Got this unit for a low price tag make for a buddy, and I would say it run on par with the 9600GT to 9800GT without the want for a huge PSU or six pin power cord. This is the card to get because of the use of the GDDR5 ram I have it at a smaller overclock and it doses fantastic! No problem will temp I turned the fan down its a lot large! N/A

This is a single remarkable card. It stays genuinely cool when idling at 28 C . At first fan began seriously loud but as soon as I loaded newest drivers 195.62 it went silent. I attempted to push the card with accessible games and interlaced 1080i video up to 47 C and fan would by no means turn on. Then it progressively cooled down to 33 C. * 40nm technology tends to make straightforward to keep low power and heat dissipation* 4th generation of PureVideoHD * cross OS assistance Windows/Linux/Mac* with GDDR5 memory it's nonetheless quite a game monster 54.four (GiB/s) It is supported in Linux with latest beta drivers 195.30 nevertheless it stuck on Powermizer performance level 1. It ought to be fixed in the future releases.Second. Don't very comprehend 450W or much more energy requirement. I moved from Sapphire 4670 which is great card in Windows but noisy and not properly supported in Linux. Any NVidia cards that supports VDPAU plays 1080p content in Linux with ease. When researching cards I was thinking about 9600񵈸 and ATI 5700. ATI simply because of lack of hardware acceleration in Linux and cost failed very first test. 9600񵈸 are great cards with mature drivers but additional energy connector requirement and older 65nm technology that makes cooling tougher didn't go nicely with me. I watch largely videos and PureVideo 4 with most recent improvements was one more issue. ๟AR with Cost-free Shipping was no brainer.

Great functionality. Doesn't want energy connectors. Perfect for a devoted physx card. Stays cool. Fantastic value. Gigabyte has supplied newer bios alternatives. Comes with a black fan shroud alternatively of the pictured white one particular, which looks greater in my opinion. LOUD. UNBELIEVABLY LOUD. I am an enthusiast with a heck of a lot higher RPM fans in my case, but I can hear this above them all. I flashed this card to the latest bios which drops the minimum fan RPM from 50% to 29% but it didn't adjust the noise at all. I customized the bios and flashed again. Even at only 20% of its max speed, the fan can nevertheless be heard. It is so darn loud. Doesn't come with the most recent bios installed. Which suggests working with a bootable usb drive and NVFlash to flash a new bios to the card. I can not imagine an average user figuring out how to flash a vga bios. Typical Gigabyte, make it easy on your shoppers and just give them the latest bios pre-flashed. Tomorrow I'm almost certainly going to pull this card out, take the fan off of the heatsink and just strap a spare 120mm or 80mm case fan to it. I just can't take the noise any longer. I seriously seriously appreciate the overall performance. I'm employing it for a hybrid physx setup with a xfx HD 4890 and it runs Arkham Asylum physx excellent, but even with the sounds of the game I can nevertheless hear the fan. Again, let me emphasize that I am fully thrilled with the performance of the card. If the fan was quiet I would instantly price this as a five egg card.... The loss of three eggs ought to give you an notion of how loud the fan is. I'll point out again that it is the fan. Even at only 20% it is as loud as my 4890 at one hundred% fan speed.

I installed this card in my Gigabyte GA-MA770T mobo with an AMD Phenom II x3 720 processor and Win7 - replacing the ATI 4670 card I'd initially installed. In my expertise this card gives much greater value for dollars. Frame rates on benchmarks are 30% larger than I got w/ the 4670, and the card is only about ฟ much more. The GPU fan is quiet during normal use. Nice packaging and docs/utilities. At bootup, the GPU fan spools up proper away to max-rpm mode and stays there in the course of POST and till Windows loads. It's not overly noisy, just find it a bit odd that it works that way - the old 4670 didn't do that. As you might collect from the picture, this is possibly a two slot card - the fan and heatsink are tall (wide) enough that the card could intrude on the adjacent slot. I can't tell for confident, my technique doesn't have an adjacent PCI-E slot.

runs. the noise level is very irritating. I installing this card into what i thought would be my silent home office build, i have previously tried the galaxy 240 512mb. The Galaxy card was really very quiet and didn't want pci connectors, and when i bought this, i believed that would be the identical case for the gigabyte, but even with out the further power from the pci connectors the fan rumbles at twice or even three instances the noise level of the galaxy. i would say don't do it =/ IMO its not worth the noise for a low end GPU.

It performs. Doesn't require separate energy connector. At the moment quickest GPU that doesn't will need energy. Fan is on incorrect side? Never really thought about this before, but in my case the fan is aiming down, exactly where the old card had the fan on the best like I would count on. Also runs about 10 degrees hotter than my OC's 4GHz Core two Duo without having any video overclocking. Fan is huge, but I'd rather have very good cooling and I don't want the slot that it blocks.

The card is all round a wonderful deal for one hundred$. It runs smooth in just about all my games, which includes "Garrys' Mod" and "Mirrors' Edge" and incorporates a fantastic overclocking tool with the drivers. The fan is a bit loud at instances when operating, and on startup. But all round the fan is normally quiet. The size is also fairly large. The fan is enormous but worth the price. I would advocate it if you have a spending budget and want a fantastic card for low cost.

None Gigabyte assistance contacted me with the response that there is no recognized problems with the card . I responded there is now i have a challenge the screen goes black when i install the nvidia drivers .they asked me concerns that made me really feel like i was talking to a 5 year old kid about a bicycle not a video card and then blamed the concern on my Dell personal computer not being compatable with aftermarket cards . the finger pointing game I went out and bought an ATI 4650 card it installed fired correct up and operates excellent in my incompatable dell in contrast to the Gigabyte (according to Gigabyte -this was one particular of their emails- Considering that we do not manufacture your Dell technique we do not have any methods of testing of verifying whether if it can help 3rd celebration cards or if there are any methods of turning off onboard video . My prior e-mail i told them i can turn off the onboard video in my program bios and according to Dell it was compatable for an uprgrade -my ATI video card proves it was Gigabyte and Nvidia that is incompatable.I produced the error or RMA'ing the card to new egg and by time i got it back and found out it nonetheless don't work my refund period ran out so i am stuck with a gigabyte paper weight. Don't Rma just take your lumps and get a refund.

I got this card with OCZ PSU. It had a this giant 80mm fan, looked cool. I installed on my Computer, and tested in Youtube for 1080 p, and 720p. As a outcome, in 1080p it seemed not that smooth, but when i use it in 720p, it was extremely smooth. Possibly this is not for High-Finish graphics. But Mid-Finish graphics. I didn't play a game with this graphic card, but I am positive it will function nicely. Fans are tiny bit loud, but it's acceptable for desktop owner. If Memory is 1GB, would be much better. I had a challenging time on connect this to my Television. I needed to update the firmware of the graphic card. Make certain that you are updated in lastest version of it.

Quiet and cool operation, effortless installation, compatible with a number of OS environments, selection of ports, HDCP capable, driver disc not loaded with bloatware, no external energy needed, I'm not a gamer, but it does play half life two with all the functions turned up. No SLI help, I'm not using it for games, so I won't take an egg off. If you want SLI help, acquire a card that has that feature I guess. The card is a bit on the substantial size, but I have a lot of space, again, need to be apparent from the images, but worth mentioning. When you initial boot your technique the fan runs at total-tilt and is a bit loud, but when the drivers initialize it goes nearly silent - You'd need to put your ear ideal subsequent to the fan to even hear it at this point. I would have favored to have three distinct Graphics channels, the DVI and HDMI ports can\'t operate simultaneously, it's either or. If you have additional than two displays ATI has some appealing alternatives. I went with this card simply because Newegg had a rebate supply so the total cost was แ. Which just rocks. Don't waste your time or dollars with non-GDDR5 GT240 cards, the overall performance is TERRIBLE with GDDR3, and expense about the exact same. I don't know if this thing can seriously take advantage of 1GB of ram, but 512MB is functioning fine for me.

Smaller sized than most of the humongous video cards you see for gaming nowadays. Runs really cool and isn't an energy hog. Fantastic for mid tower and microtower builds. Can't locate anything to complain about. The card runs fantastic and is get far a single of the finest I've ever owned and for an really reasonable retail price tag. It's not going to compete with the GT400's but it is much more than what you'd expect from such a little card at a really very good price tag. Enjoy the cover style and is fantastic for windowed instances that want to show off their attractive hardware! This card is impressive.

Decent, solid card with screaming rapid DDR5. It supports video capabilities that some other nVidia cards dont which tends to make it sweet for an HTPC. Also excellent for a lower resolution gaming method. I filed my rebate, TO THE LETTER and I got the rejection notice currently saying I didnt incorporate the cutout barcode proof of acquire. WTH...I took added care and time when performing it due to the fact I know how these rebate companies are and now, the perfect scam. I have all of my paperwork copied and in a folder but when they make you cut a piece out of the box then tell you that you didn't send it, theres no way you can dispute it because THEY HAVE IT and almost certainly tossed it. This is such bull that I now spent ๠ on a card with an annoyingly loud fan that is slower than my three year old 8800GTS 320mb. They got me excellent and theres no way I can dispute it when they tossed out my barcode. Goodbye Gigabyte. I dumped ASUS 8 years ago and now its Gigabytes turn to hit the road. The fan is Also LOUD and NOT ADJUSTABLE so to place it in an HTPC you have to go with an aftermarket cooler. I'm as well incensed about the rebate deal to even feel that this card is a excellent deal for ๠. Also, with no external energy, motherboard compatibility is hit or miss. Forget about adding this to any HP mATX motherboard older than 2 years, theres not adequate bus energy to fire it up.

Looks wonderful fit in my case ideal ,Good packaging I ordered this to replace my onboard video in my Dell Inspiron Q6600 quad core machine. I get the card and it says a minimum of a 450watt energy supply and it isn't even posted as a Specification on right here. So I order a new power provide a 33A 450 watt and I disable my onboard video and uninstall the drivers then I went to the bios and disabled the onboard video . I then proceeded to installed this GT 240 it fires proper up and is recognized so I am considering cool that was easy and to my surprise i install the nvidia drivers black screen absolutely nothing I try to reboot I go to bios check anything . I then proceed to risk-free mode fire up the computer go and uninstall nvidia drivers and it works this way. The card is basic dead weight with no the drivers installed i contacted Gigabyte and they won't respond about the problem. New egg desires a restock fee plus shipping back it is going to expense half of what I paid for this piece of garbage just to return it... If you are upgrading a Dell with Vista 32 forget it...

Great all purpose card. Low power and quiet in 2D mode. Can play 3D games at medium-high settings. For men and women like me who is still making use of 32-bit OS, I want a 512MB card so it does not further cut into the major memory space. Given that 1GB is unnecessary for a card that can only do medium-high settings for games. Takes up two slots, so program accordingly. The fan goes complete blast when booting up, then drops to 3% beneath typical operating circumstances in 2D mode. At three%, noise is not noticeable. MSI Afterburner is a straightforward light utility that functions and can monitor and change fan speed and clocks (better than the integrated Gigabyte HUD).

Got it as a shellshocker for a fantastic cost I suppose, I required a new GPU and my old 7900GS was getting cooling troubles when I pushed it. I wanted some thing a small newer that could deal with some multitasking alright. It can handle what I want just fine most of the time, and I would say the overall performance is comparable, but I haven't tried something also intensive to really push this GPU. Not an overwhelming performance, but it does what I want for the most component. I'm usually playing warcraft 3, surfing the net with a couple tabs, and operating the zune software on a 2nd monitor when i'm pushing this thing hardest, and I have to close the added tabs in Chrome sometimes to maintain the game operating smooth. The downward facing fan is incredibly substantial, and blocks the adjacent PCI slot beneath it. Even a very thin PCI card would have no chance in fitting there, so just preserve that in mind if you need to have all your PCI's. I'm curious as to whether or not it's my aging x2 two.2ghz cpu thats far more of the problem. The gpu does fine for now, and the hdmi port on the card is a lot fantastic reason to toss this in an HTPC when I ultimately place a new construct together. Also, just curious if any individual knew if that HDMI port carried audio as well. As windows was installing drivers automatically it said anything about audio drivers with it as properly, but I wasn't aware if this was a function or not. (I'm on windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, In case that would be useful to any person)
