Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AMD760G mATX AM3+ 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI DDR3 SATA2 DVI HDMI GBLAN Motherboard
Cons:Only one system fan header (easily mitigated with fan splitting cables). The PCI slots are closely spaced and with my GPU (R9 270) there isn't enough room in the final PCI port to put any expansion cards. Slower SATA connection (3gbps). No wireless, but you'll be using a wired ethernet connection anyways.

Pros:Good for the size and features offered. USB3 support is great.
Comment:
For the price, this is a decent motherboard with the right features to appease most users. If you're a power user, well, look elsewhere. But if you want to do light overclocking, you don't plan on two video cards, and you pick up a fan cable splitter like the Evercool, this board will suit you just fine. I would recommend this board to a gamer on a budget.

Cons:no sata III.

Pros:USB 3.0,brownish PCB. Revision 6.0
Comment:
This is a nice matx motherboard. It has USB 3.0, 2 ports on the back and a front panel header for the front of the case. The PCB is Brown not blue like in the picture.I received the updated version Rev: 6.0. This is a good board for the money. I bought this for a budget Lan Rig and I couldn't be happier.

Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AMD760G mATX AM3+ 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI DDR3 SATA2 DVI HDMI GBLAN Motherboard
Cons:All around bad design. No onboard wireless support.

Pros:Cost
Comment:
Power connector for system fan is on wrong side of the board for the vast majority of mATX cases. Most mATX cases don't have a front mounted system fan, and the power cable on most rear mounted fans won't reach the board connector.CPU fan cable has to run directly over a wide heatsink to get to board connector.PCIe slot is so high up on the board, that power supply cables are mashed into a tight space above the video card and behind the power supply; hard to effectively manage cabling.Mounting screw is directly under one of the tabs on a ram slot; huge pain to try and get that screw in and tightened. If you're on a tight budget, and building a basic system that will use onboard video, and you can do without the system fan, this board might be just fine; you'll be able to ignore the terrible design.I will be attempting to return mine.

Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AMD760G mATX AM3+ 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI DDR3 SATA2 DVI HDMI GBLAN Motherboard
Cons:poor onboard graphics, 4.1 phase only, SATA II (3Gb/s)

Pros:up to 32GB (4x8GB sticks), support 125W TDP processors, IDE port for legacy*, black/grey color scheme, USB 3
Comment:
First, this is not a enthusiast board. This is probably the most basic board with legacy features available for the AM3/AM3+ platform. I doubt it's OC potential so I would really limit any hardcore overclocking on this board. With that being said, I have the previous iteration of this board. Not the 4.1 rev but rather the GA-78LMT-S2P version.I am using this "new" board to replace the older S2P.First, let me highlight the differences. This one has 4 memory slots as opposed to only 2 DDR3 slots for the older motherboard. This also has support for 125TDP processors while the previous one was rated for only 95W CPU's. This limited using 8-cores for the previous motherboard since the BIOS has not been update d to work with Vishera. The IDE port may not be an ideal feature for some users but this will allow me to use two old WD5000AAKB that has been gathering dust somewhere. SATA-II is fine since I will be using a slow and old 64GB Kingston V100 SSD as boot drive. This machine is basically going to be an internet browser, some word processing machine and basic multimedia playback so the old FX-4100 from the S2P would be more than sufficient. And while I do not expect this to overclock the FX-4100 any higher, I would at least want to see the same 4.1GHz on air that I was able to achieve on the old board while at the same time stepping the voltage 2 notches down. This has been the setup for since 2011. Graphics duty is minimal utilizing only another Gigabyte HD6450 in place of the DX10 shared graphics. The old S2P sported the blue and white color scheme so the new grey-black color of the motherboard makes it look more modern. The only pluses I expect to see on the board are the inclusion of USB3 and Gigabit LAN. I can now get rid of the pcie-1 card and possibly improve home wired transfer speeds (I can never get the S2P board to show up with 1Gbps connection despite the spec sheet saying its a gigabit nic.I will update  my review if this board performs worse than the older S2P model but for the meantime, I'm giving it 4 stars based on MY requirements==============update: As of Dec 3. When using onboard video, this motherboard has HDMI output so this could be another plus for those that need such connectivity. This motherboard was able to retain my old overclock setting for old FX-4100 y 4.1GHz. The only complaint I have is that on manual voltage settings, I could only tweak voltage up as opposed to being able to bring it down 2 notches (under volt) with the S2P variant. Despite all the pros, this is still an old motherboard design and one of the oldest chipset still available for the AM3/AM3+ platform. Don't expect anything from a legacy product. Just be glad you can still get a sub$50 mobo with these features. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-03-14 09:54 PM

Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AMD760G mATX AM3+ 1PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 1PCI DDR3 SATA2 DVI HDMI GBLAN Motherboard
Cons:for the price nonethe color? (not really a con)

Pros:-cost-usb 3.0-AM3+ -32gb ram max-
Comment:
I bought this board on a budget and the price was right had my 8350 waiting for a board since the one I had wouldn't work which I found out after. usb 3.0 was a bonus for the price. software that came with it as well works great have had some in the past that half the stuff was out dated or didn't work correctly. I would not hesitate to buy another one for another build as it will support my old cpu as well since I upgraded mine to the 8350.

Purchased this motherboard to use in an HTPC computer. Pleasantly surprised by additional onboard VGA, DVI & HDMI port. Tried the machine using onboard DVI and was impressed to see it handled the media without too much lag or delay. The additional 2 x USB 3.0 ports for this price makes it a great value for your money. Would recommend!

Cons:Shy of fan connectors

Pros:mATXFM3+ Board
Comment:
Great board. Just be weary when buying your case fans. It only has two 4-pin connectors for fans. I worked around it by using molex-2/3 pins cables that I was given from from the parts guy at the back of the store. If you are using this in a mATX case do consider spending the extra money to get a modular PSU or forever fight with the cables.

Cons:Only SATA2, only 2 fan headers. DIMM slot closest to CPU unusable using aftermarket heatsink.

Pros:Inexpensive, lots of SATA ports, USB3. 4 DIMM slots.
Comment:
I had an FX-4100 laying around, and ran out of room in my home server due to it only having 4 SATA ports. Installed 8GB (2X4GB) Corsair DDR3 1866 and installed Windows 7 to give it a workout before trusting it as a server. The system is running great, and recognizes 4TB HDDs no problem. 6 SATA ports means it will be a while before I am forced to upgrade again. SATA2 is no issue for me at all as I am using the system for storage. I have to add that the system does boot fast and run all the applications I've tried on it very quickly. The boot drive is a 7200 RPM WD black, and the one storage drive I have in it is a 4TB WD green. My comment regarding not being able to use the DIMM slot closest to the CPU probably wouldn't be an issue most of the time. The heatsink is huge, and the heat spreader on the RAM is fairly tall. I don't know what more I could ask for in a motherboard in this price range. I received rev. 5.0 of this board. It has a black PCB that in my opinion looks better than the blue and white of the previous rev. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-02-14 07:04 PM

I have always preferred a mATX boards because I like to build rigs in smaller cases. I was able to unlock a Phenom II Xc 555 to a quad easily. I'm keeping everything stock speed to keep temps down. Unfortunate that I can't get the most out of my SSD because of no SATA3.Sadly it seems if you want variety in mATX you have to go Intel. AMD seems to be keeping the form factor for FM2 boards only.

got this to replace a motherboard in a gateway zx4351 all in one pcit ended up to large to fit correctly 24 pin power supply wasn't long enough had to get an extension cableI mounded the hard drive in a different location there was also not enough usb 2.0 headers for the wifi camera memory card reader and touchscreenand the 2 side usb connectors I left side usb ports disconnected for now.The head phone and mics ports on the side are not working for now I will investigate with my multi meter see if I can fix them.I had wire up a 3.5mm jack to the speaker amp and plug it in to the mother boards jack the old mother board had a custom audio header for the internal speakersanother problem I had is the motherboard supply's 5v standby power on pin 18 of the hdmi port even when computers powered offthis made for a little weird operation when powered off the power lights on front of the monitor would stayed on and the laptop dvd drive with stay powered upI carefully spliced and disconnected pin 18 now computer powers down like it should. This was an interesting project it would have been easier just to get the proper motherboardbut I couldn't fined one at reasonable price.so far this motherboard is working good only one thing driving me nuts youtube videos have stutter at any setting 360p to 1080p tried chrome fire fox and IEtried newest drivers from AMD still stutters it's a small stutter I can live with and maybe it will get fixed soonit plays 1080p mp4 videos fine in windows media playerThis is a grate board has lots of features for the money it's been running like a champ since I got itwould buy again if I needed it

Used for a simple build along with AMD FX-4130 Quad Core 3.8Ghz, 8GB RAM, and Samsung 840 SSD. Sure this board does not have SATA 3, but it will be saturated from the SSD. Comment:
Decided to finally upgrade my home theater PC's motherboard because it had an old AHCI controller, it was an AM2+ board using DDR2 and obviously had no UEFI or EFI. I bought an SSD and used it with two storage drives and my boot times were actually slower because the AHCI controller took forever to detect the drives. Even though this board doesn't have UEFI, it still boots fairly quickly and MUCH faster than my old board.Features for a budget board like this are pretty good, though it's missing some options, but you can't expect too much considering the price. The onboard graphics is adequate for basic use, but even for a HTPC, I would recommend getting a cheap discrete card. I have a Radeon 5570 that's still doing its job.Gigabyte makes solid boards. I have yet to have an issue with their boards, and I have bought dozens of them for family and friends. ASUS and Gigabyte are the two best in the business in my opinion.Overall, very good board for the price. Good for a budget/basic build, or a budget HTPC if you pair it with a discrete card.
