Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:Stated 4GB VRAM, effective usable 3.89GB minus the 500MB they run at slower speed so pretty much non existing for games on high res,

Pros:Very fast card for the money !! Run extremely cold even full load !!Absolutely quiet !!!! Love it !!
Comment:
Bought this card at the beginning of this year, my first choice was R290X but the so called gurus in the forum here advice to go with this one instead despite I think the already knew about the problem still recommended, won't mention names !! (The top Gurus ). Price wise pretty much the same but with the slight difference when games run on high res and lots stuff going on the FPS from 120-160 drop  down to 1-10 all thanks to the 500MB crap, honestly if I knew about this issue I wouldn't buy this card at all !!! Recommend sure for ppl with 24inch or lower monitors who play on lower res it will be just fine rock solid, for the rest who run on 27" and up save yourself headache get the R290X sure little slower buy it run at full 4GB speed !!Cheers

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:•NOTHING

Pros:•Great overclock•Nice backplate •Runs cool and quiet•No coil whine
Comment:
I've had this card for 5 months, it overclocked great, plays every game on ultra settings with all the extras, runs cool and quiet and my card has zero coil whine. The Blue Windforce LED doesn't fit my Red and Black themed build but with nvidia Geforce experience software you can disable the LED or even add special glow effects like breathing, flashing, brightness etc. This is the best gtx 970 buy it. 3.5gb VRAM is a non issue. This plays everything max and running it in SLI will be a definite upgrade for me after direct X 12 allows you to combine vram.

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:-3.5gb of VRAM not 4gb.-LED lighting not RGB (either blue or off)

Pros:-fast-pretty quiet-runs cool -sexy backplate
Comment:
So far this card has really been awesome. I got it for a first ever build and it has performed like a beast. Partnered with a 4690k I am yet to find a game that I can totally max out at 1080p and not run above 60fps. The card runs cool and is surprisingly quiet. The only things that would really make me love this card more would be an RGB Windforce logo so It would aesthetically fit into my build a little easier, But that issue is simply me being shallow...And to be honest at 1080p the VRAM "scandal" is pretty much a non affair. Sure its a bit of false advertising but 3.5gb is plenty for any modern title and will be for the coming while. Though if your planning on going 4k with some of these bad boys in SLI I would be concerned... Overall I would highly recommend this card to anyone that wants to kick ass at 1080p and kick a little less ass at 1440p, but still enough ass...

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:The GTX970 is not sold as advertised. False/misleading specs.

Pros:Good 3.5gb card.
Comment:
The gtx970 was sold and advertised as having the exact same memory configuration as the gtx980. It does not. It does not perform as advertised. Potential Customers should be made aware. 3.5gb at 192bit bus + 0.5gb at 28bit bus instead of ADVERTISED 4gb at 256bit bus.56 ROP instead of 64, and less L2 cache than advertised.

Pros:FastEfficientperfect card for 1080p gaming
Comment:
I have a 4k monitor and most games have stuttering caused by the vram issue. DO NOT BUY for high res gaming 2 stars because Nvidia has done nothing so far to correct this issue or to compensateThis affects all 970's not just the gigabyte branded ones

Cons:currently every 970 can not use the full 4 gb vram runs smooth up to 3.3 and lots of stutter if more then 3.3 gb is needed

Pros:all the pros listed above by other users
Comment:
bought 970 for oculus cv1 hopefully nvidia fixes the vram issue no problems with the 980 though. Since oculus cv1 is very gpu demanding I am upset about the vram issue.so anyone considering to buy a 970 keep the above issue in mind before you make the purchase or research if the issue has been resolve by the time you make the purchase.

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:Very Long Card. Should be installed in a Full Tower

Pros:Excellent Performance, Can run all games in Ultra Settings, Quiet
Comment:
I install my games on my SSD and with 16 gigs of memory, 3.5 Gig processor and this card my games run as smooth as silk. I have seen some complaints about coil whine but I am not experiencing that issue. Games such as DAI, TESV (with 4k Textures) and Assassin's Creed Unity can be run in Ultra Settings with no issue. This card is a delight to have.Because of the size of this card I would recommend against installing it in a mid sized tower (looks like a tight fit at best). No regrets in buying this card. Worth every penny

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:Cost?

Pros:Very fast card, runs 1080p smooth as butter with settings cranked
Comment:
Just installed this card to replace an aging 8800GTS, the difference is amazing. So far it's chewed through anything I've played with all settings up to max at 1080p.A little more expensive than other 970s, but the card looks and feels like quality when you handle it. After a couple hours of gaming afterburner is telling me the max temp was 56c, and the card remained quiet throughout.I did get some coil whine at high fps (300+) during menus and a few old games I tried, which is somewhat normal and fixed by vsync where required.

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:Priced higher in Canada than US

Pros:Amazing performance, 4GB frame buffer, awesome cooler, backplate
Comment:
I have to say that the pics and videos online really don't do this card justice. This is an amazing looking, and well built piece of gaming gear. I ended up getting a Rev 1.1 card. It has the 84.04.28.00.4D BIOS on it. For once, it looks like I got lucky. One thing that I can easily notice right out of the box is just how smooth it is to game on. There is no hitching, no stutter, and no lag. It is just so damn smooth. The 4GB frame buffer is definitely going to come in handy in the very near future. These days, games are starting to use massively detailed textures. More VRAM is now becoming necessary even at 1080P res. Nvidia did an awesome job here. The drastic reduction in power, and stunning performance have just left AMD in the dust. You really need to use one of these cards just to see how smooth it is to game on. If you can afford one, buy it. You will not be disappointed. It is awesome to be back on the green team. I was getting sick and tired of powerplay on my 280X causing clock switching and hitching in various games. Right out of the box, the GTX 970 G1 is 50-60 percent faster than the R9 280X was. At this point, I don't even see the need to overclock it at all. It just rips through games at 1080P. This is definitely meant to be a 1440P card, and is certainly overkill for 1080P. However, I have yet to play a single game that drops below 60 fps with vsync on. This is how gaming should be. This card is going to give me at least 2 years of gaming enjoyment before I have to upgrade again. I highly recommend it. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-13-14 12:01 PM

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:-Coil whine(my 2nd with coil whine)-The winforce logo light in blue(should be able to change the color)-Price... but not really that much a con since this thing is a beast!!!

Pros:-Very Fast-Good quality build*-Very powerful-Fan are silent-Overclock like crazy-Nice backplate
Comment:
This card is awesome but for the second time i experienced coil whine, while this time it is not too bad. The first time it was really loud and i had to RMA it. I suggest people that buy it to benchmark it using 3dmark when you get it to check if your card make coil noise.

Pros:Excellent overclocker right out the box, stays very cool, temps never go above 65c running at 1505mhz core clock and 7900mhz memory!

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 4GB 7.0GHZ GDDR5 2xHDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
Cons:-Not a GTX 980-No 0db idle like competitors cards, so a bit loud at idle-Windforce logo isn't RGB-Coil whine noise-Included adaptor cables are all the colours of the rainbow-May be too long for some cases-Ejects air into the case so may not be ideal for small cases

Pros:-Blue LED windforce logo-Stays extremely cool (61c is highest i've gotten it)-Great overclocker, was able to hit 1500 MHz EASILY without touching anything but clockspeed-Metal shroude and backplate are stylish and VERY rigid-I/O beats any other non-gigabyte 970 out there-Generally quiet (quieter than my ACX 760, but I've heard quieter cards)-Not too tall
Comment:
This GPU is very nice looking, has the best IO config I've seen on any GTx 970, stays very cool, overclocks like a beast and is generally a GREAT card. Something like the ASUS strix or MSI gaming would have been silenter at idle, but this GPU is not that loud anyways. The metal shroud on this card is insanely tough and looks great. This truly feels like a $400 peice of kit unlike the EVGA ACX coolers I've dealt with in the past. I got a crazy overclock of 1550 MHz on this, making it perform near equal to a stock GTX 980! I can't recommend it enough.
