No problems at all with this MB/CPU combo. Have it up and operating as a low energy storage server at property. Every little thing work excellent from the start out. Installed Debian 5 (AMD64 version) with no dilemma, responds rapidly even with a number procs running simultaneously. Even comes with stickers for the inside of the case that describe the features of the MB so you can ditch the manual. None genuinely, haven't had any difficulty at all with the board/cpu. Kernel compilation with four threads took a small time ྾+ min) but I obviously didn't obtain the board for its raw CPU overall performance.

Excellent Documentation from Intel is integrated. SATA Cables included. Silent, low power. Runs cool in a small case. The POST beeper is so quiet you pretty much can't hear it. Outstanding worth, utilizing as a web site test machine so needed to dual boot Windows 7 (Home Edition 64 bit) and Linux Ubuntu 10.10. Drivers on Intel CD worked with Win7. Both Win7 and Ubuntu installed and worked with no complications. Board is thin and flexible so install memory before placing in situation. Utilised two sticks 1GB of Important single sided ddr800 memory. (CT2KIT12864AA800).

Silent, gets the job (of PDC/file server) done Picky about memory Like the item (used it to construct property network primary domain controller/file server - performs beautifully). Silent and runs relatively cool. The only gotcha was to use DDR2 memory with 1.8V voltage (tried 1GB DDR2 800 chip with 2.-2.2V voltage -- didn't operate). Taking 1 egg off for this as it took me some time to figure it out (had to do some googling)

Little form element, quiet, lower power consumption, plenty of processing power. Contains printer and two serial ports, vary uncommon these days, along with 7 usb. A lot of "wake on" attributes, adore the suspend to ram, with wake on lan, up and running instantaneously. Unbeatable price. Although not an issue in my circumstance, the vga only connector seems a bit dated. And having complete use of the 4 gigs of ram would be good, as it stands I'm acquiring about three.35 total, since of the way it allocates memory for the technique. I bought this to run as a residence file/web server, am operating Debian with no GUI, no monitor/keyboard/mouse. Have Apache, operating RoR to power Redmine and PHP thru fastCGI, Git, Samba, SSH, Exim, plus a handful of monitoring programs for program stats, and I rarely exceed a gig of ram used, haven't observed the processors go past 50%.

Fantastic tiny board. It's been running 24ǝ for about a month now. Silent. None. I've been running a webcam surveillance plan on this 24ǝ with no difficulties. It can deal with at least four cams. I added a tiny 30mm fan to preserve points cool. Use a pico PSU to hold points compact.

Runs FreeNAS and Untangle without issues. Low-power and passively cooled signifies a box with little noise. Realtek network interface pulls some power from the CPU given that it's s/w based. The passive CPU cooling indicates that if there isn't a case fan when placed in a warm atmosphere it could overheat. It only has one PCI expansion slot. It only has 2 SATA ports. Runs everything I've tried on it. Provided the value/performance ratio it's hard to beat this one.

Silent. Certainly silent. Performance is surprisingly very good for what it is. Don't anticipate to run complete-screen HD video, even though. This board is finicky about the ram it utilizes. Be completely conscious that old ram you have lying about may possibly not work. I thought my board was DOA but tried some lower voltage memory and it works perfectly. Taking an Egg off due to the lack of a PCIe slot. Every other mini-itx board out there has PCIe, Intel... Replaced my home server with this in a ridiculously tiny case with a WD Green harddrive. Can not even tell it's on. Handles all tasks like a champ. Operating Debian 5 x64.

About a dozen builds later and the initial mini-itx. Utilized 4GB PQI memory, Apex case with power supply, 250GB WD Caviar Blue, SATA DVD. Complete expense was 趤 which includes shipping. This made an outstanding workstation built for a non-profit that makes use of MS Office and internet reporting. It is practically inaudible (PS fan only), runs at 50 deg C, shows four cores ƒ physical x 2 threads). Completely loaded with AV and updated with XP SP3 and all updates, Word opens in much less than 2 seconds.Complete screen 1680 x 1020 Hulu is choppy, but that is fine for a workstation in a small business environment. Passes Windows 7 hardware specifications test and will run the aero UI when we upgrade later this year. Now to develop 7 a lot more and dump the 5 year old Dell Optimas they had. I'll be working with this exact same configuration once again and again. Graphics are the weakest part of the package, but a non concern in this application. Save power, save AC, fewer elements that can die, company workstations everywhere, unite!

This is a good little board with lots of RAM capacity to run a low-load server. I've got a couple servers based on it in production, both operating Ubuntu 10.04. The passive heatsink is fairly tall and also tends to make routing the 24pin power harness tricky. It's even inconvenient in a full-size situation. I've utilised other Intel Atom boards that have better layouts, so I'm taking off an egg. Since of the tall heatsink I was nervous about making use of it in a 1U chassis, but it just barely scrapes below (might touch the best based on flex in the situation). Seems to be fine, although.

Good small Atom Board. Looked up the specs on Intel's web site and knew what I was going to obtain. The unit will primarily be utilized as a testing station for reside distro's, OS'es, NAS software program. Added four GB of DDR2 800 Ram from Vital. Low energy consumption is a large plus. Only 1 PCI slot and no HDMI or DVI. I have no intentions of producing this a HTPC but the solution would have been great for unique monitor forms. Going to take one more couple of weeks to use this board on a slew of distro's. If all operates properly, will purchase much more as I need fit.

Inexpensive, Quiet, Cool, Low powered.. even comes with a major sticker (about the size of mobo) that has all the info for mobo on it. ... none been operating a trixbox below a very good load. (around 30 phones, IVR, mailboxes with googlevoice/skype and SIP DID/DOD) . and this this has no complications... make confident you invest in a good powersupply (ashame to have a silent mobo and then have a screaming powersupply) and a Solid State HDD (i utilised a CF in raid 1)

This mobo+cpu is effective adequate to be employed in developing and integrating systems, robotic systems, devices with sensors, etc.Equipped with RS-232C serial and parallel port, hence allowing attachment to legacy and current sensors.Energy NFS servers, powered with cramfs linux that is bootable from its USB. Amazingly controllable by means of its BIOS, this board is genuinely superior to any mobo I ever saw or tinker with.Intel gave this board for end users and for integrator, and I think this is a single of the best ever delivered by Intel - for its value -The graphic is 100% compatible with Fedora 12, great 1920 resolution, plus in text mode this is the best resolution on flat screen. 32 bits, but I can see the 64 bits coming soon.

Low Energy Dual Core answer. 3 year warranty. Fanless. Excellent for 24ǝ 'green' server. Got this more affordable somewhere else, but did purchase the case/power provide and tough drive at newegg. Limited graphics capability (no DVI), only two SATA connectors. Not a con for my setup but ... Matched this with a TT 220 watt power supply (comes with Element Q case), 2 x 1GB sticks of PC6400 RAM, and a WD10EARS 1GB 'green' difficult drive. Also installed an Antec 120mm tri-cool case fan (on low, connected to energy provide) to preserve factors cool. Running Vista 64 with all unnecessary services disabled. No mouse/keyboard. Energy possibilities are set so the Computer under no circumstances sleeps but powers down as quite a few elements as feasible. Kill A Watt reports ㅖ watts at idle. When the difficult drive is getting accessed it's proper about 32.five watts. WOW! Had the memory, case fan, and a copy of Vista lying about, so I was able to put together a top quality system for 赨 (D510MO, ElementQ, and WD10EARS). NOTE: my CPU temps appear to be reported correctly as opposed to other reviews. As far as 64 bit drivers, the CD had everything I necessary. Extremely happy with the overall method. Runs ideal.

I bought this motherboard because of its very good evaluations with FreeNAS. All I had to do was plug in my FreeNAS USB flash drive, and it all just worked! No hassle or particular OS configuration required. Runs substantially cooler than I expected for a dual-core hyperthreaded CPU. No FDD header. No Computer speaker output. No Serial/Parallel plugs on the back. It has headers instead, and most most mini ITX instances don't have places to mount header adapter cables. Not required for FreeNAS but I perform with lots of "legacy" stuff and if I repurpose this board later on I might need them. On the brighter side it has *two* serial ports rather of just one particular, and they appear to be normal so they really should work with any OS. It would be great if there were an mATX Atom board with more PCI expansion slots.

Not developed to be a gamers board but handles the fundamentals just fine. Lower power consumption; quiet; Inexpensive! Running WIN 7 64 bit with no hiccups so far. Built a system as a replacement program for his 8-yr old Compaq. Only two SATA headers. No DVI or HDMI but knew that going in. May well be a limiting factor if you are hunting to develop a HTPC on the cheap. I purchased this with a Rosewell RC-CIX-01 BK case and it is if they were created for every other. My original intent was to use this rig as a replacement for my WHS box but will have to acquire a larger HD to compensate for the EIDE HDs that are in my existing method. Can't beat the overall performance for the value. Have already bought yet another MB and case to build the WHS box. Will let you know how that turns out.

Broken CPU heatsink retention pin on arrival. Initially the processor idled at 35 degrees C. The motherboard arrived from newegg with a broken CPU heatsink retention pin. Intels consumer help would not mail me a Ũ.005 pin. They wanted the entire motherboard shipped to their RMA facility. Waste of time I say. I lapped the heatsink, applied Arctic Silver 5, and created my personal retention mechanism and now the CPU idles at ㅍ degrees. Space temperature. It's little, it's quiet (passive cooling), it is quickly (for an Atom), gigabit networking, ideal for a file sharing residence server. At very first I was going to invest in the other Mini-ITX Atom board by Intel, but for บ much more, you get dual core (vs single core) and (among other issues) 1gbps (vs 100mbps). - Only two SATA ports (wished there was much more), but this could be fixed by adding a pci card.- Did not operate out of the box with the spare ram I had. *See other thoughts Like other people have posted, you want ram with a distinct voltage/speed to be recognized by the BIOS. Particularly, you need to have to have 667몸MHz with 1.8v. I had a spare stick of ram that was 533MHz at 1.6v and it didn't even post. Just take note of that before buying.

Appreciate these low power silent critters. Modest foot print, no , tiny foot print. They can be stuck inside just about any case lying about to get somebody back up and operating cheaply. - RAM - no video if it doesn't like the RAM. OCZ Platinum PC26400 four-4-4-12 was just as well rapid for it. Dug out some old 667 - 5300 and it works perfectly. Upgraded the BIOS (twice, as soon as to an intermediary version to get to the most up-to-date series) and that didn't repair the RAM problems.- No PCIe- Did I mention RAM? Incredibly frustrating :-( I've built 3 of these Atom boards and have no complaints as to speed or function. Of course, grandma emailing, 24ǝ media server, and 6 yr. old youngsters pc so they have to fit the non power user category.

Quiet and low power. I am happy the performance for non graphic intensive applications. Intel has a nice bios/driver update utility to preserve you current. DVI and eSata would have been good but I knew what I was buying. I installed mine on a micro-itx m350 case working with a pico 80w power supply and an Intel 80gb ssd. I am employing mine for property automation, touchscreen applications.
