Strong board.Value!Bios is relatively effortless to navigate. Placement of SATA connectors is not the greatest, my GTX470 covered š and made Š a really tight fit.Only one case fan connector.7.1 audio outputs are not onboard and demand front panel outputs - not a large deal for me as I am using a PCIe sound card. Would have been five eggs if not for the SATA dilemma

I recently had my personal computer crash. Actually spark, smoke and die. I purchased all my new parts from Newegg and as usual am not disappointed. I run Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat and was a tiny worried about hardware driver assistance. Not a single situation. I was able to plug in my really hard drive from my old pc, reconfigure the X windows graphics settings (since I had an Nvidia card before) and I was up and operating with no concerns. I really opted to wait on acquiring a graphics card due to the fact I didn't have the spending budget and the on board graphics work fantastic for the time getting. I purchased this along with a quad core cpu, new case, energy provide and 4gig of ram for beneath 300$ immediately after shipping and handling right here at newegg. This is only a con for me, considering that I am nevertheless working with old parts from earlier computers, is that I didn't notice when I bought this motherboard that it only had one ps2 port for a mouse/keyboard (even though newegg clearly shows that truth in its description and photos). I had to acquire a usb mouse to replace my ps2 a single but that was my own fault for not paying focus.

Strong create excellent, went collectively with out a hitch. Was able to unlock my AMD Athlon II Phenom x2 into a stable AMD Athlox II Phenom X4 with just three clicks in the BIOS. Super simple. None so far, even though, it is genuinely heavy for what it is and it tends to make it tough to safely move around. You'll be tempted to grab one thing you shouldn't.

Common GIGABYTE top quality. Runs rock strong. Includes two locking SATA cables. IDE and floppy header. The colour scheme is very attractive. Solid NB & SB heatsinks. GIGABYTE motherboards seem heavier than other folks... maybe they're solder happy? In any case, I like it! Limited to two RAM slots, though who demands 16GB RAM in their rig anyways? Program fan header on the bottom of the board. Only a single PS2 port. Not a prime-performer as far as speed, but that's to be anticipated. Built many PCs with GIGABYTE boards, not a single a single has failed in years. This 1 is a excellent option for no-frills price range AMD builds for the kind of user who isn't a speed demon that would favor a pc that under no circumstances fails. Quite pleased with buy!

Lots of onboard functionality (has decent video, provided that you're not a major gamer). Operates fine with XP Property SP3. The drivers integrated on the mobo's CD have been functional and reasonably up-to-date (you'll almost certainly will need/want the CD's network driver, video driver, sound driver, Cool'n'Quiet driver). Was also able to boot this board into Knoppix six.two for formatting & disk imaging operations with no problems. I suggest *not* installing *everything* from the integrated mobo CD due to the fact I feel that would bloat your installation unnecessarily. Choose & choose. A second case fan connector would've been valuable for my particular install, but that's not a massive deal. Other factors missing from this board: some legacy connectors (e.g. DB-25 parallel), firewire interface. I know, it's an "economy" board, but I'm pointing it out in case that stuff's important to you. Beware the "Microsoft Update" version of the network driver, at least as of 3񳏋. A single of the last issues I did in the course of the OS set up/update was accept the MS Update driver and *bam*, the networking was gone. I had to uninstall that driver and get back the driver from the mobo CD.I went with this board as a way to upgrade my mom's old 1.four GHz PIII XP setup. Mobo, 4G mem and Athlon II X3 450 bought together had been extremely reasonable.

Looks fantastic and feels solid. Booted proper up with no issues. Utilizes Azalia built in sound card. This did not operate with opensuse linux, which is rare. So I had to obtain a separate sound card. Graphics card slot is subsequent to PCI slot so if the graphics card has a huge fan or heat sink, it will cover one particular of the two PCI slots.

I've however to ever get a DOA motherboard (aside from an ee bay seller) and I've built over 40 -private- systems more than the previous 19 years. Lucky possibly. Gigabyte is a name that I'll stick with anytime when placing together a method. Granted, it's not my only selection, but a alternative none-the-less. For my HTPC requires, this issue combined with the products beneath is playing my streamed media including 3D media (because of the video card) devoid of a hiccup. Now that anything is broken in and functioning, I'll be switching to a SSD to make items a bit smoother. But as far as this mobo is concerned, excellent.. accepted Win 7 install without any incompatibility issues or otherwise. * two SATA cables which is good, on the other hand, a single is straight-straight while the other is straight-angle, I would have favored two of the very same (straight-angle preferrably). Utilized with the following: N82E16811129046, N82E16814121397, N82E16822136075, N82E16820231276, N82E16819103903 -- No motherboard problems or issues.

Construct itself went OK, board performs, (not DOA), if you run Linux see Cons. Knocked off a single egg for my aggravation - but I really should have payed a lot more consideration to onboard peripherals for compatability. If you use Linux you may possibly contemplate a different board. The sound chip on this board was a actual discomfort to get going. The Realtek Linux driver didn't want to work at very first, not 100% what I lastly did to get it going for basic sound. Researching the forums gives a true mixed review on boards with this chip (ALC888). The ALC662 chip functions fine on an additional laptop or computer - identical OS. Other than the sound issues, I like this board, but I like Linux much better - if it was a do over I would get anything diverse. LinuxMint 9 (LTS), VirtualBox operating - WinXP, Win7, SalixOS, CentOS, and so on.AMD Athlon II x3 3.2GHz, eight GB G.Talent (PC3-10666).

This is a great board with lots of capabilities. My favourite is click to energy on. Rather of obtaining ti hit the power button you can set it up to double click the mouse to wake the laptop or computer up or begin it up. Appears incredibly stable I generally obtain products based on the reality that I will not get a rebate so I am not going to deduct an egg for this. And I do have to give them credit that the rebate has been quite uncomplicated to fill out. But what I did not appreciate it that buried in the particulars it says that the rebate is given in an amex card. I know funds is money but this is not the similar as cash. A บ AMEX card is a discomfort to use. I would a lot rather just have a check. The board itself has no cons! The board is worth the funds even with no the rebate.

Price? 2 boards DOA. I HAVE TO Pay RMA Shpping Out of my pocket to return this poor excuse for a motherboard! Board will not power on. The NEW power provide was tested and confirmed to be working. My energy switch was confirmed to be working as well. I tried jumping the power pins manually and still got nothing at all. I recall why I ditched gigabyte a few years back and switched to Asus. Gigabyte QC has really fallen off. Conserve yourself the difficulty and invest a handful of additional bucks in Some thing else! I have By no means had to RMA an Asus, but i have had to RMA Each gigabyte board i have purchased at least as soon as ahead of finding a working solution.

I upgraded my old AGP-program and chose this attractively priced motherboard that had 1 PCI-E 1. slot, 1 PC1-E 2. slot, two PCI slots, 8 USB ports, 4 SATA connectors and additional importantly a single IDE slot (since my old hard drive was IDE). I installed this motherboard without any issues. I have a circa-2002 mid-ATX case and did not have any matters with the screw hole placement of this board. There was no compatibility troubles with my new RAM and Video Card as nicely. All in all, the upgrade was smooth. Minus one particular egg due to the fact the PCI-E two. video card slot is as well close to the 2 PCI slots. If you acquire a top rated-level video card those PCI slots will be rendered useless by the heatsink and fan of your video card. The very same fate applies to the SATA connectors that are behind these PCI slots. They may possibly seem far but the length of nowadays's premium video cards will cover even individuals. So in practice you only have the PCI-e 1. slot or USB available for your sound card upgrade options.Supposed 7.1 audio help is a tease. You will require to come across a computer case that has the vital connectors to take benefit of this feature.

-Does what it's supposed to-Great blue color-Comes with a lot of nice utilities and perks -My video card practically covers the second slot -Gigabyte tech assistance was really quickly and useful in resolving my concern with the board (which I have no thought what it is, but it wasn't the board's fault)This is my second Gigabyte, but prior to this I had attempted two Biostar boards with no luck mainly because defective or DoA. Hopefully this one particular lasts as long as my other one particular has.

Extremely stable board, CPU core unlocking feature, fantastic overclocking functions. As other evaluations have stated, lengthy video cards WILL block some SATA ports. I have a GTX 460 SE and I am barely in a position to use individuals, so any longer card than this one particular will block them off. I consider this is worth the -1 egg. Great board, I'd suggest it to any initial-time builder as it doesn't cost significantly for the features you get even even though it doesn't have SATA 6.0gb/s or USB 3..

outstanding board for house/office use. no problems operating win7 ultimate 32-bit. lots of USB ports. good, clean layout. no genuine cons to speak of. The board does lack some characteristics that higher-end board have, but that's not a con, it' something consumers have a responsibility to analysis prior to they purchase. I've in no way had a issue with anything Gigabyte, constructed 3 computer systems with GB boards and video cards and just about every one particular is rock-strong, in contrast to a fourth technique I built on the added-cheap utilizing one more board brand that had numerous concerns. Also: only two other evaluations? come on, people today! :p

I never did any evaluations on my desktop I built six years ago but I will this time. So far this board seems very good. It has some OC'ing choices (although I don't OC) It hasn't offered me any issues at all and the chipset heatsinks are barely warm in contrast to my old Asus that ran hot (and died shortly following I sold that old desktop). Runs my 65 watt AthlonII 3 ghz dual-core no challenge. Has a floppy and IDE connectors. The floppy is required if you install XP on RAID. Otherwise, it'll come across the SATAs on it's personal. I wasn't gonna devote the money for Windows 7 mainly because XP still does every thing just fine and is Extremely fast on this program. It has two PCI slots but the top a single is spaced so far close to the graphics card slot that if you install a graphics card, you only have 1 PCI slot left. Not that major of a deal for me due to the fact I only have one particular PCI device anyways which is my high end sound card but it might be an concern for an individual else. This is meant to be a fundamental board. It's from a trustworthy brand though and would do great for a gaming Computer on a spending budget or an even cheaper seriously fundamental IM and surfing Computer if you use the onboard video meaning you won't have to buy a graphics card.

Low-cost AM3 board, decent physical layout, As other people have noted the board is not the complete Micro-ATX length and the back edge can end up unsupported. I applied a couple stick on silicone feet on the tray under the back edge. The large issue is the RTL8111񴯘b NIC chip which has some severe troubles and only does limited jumbo packets. A bit of googling will give the particulars. Strategy on getting a PCIe 1x NIC
