Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: none

Pros: Fast, easy to OC, fast
Comment:
Handles everything I've thrown at it very easily. OCed to 4Ghz no problem, this thing is super easy to OC, you can keep your voltages nice and low. With HT it emulates 4 extra cores for a total of 8.

Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: none

Pros: fast, pretty stable, runs cool without overclocking
Comment:
I bought it to replace my six-year-old pentium 4 system. It's a lot faster and efficient so far. I haven't tried to overclock it. Maybe I'll try it someday. Also, it's pretty good for gaming.

Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: price! more expensive than an i7 920 and same price as an i7 930It's kind of frustrating that Intel did this since everything else in terms of RAM/mobo is at least $50-100 more expensive.

Pros: the best price/performance for a 1156 board. For the same price you get the performance of a i7 930 and still save on electricity use in comparison!
Comment:
If you're looking to save maybe $200 go with this processor. If you have an extra $200 definitely go with the 1366 boards since you'll have more future options for upgrade and maintanance. the 1156 platform is getting killed off by Intel for a 1155. Other than that, it does its job.

Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: NONE so far

Pros: Low Cost in comparison to what it can oc to. smooth, capable and reliable
Comment:
Got the I7 860 with Asus Maximus III Formula for my new gaming rig. I have recently Overclocked to 4 GHZ stable. Temps are a little hot under full load though, however its an increase of 1.2GHZ. It seems 3.8 GHZ is the best place for it in terms of temperature. I am using a Water cooling system (Thermaltake Kandalf LCS). At 4 GHZ it idles around 40C and at full load tops off at 85C. Very Good Processor, very pleased with its capabilities. Definitely Recommend

Intel Core i7-860 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons: - runs a little hot (stock cooler)

Pros: - VERY fast !- does NOT slow down !
Comment:
With the stock cooler, it ran at about 84 degrees celius under full load, which was to hot for my liking. Picked up a coolermaster 212 hyper plus heatsink, and it now runs at about 65 celcius under full load at 3.5Ghz.This cpu runs VERY fast, (like im talking Usain Bolt fast !)Even at 100% full load (foldingkhome), i can still barely notice any performance drop, just amazing !

Performance and Value sweet spot
Comment:
At the time of this review, the 860 is the best-priced Lynnfield chip for the level of performance you get. A step up from the i5 750 (which doesn't have hyper-threading, if that's important to you) and significantly less expensive than the i7 870. Gave a 3 of 5 for features because I don't like the stock cooler.

If Your Going Soc 1156 and I7 Best Bang for Buck
Comment:
I must say first of all the March 11 reviewer, anon, presents several possabilities. First, maybe he just posted on the wrong product after meaning to get around to it for 3-4 years. Second, perhaps he thought the thermal paste was like toothpaste. Third maybe he did graduate from Clueless College. Combined with the ASUS P7P55 Deluxe MB and Windows 7 64 bit this thing is like greased lightening and very overclockable (with care). Almost half the price of the 870, a great choice!

Paired an i7 860 with Asus P7P55D-E Deluxe , G.Skill F3-12800 (8Gb), and Window 7. Using Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B cooler in an Antec 900. Havent found any programs that slow it down yet. It was a bit pricey but Price Matched down to a reasonable price for me.Love it. Runs cool and fast.

Great for now
Comment:
Twice as fast as my previous Duo. Heatsink and fan are barely adequate - get an aftermarket cooling solution. Will be obsolete in months, but that's the nature of CPUs.

came from a core2duo to this, this thing is absolutely AMAZING. There is no way you can compare this beast to a p4. stock heatsink and fan are junk though, if you plan on overclocking at all get an aftermarket one.

Disappointed with the performance!
Comment:
I upgraded from a Pentium 4 3.0GHz to this processor and have not noticed any difference in performance. My computer still seems to run exactly the same as before. From benchmark scores I've seen in various websites, this Core i7 processor is supposed to be about 11x better than my old Pentium 4 processor. So far, I'm just not seeing that difference. I'm not saying the processor is bad, just that if you already have a Pentium 4 running at 2.4GHz or so, the upgrade is not worth it. You won't notice any difference. Only upgrade to this processor if your processor is below 2.0GHz.

Comment:
Too fast!!! It doesn't use too much resources for example, playing Modern Warfare 2, won't pass from 20% of use and keeps high fps. I absolutely recommend this CPU.
