I bought the DVD player on Sep 19 2009 and from the start the remote control only worked when it was less than 1 foot away from the player. They nicely sent me a replacement remote, but upon first use it worked just like the first. I lived with that problem, as my time has been too busy to do otherwise. On Feb 7 2010 I went to insert a DVD into the player, but with the remote the player would shut on for 2 seconds, then shut off. I tried it manually without the remote, same result. I unplugged it from outlet, plugged into other outlets, same result. Unplugged it for hours, tried again, same result. Called Customer Service today and they said to ship it back with a check for $20, since it was over 90 days old, and out of warranty!!! I told the rep that was lousy PR, lousy business practice, he forwarded me to management to see if they could do me a better offer, but I immediately got disconnected

Worked for 3 months, then just kept opening dvd tray. The manufacturer's phone line is busy. For the price it's better to get a name brand. The remote is terrible like the other user posted.

The dvd player provides a good quality picture, but it should not even come with a remote. If you are anywhere except directly in front of the DVD player within ten feet it will not work. If you want to pauese or use it for any other reason you have to get up and stand directly in front of the thing to get it to work.

I bought two of these. One was DOA. This retailer replaced it quickly with no hasle. Both DVD players provide an excellent picture on my HD TVs.
