Extremely quick, decent price tag, low power consumption. Stock fan is not that excellent Upgraded to this negative boy from my Core 2 Quad setup and this issue really does put that old setup to shame speed smart! Can manage multitasking quite properly and aids with all round overall performance of my computer system really considerably.

Really fast, thinking of I'm upgrading from a Pentium 4 northwood ʃGHz. Runs solid, specifically with Turbo Increase and I haven't had any difficulties with crashing. Usage typically stays beneath 25%, even when multitasking. Stock fan/heatsink doesn't keep it very cool, but that's not a big dilemma since I'm upgrading the cooling anyway. Glad I purchased it

This was a gift and this issue is stupid rapidly compared to my old LGA775 Q6600 setup but dont get me wrong that was a excellent setup also. Runs cool at 69F idle and loads up to 105F but I am not overclocking it either dont see the want if it needs far more it offers itself far more easy operating an aftermarket cooler from Rocketfish. I could go on about this CPU but it would probably take afew far more pages. It wont go to function for me so I can stay household....but seriously if I ever find a con I will re-post. What can I say? It is quick. I haven't had also substantially time to play with it, but it appears to be substantially more rapidly than my laptop with a Core2 duo. None that I can consider of. My old machine was due for replacement, and the value genuinely wasn't negative.

Incredibly strong CPU, will chew something up and spit it out.Overclocks properly, but see cons... Like everybody else said, runs quite hot so get a good cooler. I think mine could need to have lapped since it runs unusually hot. With the stock cooler, at stock clocks it would hit 90c no challenge with turbo on operating prime95 smallFFT. Properly I place a thermaltake 92mm tower cooler on, which kept my I3 530 on my other rig quite cool below 70c at 4.4ghz, on the I7 overclocked to 4ghz at 1.33v it would IDLE at 60c and thermal throttle beneath load. So I stuck on a massive 120mm tower cooling, a zerotherm zen. This helped a lot, would no longer thermal throttle but would nonetheless hit ㆖c under full load at 4ghz. I want to lap it but I don't want to drop the warranty.Because it runs so hot, I have to run three.8ghz at 1.28v and it never goes more than 80c with the Zen 120mm cooler. I just want intel would make their surfaces on their chips flatter.

I upgraded from Intel's Q6600, which was a Core2Quad ʂ.4GHz. In Flight Simulator X, I went from possessing my frame rates in the 20s to prices in the 40s and even 50s. This CPU fundamentally doubled my functionality!Though my older CPU was also a quad core, this one supports Hyper Threading, which seemed to also support in my efficiency boost. The Turbo Enhance frequency from 2.93GHz to three.6GHz is remarkable, and tends to make a noticeable distinction also. None that I can consider of. Even though reading earlier testimonials for this solution prior to getting, I noticed that there had been various criticisms against the stock cooler solution for this CPU. I ended up buying some aftermarket thermal compound/grease which I applied when I installed this new CPU, and I'm seeing CPU temps in between 35C and 40C on idle. My old CPU idled around 45C, so I'm not complaining. My setup: MSI H55M-ED55 mainboard, Intel Core i7-870 @ two.93GHz, Kingston ValueRAM 4GB ƒ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM, GeForce 9800GTX+ GPU

Very happy with this buy. It is very quick and runs cooler with the addition of a SCYTHE SCSMZ-2000 RT CPU cooler. The original fan is considerably louder, as well. I don't like the push pin approach for attaching the CPU Cooler. Extremely hard to access with an additional wide CPU cooler. The MBO heat sinks also get in the way of getting able to push down straight and turn them.- I propose install CPU & Cooler with MBO out of the case to give you additional area to function and be in a position to confirm the pins are completely set. The only way to confirm is to inspect them from the bottom of the MBO.

Rapidly, runs cool on idle. The integrated stock CPU fan is garbage. If ever the technique maxes out the processor can get up to 94c. I didn't know this prior to I ordered. I have given that study several critiques on this proc and all have stated their discomfort with such a terrible stock heatsink and fan. Absolutely buy an right after market cooler.

1. definately 4 cores!two. uncomplicated to overclock to three.7mhz+ and additional!three. relatively steady in high temps4. 8mb of L2 cachefive. constructed-in Turbo-Enhance technology6. intel good quality7. cheap cost for such a higher-finish cpu 1. wish I had two of 'em ! Super fast cpu! Loads Windows 7 in under 10 seconds! Chocked with transistors, and only a small bit slower than the 980X. Going from a core2duo to an i7-870 is like a poodle vs a pit bull! Nevertheless, there are some mean poodles out there. But anyway, obtain the chip and go quicker! Ultimately, do yourself a favor and invest in an aftermarket heatlink/cooler.

I just built my first pc working with this processor. I have to say, I'm certainly ecstatic with my decision. I got this a handful of weeks after it dropped in cost to 趸. It runs really cool, and multitasks extremely. Under no circumstances when have I had any sort of lag on this machine. four cores, and eight threads makes a multitasking behemoth. Adore this processor. None! Accidnetly scraped it against my motherboards socket a tiny bit, but luckily none of the pins got bent. I had to wait a handful of days for my graphics card to come ahead of I could check if it was okay, which was incredibly stressful. Very satisfied with the excellent of this item.Case: Antec 902CPU: Intel Core i7 870RAM: OCZ Reaper 2x4GB DDR3MoBo: ASUS P7P55-LXHDD: Hitachi Deskstar 1TB 7200 RPMPSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W ModularGPU: Sapphirre Radeon 5770 Juniper XT (sad to hear AMD's changing ATI's name to AMD)ODD: Sony Optiarc w/ LightScribe

If you will need high functionality with out intense rates, and want to keep away from the highest wattage devices, this is the best selection. Heatsink surface is convex. If you care for maximum doable reliability and you have the capacity, it really should be lapped.

8 months ago I built a AMD x6 Thuban 3.2ghz Pc with Hydro Cool H70 but I consistently had problems with this Computer, I believe the motherboard is going out and I am waiting for a replacement from ASUS after they get back to me.This processor is good simple to set up into the motherboard, I have heard people utilizing diverse than stock HSF but honestly you won't will need that unless you strategy to overclock your laptop. The stock HSF keeps about 40c idle, I might have observed 50c-55c beneath intense load but it doesn't stay up that extended it seems to manage data differently than the AMD brand processor, only point that would make my construct total would be a SSD. Only a minor one particular and that's the heat issue but that is dependent on the person themselves who is running this system. OC'ers would advantage from a bigger heat sink/fan or hydro cooling. None
