Superb upgrade from the GIGABYTE 4850 1 GB OC. Gorgeous HD top quality display..Impressive FPS. (Crisis 1920x1080 on Max settings I was acquiring from 25 to 60.) DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort hookups.Superb Cooling system, and potent. This card is second to none for the cost. Plays most modern games very effectively and is exceptional for a all around every day multimedia user.Value. I have a enormous situation so this does not bother me, but this care is Enormous as most are when you get in to the 5800+ cards. The cooling method does not push the air out of the case.As always the cooling fans at max speed are really loud.Pretty a lot every little thing you would anticipate from these typical super cards. I don't use crossfire setups.... however... Operating a 955 X4 at 3.6 GHZGSkill 1333 DDR3 2GB x4 8-8-8-21

Can play anything you throw at it. I can play Bad Firm Crysis on maxed setting on a 1920 screen. Actually like the double fans.currently oc'ed(I'm lazy)In common, this card is a solid purchase. -Very big card(but what do you expect?not a big challenge)-Doesn't have a "box cover" to direct the air flow via the side ventsif the card is in crossfire, then the second card can get all the way up to 60C(but you already knew that)-restricts the air flow, make confident you have good space management.

It's rapidly, quiet, and runs cool. In fact it runs quieter than the older card that it replaced. I have had this card for three months and there have been no problems or glitches. All the games I have run have worked flawlessly with superb FPS. It was much more high priced than I had planned as I tried to remain beneath 赨, but given the benefits it was worth it.(Based on the evaluations that I have read, it's additional energy efficient than many of the lesser high priced video cards like the 5730, which helped me justify a tiny of the cost.)

Every thing I can believe of when it comes to upgrading from a 9800pro! Incredibly pleased except for the issue beneath... Some thing everybody who is thinking about acquiring this card must know is that it causes screen flicker Negative when in a several monitor configuration. At first I in no way skilled the dilemma, but right after a handful of hours of using dual monitors, the flicker began displaying up on the secondary screen when scrolling through internet pages or applications on either screen. It seems to get worse over time since if I unplug the second monitor and plug it back in, the flicker stops for a period of time. It got negative adequate to start affecting each screens at which point I had to stop using dual monitors because of the headaches it was giving me attempting to study on 1 screen and designing on the other. Bottom line: Don't get this if a multi-monitor set up is essential to you!

It's rapidly -- the 5850 is a fantastic chip.three year warranty on Gigabyte cards is good. This card is flawed, plain and basic. Fan generally runs at 50%, making this card also loud in 2D. Card draws as well considerably existing, generating it as well hot in Furmark.Gigabyte has no repair for either problem, as these are engineered that way. I'm not unreasonably bashing; for the money I expected better. The noise in IDLE and the high energy draw relative to other 5850's are both not acceptable and no BIOS updates are offered to fix them.

Effective, Quick, Quiet, Cool... Soon after seeing how Gothic 4 plays in ultra high mode with gorgeous lighting and shadow effects, textures and unique effects all with flawless frame rate... I'm very impressed. Drivers don't always operate effectively. They are up to 10.10 (which are operating well atm) as I write this, but I was only able to use ten.five until ten.9 lastly worked for me. Guess it depends on the game. Comparing the 5850 to the 4870x2 we were going from is like...there is no comparison. It's a massive performance boost. I want to get a different a single.

-Two fans hold card at lower temps.-Top rated mounted power connectors. -No energy management. Card runs at best clock speed generally.-Fans are operating at 55% no way to control them. Adios quiet PCs.-Ran into an situation when attempting to update BIOS, contacted Gigabyte and never got a response. -This is a assessment of this card model from Gigabyte. I have use other HD 5850 models and they are top rated of the line.-Do not update the BIOS in Windows with the Gigabyte flash utility, it could brick your card. Use the ATIFlash DOS utiltity with a bootable CD, flash drive, and so on.-A reference card may well be a better deal.

ATI/AMD 5850. Overclocked at a very reasonable price tag. Fantastic video efficiency. Also loud. Inexpensive fans running at 35 to 50% Idle keeping the card at 50C. My old 8800 GT runs quieter and cooler at idle. If you don't thoughts the sound of a modest fan all the time next to you then the card may be very good for you. I would like it to idle the fans to 10-20% outside of games. Giga could have utilized superior/quieter fans.Newegg RMA'd my very first card very quick. Now the second one particular boots W7 into a solid blue screen right after two days operating. Want to RMA the second 1.

Card runs every thing that I do just fine, on one monitor. I have a 3 monitor setup and the second monitor flickers at the default settings. You require to overclock the card to stay clear of this concern. Apparently this card has an "idle" and an "in-use" mode. When browsing the web the second monitor will flicker when certain flash, java, or webpage script components call for far more then the "idle" stage of the video card. Anything I run looks fantastic as I have it hooked up through HDMI to my 32" Vizio. Runs excellent on my three screen setup when you get more than the "flicker problem."

If you were wondering if you should get the 5850 or 6850, get the 5850. The 6850 is more of the replacement of the 5830. Also, make confident you have the newest bios from gigabyte.

Plays my games at max or close to max settings. Comparatively quiet. Not all games assistance Eyefinity. In reality, most games don't run well with such a huge aspect ratio. With three 1920x1080 monitors, you will have an aspect ratio of five.33. Compare that with a typical 1920x1080 aspect ratio which is 1.77. With Eyefinity activated, you will see graphical clipping and spatial culling take place in a lot of games. The field of view will be even worse than it was on a single widescreen monitor.Initially, I had the flicker problem. Study below to see how to fix it. Multi-Monitor flickering is not Gigabyte certain and is due to the lower GPU/Memory Clock rates when not creating 3d calls. You can use a system called 'ATI Tray Tools' to force continuous clocks at all times which will eliminate the flickering when using numerous monitors.I have three monitors with no flickering issues in Eyefinity and non-Eyefinity modes. On yet another note, if you want to use Eyefinity, you want to generate a display group. In the 'advanced view' catalyst control center, navigate to 'Desktops & Displays.' You will uncover an option to generate a display group by clicking on the down-facing black arrow next to the virtual display and navigating to 'Display Group' -> 'Create Group.' Now, your computer will assume you have a single significant screen display rather of a numerous-monitor setup.

I got this as an open-box deal that shaved virtually ์ off.Good improve in performance coming following HD-4890, DX-11, and a superior cooling solution. Matches color with my GIGABYTE X58A-UD7 motherboard. I started by updating the bios to F5 to fix the 2D mode bug. Could not OC the card past the limits of CCC, but that was good sufficient. Virtually six weeks after I got the card I began to get random lock-ups for the duration of game playing that necessary a reboot, even with no any OC. A handful of days later I started to have random hang-ups throughout technique booting. When the new F7/F11 bios came out, I believed that it will fix the difficulty, but it didn't. Lastly, immediately after the hang-ups became additional frequent, the card just gave out, and I do not get any display on the screen at all. My old 4890 still works in my machine, so I know the dilemma is in the I purchased the card from NEWEGG in the USA and brought it with me to Saudi Arabia exactly where I installed in my method. NEWEGG has a 30-day return policy for open-box items, which has already passed. I can\'t RMA the card to NEWEGG, so I have to try to deal with GIGABYTE, which I may possibly not be so lucky with.

This is my 2nd Radeon HD 5850, so it's in crossfire. At 1920x1080 with almost every little thing maxed out (see cons) items appear fantastic in BC2 (not completely maxed but high), Dragon Age, and Star Trek Onine. For those willing to deal with dual card problems, two of these in concert give far more overall power than most single card solutions for much less price.Would recommend the single card very to any individual wanting to play mid-max at 1920x1080 and cautiously suggest two of these for wanting to max out. AMD drivers for begin and dual card for second. The cause I didn't take an egg off for either is since if you purchase AMD most likely you anticipate driver difficulties and dual card setups are fickle and with AMD cards and their drivers it's worse. If you crossfire be prepared for headaches on setup, but as soon as operating items appear fantastic.AMD requirements to fix problems with operating with specific games, notably Star Trek On the net where crashes take place often when specific settings that don't tax the GPU heavily are turned up; this is not certain to this card but to AMD in common. Currently had a Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 so my upgrade choice was between obtaining a Radeon 6970 or GeForce 570 or finding one more 5850, so I dropped the change on this card. Really do the analysis prior to you go AMD/crossfire.At next GPU upgrade if dual card concerns aren't much more refined I'll probably go for a effective single card setup.ProgramIntel Core i7-930 at 4. I believed the top card would run hot in xfire, but the crosshair IV spaces out the pci-e slots so my cards wouldnt melt.Devote A Small Added FOR THIS More than THE 5830 none

Good efficiency. Doing CAL/Open GL computing tasks it's noticeably faster than my 5830s. With this cooling on it and the common specs on a HD5850 this should run as cool or cooler than my stock cooling HD5830s but it doesn't. Occasionally have to crank the fan up to more than 80% to maintain it from crashing. Will almost certainly return it to Gigabyte (waited too long to RMA it to NewEgg) and give an additional 1 a attempt. I've got to assume this is just a negative 1. I am running a 24" 1920x1080 monitor and have my 46" Tv hooked to the HDMI as nicely. Whichever 1 I select in catalyst as "preferred" functions fantastic but the other will flicker. Fans are screaming loud. The faults are fairly negative but it's quickly for price if you are only using 1 monitor.
