inexpensive, 1 tb Sadly I can\'t give a a lot more detailed assessment simply because this drive showed up DOA. The drive was never found by my motherboard. It would just beep and click a few instances continuously. The beeping was a bit confusing as it created myself and a buddy assume it was an situation with the mother board. On the other hand, as soon as this drive was removed from power, no more clicking or beeping. Luckily, it was the only component of my build that has had any situation and it was a secondary drive.

Been trustworthy. 5 of these in R5 no failure so far right after 6 months. These drives are outright confusing. On the old model 7K1000 HDS721010KLA330 the liner efficiency was around 90MiB/s, could handle ~ 3KIO/S random individually and 400MiB/s @ 13KIO/S random with 5 in R5. This new model is around 133MiB/s linear @ .5KIO/s random individually and 300 MiB/s linear and 64IO/s random with 5 in R5 that is ONLY 64 accesses per second! The technique consistently pauses, hick-ups, and locks as it waits for these **** drives to catch up with the requests. Hitachi states there is no firmware to fix this unusable bug nor with they exchange them with the old model which works very nice. The lack if support and Hitachi being unwilling to make usable drives anymore is what cracks 4 Egg’s. Hitachi refused to state why these drives will not scale like the old drive. I’m seeking for a pair of 3tB drives for my XW6600 and was noticing many evaluations complaining about dropped drive syndrome symptoms. Apparently Newegg requirements to fire someone for shipping harm drives. Keep in mind any new drive should be run beneath the manufactures low level complete wipe diagnostic pass at least five times ahead of being utilised. Any dropped drive will fail this test.

Wonderful overall performance, plenty of space, low cost None Installed three of these in a new Dell T35002 disks in RAID0 = 250M/sec Read/Write thats as rapid as an SSD and you get 2 TB disk space! I'd advocate a third disk to hold standard data backups due to the nature of a RAID0 Array.

Worked fine for a new construct right out of the box. 1TB for ็ is not a negative deal. No troubles I fairly significantly use this drive each and every time I am creating a personal computer for someone. Ideal bang for the buck in my opinion.

Cheap price. Where do I begin! I purchased 12 of these for a couple of RAID systems. two arrived DOA. 4 far more failed within the 1st month and a half. Totally not going to get a different Hitachi. These suck!

Low-cost solid 1TB drives.On the quiet side. non at this time This is 3rd time in row I received a item from the egg in less then 24hrs to ten miles north of NYC. This is the very first Double Foam Double Boxed drive or the greatest packaged product I have received in years.

High capacity, excellent speed. it's a tough drive and not a five.25" floppy. I couldn't be happier about obtaining this drive till I purchased a second a single. That's corny, but it is a good deal.

Works good for 2 months now. Speed tests are fine. A lot quieter than my other tough drives on my HTPC. So not sure what other individuals are referring to. But I choose a small feed back to let me know my personal computer is up to a thing with out seeking below the desk at the activity light. There is a tiny bit of sound. Packaging was fine. Went with Newegg over Amzn for that cause. Had to order a Sata cable separately but I read the reviews ahead of time so it wasn't an problem. No directions or box included but newbies can go to Hitachi Net web site if required. Make positive you create at least two partitions if you're installing Windows or yet another operating technique on a drive this massive. Put the OS on the initial partition, which must be 60Gb or less (mine is 20Gb but see below.) Put your documents and files on the final partition. Windows will run quicker at the front of the difficult drive. To adjust My Documents place, appropriate click it and adjust it under properties.Dell Vostro 200, Windows 7 on 20Gb partition, no Program Restore, Hybernate turned off, page file on second challenging drive.

- Functions perfectly- Runs a lot faster than my old IDE HDs- Haven't had it long, so no difficulties but - I don't notice noise, but I'm used to a noisy machine anyhow.

Quite quickly, quiet when not under heavy load Can become noisy and "clicky" when accessing a lot of data, some potential compatibility concerns. I have mine installed in a Synology DS109j. After about three minutes, an alarm began going off in my NAS saying the HD was failing. I removed the drive and tested with Hitachi DFT and every little thing passed. After researching a bit more, I found some pages explaining some features (AAM, SSC, and APM) that required to be set for some Hitatchi drives when applied in Synology devices. Because I set these accordingly, everything's been operating fine. I nonetheless plan on pulling the drive out in a month or two and running yet another test on it to confirm it's holding up...

Hitachi makes good drives, thats all I can say, if not why would there be SO a lot of out there in brand name computers like dell,hp,emachines and gateway?? Folks knock this brand of drive mainly because its "offbrand" but ya know what I've owned 3 of these and my clients use them with no concerns none. they all function wonderful! wish newegg used USPS for shipping

order 3 of these. all came fast and free of charge thanks newegg !all three was working no DOA ( was worry by reading others assessment specially that a person indicated they have to spend to return DOA. I known as newegg prior ordering and they told me if i get DOA they WILL offer totally free label to return I just have to call client service and ask for one. set it up as RAID 5 like ABC... can be any happier ! a small noisy but doesn't bother me at all it's not generally though.

Incredibly low price for the quantity of space. Arrived speedily. Purchased three of these and 1 of the them was DOA. Made a clicking and beeping sound. I must have listened to those who bought them and also had DOA's. 33% defective rate doesn't cut it for me. Thankfully Newegg has a wonderful replacement policy.

Excellent price for a 1Tb harddrive Extremely loud; makes a grinding knocking noise when accessing the drive. Will either RMA if there is free shipping or acquire an additional one (possible else exactly where). Very loud and annoying to work with but enjoying the added space till I am either forced to another 1Tb drive or my old 80Gb one.
