AVOID. Terrible connectivity and slow speeds. I tested two other laptops in my room beside the network adapater and they outperform this. Do not buy.

I bought this 5 months ago and have it paired with a DIR-655 router, and have had nothing but perfect service from it. The range on it is great, and the speed is untouchable from any 802.11G card in my opinion. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking to upgrade to the future 802.11N

CRAZY LOOKING! using it on my 4 year pc which doesnt have wifi but only ethernet and needed it in the living where no ethernet cable is present. easily driver installation, doesnt like to drop  wifi signal, this is very good overall

Good product. Signal is strong and it's perfect for someone that don't want to install cable. I use it in my garage and I can connect to my house WiFi without problem.

Got this for a budget build that had to use wireless, gets signal from other side/floor of house. Card's easy enough to use and had 0 zero issues so far, price of $40 doesn't break the bank either, would buy again if needed.

It works well for data transfer but i don't recommend it for competitive gaming because once in a while(pretty rarely) the adapter stops working and only a reboot will fix it. The other issue i have had with this card is that about 2% of the time it doesn't work when i start up my computer and that is also solved with a reboot.Other than that it has great range and great speeds but I would buy & try another card before making the judgment of whether i would buy this card again.(Im running the dLink's latest driver(the one that came out in 2010 btw) on win7x64)

Works like it should. Have one dwa 552 and one dwad 556. Just ordered another. I've never had issues with either one. I have 4/5 bars on the main floor with my wirless router upstairs (dir 655).

I'll make this detailed cause I know it will no doubt be audited by NCIX, as well as potential buyers of this product. The Network adapter connects but then drops connection immediately to any and all access points tested (b,g, and n configurations). Unsure of whether it's the card itself, or poorly designed drivers. (I'm lead to believe it's 64bit driver support, reason: This card tested perfect on my old nforce4 system running Windows XP flawlessly, good reception I might add) Dlink designs Win7 64bit drivers, advertises for 64bit compatibility, as well as NCIX --- THIS IS A MISTAKEEven if you plan on running 32bit Vista/7, play it safe and BUY A DIFFERENT PRODUCT cause they won't exchange this one despite my pleasent demeanor and cooperative provision of extensive test results for a verbally rude and unreasonable tech support response.Thumbs down this time around due to much hassle over a $50 product from a company with $millions of revenue annualy, small peanuts this is.

I have had a few Linksys ones but based on stability this guy here is much better. Doesn't even compare with those USB wifi adapters, This wifi card is just better in all aspects in comparison. I used to be rather wary of D-Link but with this they have renewed some of my faith.

Well I got 2 of those, because need it (HATE WIRELESS), anyway in the past I was extremely satisfied with my D-Link wired routher so I decide to give it a try to this one. Well installation flawlessly, the drivers on the CD are the latest one so no need to download from the site, the software kinda garbage for me I use only the drivers. Well this adapter IT IS VERY SENSITIVE ON ANYKIND OF WIRE SITTIND NEAR BUY THE ANTENNAS, if you have them way to close to connection will drop  and the signal strenght will we close to zero, so make sure NO WIRES AROUND andset the 3 antenna in a V shape pattern, that wa the optimal reception and no drop p-off.Reccomende ??? Only if you know what you are doind , otherwise for someone little more noobish I suggest get another model.CheersMarco

So far the only bad thing about this product is that it's not dual band. However it was easy to install and so far hasn't disconnected me.

I saw that D-Link finally got their act together and released updated drivers in 2010.... I had this adapter on shelfware for the longest time because it wouldn't hold signal under any conditions. So, with the new drivers in hand, I dropped it back in... holy cow... awesome! This adapter is doing what no other adapter would under the conditions my house presents. It communicates with the AP flawlessly and picks up signal strength that no other desktop PCI adapter can. I am glad I kept it. I give it 4 out of 5 because D-Link was so lazy with the drivers. Note - use the D-link configuration utility when setting up communications.

This thing is hella amazing. The card was bought at a relatively cheap price, and installation was quick. I was able to get a 4/5 bar connection with my wireless router one floor below. Good to know this adapter is the more up-to-date ones with wireless N compatibility, and with 3 cool-looking antennas, what else would you ask for?Just a note to everyone else, the wireless utility that came with it was terrible. After installing and trying to log in to my network using the software, every network detected started disappearing. Fortunately, letting Windows 7 manage my connection fixed it nicely. Included drivers are great, but after installation, let WINDOWS or another OS manage your wireless connection, not the D-link utility. After that, all is well. I bought this to go in my new rig, and thought that it would be a good wireless card, but i was mistaken. First of all, when i tried to install the drivers that were supplied with the card, it crashed my computer and had to hard reboot it. I had to go on another computer, download the latest drivers, then install them on my rig and it was ok. Also, i am just the other side of the hallway from where the router is, and i barely get 3 bars on 5, even sometimes only 2, which makes my internet very unstable, and of course gaming is impossible since i get ping in between 100-600 (so very unstable). I bought a bigger antenna for it and now the connection is ok, but no more.

Fairly decent. Average 3/4 bars one floor above my router. Get around 600kbps from my wireless connection.

The majority of my wireless cards are Intel based in laptops. I have a 6300AGN in my primary laptop, which performs exceptionally well. In the past, I've found Atheros WIFI devices to be spotty on reliability. Had I known that this card was Atheros based, I may not have purchased it. After experiencing it, I don't find it up to the standard which I have come to expect from my Intel cards. The problem is that Intel cards are meant only for laptops, forcing me to look elsewhere for a desktop which could not be conveniently connected to my LAN.On occasion, when I turn on my desktop, it will not give me signal. I try disabling/enabling the driver, and unplugging my router/modem to reset and see if it is a broadcast  problem. It never is. I am forced to restart the computer, and then it will work normally. I've just installed another driver, from Atheros, not D-Link, and I have yet to experience a problem, but it has only been 2 days; Not enough time to verify that it is working correctly.My computer is reliable otherwise, running Windows 7 Professional.

literally plug and play. Just open the case insert  and Win7 detected without problems.Have been using it for 2 months now with no complaints.I would recommend this for sure.

So far, it keeps my connection at 3-4 bars all the time with wireless N (instead of 1-2 bars on my old wireless G card) so i'm happy with it. The antenna cant be set up normally becasue of my watercooling radiator mounted on the back of my case...

This is a very good product. Range is very good (second floor computers with router in the basement). Has no trouble keeping up with gaming + ventrilo/skype + downloading torrents simultaneously.The only issue I had was the D-Link software was causing a reset every 60 minutes, cutting off the connection. After troubleshooting, updating, and making sure it was indeed the D-Link software causing the issue (and not some other software trying to looking to update...), I uninstalled the software and used Windows' built-in wireless manager. I now have a rock solid connection, and the inital connection on system start-up is much faster too.Verdict: Get this adapter, but let Windows manage the wifi directly instead of using D-Link's connection manager.
