless N as never tested with G) make it great. :) This review was modfied by poster @ 01-18-09 08:00 PM

D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:- Buggy drivers / installer- Causes intermittent hanging of XP- Worst reception of any wireless adapter I've used.

Pros:It is usable. Barely.
Comment:
Actual Star Rating: 1*In Vista 32bit, the driver installation from included CD hung and refused to install. Installing driver directly via HW manager seemed to work, but I was unable to connect to a WPA2 WRT54G router. Gave up. Managed to get it working on an XP box with the same router. The reception is truly awful. Eg: I can see three wireless networks using this router, including my own (which is in the next room). My router is listed as "low" signal strength. Using a six year old Linksys WUSB11 adapter on the same computer, I can see 12 networks, five of which are listed as "Excellent" signal strength.Additionally, whenever the DWA-130 is plugged into the machine, it experiences random stuttering lock-ups that last 2-3 seconds.Utter junk.*I purchased this elsewhere, therefore I can't put the order number required to rate lower.

D-Link DWA-130 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter
Cons:-Kind of big

Pros:-Easy to setup-Good reception-Reliable-USB extension
Comment:
The device is kind of big, but USB extension is provided so it'll only take up one USB port. I've had this running for 24/7 and it hasn't dropped on me. Reception is good. Installing it took only a few seconds. I only installed the drivers and used windows utility to configure it to my wireless router.
