Rock Solid Drives
Cons: Price.
Pros: Rock solid, highly reliable drives, even under harsh conditions. They are decently quiet, too. Performance is good, too. |

I hate reviewing a product I don't own
Cons: Price: Costs exactly twice as much as a 1TB drive with a fairly good rating. Boot speed: I wouldn't use this as my primary drive, takes longer than other drives to boot.
Pros: I've owned the 500GB version of this drive for nearly 5 years now. Never a question of failure, I trust it for all my mission critical information. Reading specs on this drive it shows significantly faster than its competitors as well (up to 10MB/sec). The one I own is truly an enterprise level drive. Comment:
I'm holding out for the OCZ Vertex II to come out and I'll use that as my primary with this for information. Sorry for reviewing the product without having bought it...but as I have the little brother and this had no reviews I thought it may be helpful. Especially after reading it's competitor's reviews. |

For my job, I work with 100s of these drives... many of the drives have been around since late 2007... and they are still kicking strong with tons of run time and rebooting (spinning down, and back up hundreds of times a day) while having large amounts of IO in RAID configurations. A certain number have even been drop tested from as high as 4ft, placed in high heat conditions, or in intense vibration conditions (we call it the shake-n-bake machine). Overall, lets just say, these drives are not the common point of failure in our product. I plan to get some of these for my personal file server at home... they're amazing.
