My Imation SSD fit into the icy dock perfectly. Vents look sufficient. The external SATA connector seemed to have a loose match with my cable. It came off a couple of instances when I was setting it up. I ultimately got it on, but any tension would result in it to come off. Match perfectly into the HP Proliant ML110 G6 server drive bay.

none Worked for a couple months or so then failed. This is worse than DOA in my opinion, as now I cannot return it and I also had to troubleshoot (though it was my SSD at first, fortunately not).I wouldn't even know exactly where to start out to attempt and return it to the manufacturer for replacement. I'll probably just buy one more (different brand of course). Poor good quality. Buy a unique one particular if you can.

Does what its advertised to do. none Quite simple. Put a two.five" drive in it, close the top, mount it like a three.5" drive. I got this to mount a SSD in a three.5 in bay. It is a bit overkill for what I am employing it for, a piece of bent up sheetmetal like comes with the Intel SSDs would would just fine. Nonetheless this would be excellent for mounting a two.5" drive in a hot swap bay or something comparable.

Fantastic match & simple to install. Definitely zero work to set up my OCZ SSD in the converter. Bought it mostly to enable preserve dust off of my SSD. Operates great! Only con & the only explanation why I did not give five eggs is the reality that exterior of the Icy Dock is all plastic. Would have been worth 5 and a half eggs if it would have been aluminum or at least component of it. My case has a big side window & thus you can truly see the SSD in the case. This Icy Dock looks one hundred instances greater than the affordable bracket converters & incredibly straightforward to install.

Great little unit. Worked as intended suitable out of the box. Once you get the unit open, my Intel SSD dropped correct in. Ease the gate closed and the drive slid into the internal connetions devoid of concern. Closed with no troubles and all holes lined up excellent with the case mounts. Fantastic item!! Wish it was a little less costly but I'm content with the purchase.

Affordable, basic to use... Poor manufacturing tolerances, no beneficial form factor information on mfg's web site. size is slightly bigger than a 3.5" drive, does not seat properly in a MacPro case. Almost certainly fine for one thing with far more spacious drive bays.

Quite effortless to set up drive and standard placement of external connections. N/A This enclosure/adapter is really nice for the cost and does precisely what I need to have it to do. Not confident if the heat dissipation is an situation for HDDs, but there is no difficulty with the SSD I have installed. Great for my SATA two drives...functions just fine As somebody pointed out before...these docks can not recognize SATA3. Upgraded to Critical C300 SSD's....nada...can't see them. The internal interface doesn't know how to deal with SATA III. Decided to get straightforward low-tech rail adapters...they do function with SATA3. eight^) Get these if you plan to remain with SATA2 drives...if you plan on upgrading down the line...assume twice.

Basic, beautiful, works. My SSD couldn't be happier. I nearly want to say the cost is stupid, but on second thought it isn't as well poor.

Does what it says - now you can put 2.5" drives in your desktop without having any tools. Works great for a SSD, but then once again so do other (cheaper) items Cost for what it does taking into consideration other merchandise readily available. It also fully encases the drive inside with plastic and not as considerably ventilation as achievable - not great for a moderate-wattage drive. I would also call the build high quality moderate. Not flimsy but not that wonderful, either. Oh and it's not a problem for me but the factor that connects the drive's SATA pins to outdoors this converter is only for SATAI/II - it doesn't have the SATAIII pin arrangement. All round an okay product, but I would check about to examine. I got this simply because it came absolutely free with an SSD but I have a distinct solution in the mail for my next make.

Fantastic design, feels sturdy and has air vents if your using a magnetic drive. None Worth the dollars for the wonderful fab/design if you only need to have a handful of for a home Pc or some thing equivalent. For a server or a big quantity of drives their are less expensive alternatives.

I have been seeking for an adapter for a 2.five SSD on my Mac Pro late 2009 model. Most adapters do not work with the Mac Pro docking mechanism, but this one particular does. Great design. None
