I Nevertheless cannot get a working spare! I just received my 3rd consecutive DOA! There is not a lot to do when testing this board. I tried a diverse power supply and a diverse memory DIMM, but still no video. My PCI bios tester displays a code of 2A What is going on right here? I bought two of these boards late last year; each are nonetheless operating just fine. Now I'm trying to construct a "Hot Spare" and soon after 3 attempts, I nevertheless can\'t get a operating motherboard.

When working, was a excellent, rather, and cool processor. Loaded Linux, Win 7, and Win XP without having a difficulty. Matched with an OCZ 30 GB SSD, it was a nice package. Failed in less than 60 days. Purchased on two-18-2010 from Newegg. Was operating fine. Turned on currently, 4-12-2010, no video, no boot. Has a post code of 21, Initializing a chipset component. Much less than 15 operating hours. Newegg web site says to make contact with manufacture. Intel internet site says to get in touch with placed bought. three year warranty worthless. This was my initially Intel board and will most likely be my final.

Dual-booting Linux Mint 9 and XP Pro. Slapped it in a Morex 5677 case (small no-nonsense industrial enclosure) and now I have a excellent smaller desktop. Emulators, classic games (Starcraft, Total Annihilation, Half Life, Sven Co-op, FF7 through ePSXe... etc) and audio software program run great with no complications. Plays 720p video with no a hitch. Had no driver problems except the newest audio driver for XP from intel had difficulties. Got the driver from Realtek directly and everything was peachy. Linux Mint was flawless appropriate from the time of install. If you realize clearly what you want, did the analysis First and purchased this board you ought to have no trouble. This board is incredibly stable and multitasks SUPRISINGLY properly I will be employing this technique soon as an "Entertainment server" for movies and games in a solar-equipped (small) camper if things go as planned. I have employed it fairly a bit since I built it and have started to realize that with the exception of heavy FL Studio projects and maybe Supreme Commander, this is all the laptop or computer I truly will need. I couldn't seriously explain it but I truly like this factor.

Affordable, plenty of power for house server / NAS box.Low energy consumption, around 35W total including two 3.5" drives spinning.Consists of two serial and 1 parallel port headers on the motherboard. Not a core i5. I built a complete method with this board for under 趚.

Every single thng you require, add memory and hard drive to make a complete method. No fan and low power consumption make this perfect for an generally-on machine. PCI-Express mini slot is helpful for adding a wireless card or HD decoder. USB headers only assistance three addtional ports. Only two SATA ports. If you're utilizing a DVD drive and a challenging drive there is nowhere to plug in a cable for an e-SATA port. I believed this board would be slow like the Celeron 220 it was replacing. Instead, I have a technique that is excellent for internet usage and light office work.

Effective little board with small foot print for space and power. Running perfectly as my XBMC front end. Initially had some concerns with the Sparkle PCI 8400GS 256mb card I purchased. I though the card was DOA as it didn't perform in the PCI slot but an older 6200 worked just fine. Turned out the BIOS that shipped with the D510 was in require of updating, in a recent update it fixed an concern with PCI Graphic cards that have an internal PCI to PCI bridge, which the 8400GS ones do. Following the BIOS update, bam, operating perfectly since.

It worked correct away. No POST problem whatsoever. Ahead of OS installation, I updated the BIOS and set to AHCI. Installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bits. Downloaded and installed chipset, graphic, LAN and sound drivers. Installed Office 2010, iTunes, and so on. etc. Every little thing works. No difficulty at all. No since I knew what I was getting when I bought it. Yes you won't see the gorgeous Aero interface but you'd stupid to anticipate it from this program. I feel Windows 7 and four giga RAM are overkill for this. XP 32bit with 1 or 2G RAM would be a lot more appropriate. I have no difficulty operating MS workplace, iTunes, Chrome, etc. etc.

Low energy consumption, extremely small footprint, sufficient firepower to deal with a lot more than a few things, low price. None for me. Runs my mail server and download client under windows (not prepared to do this below linux just but), and an Asterisk PBX below VMWare server with 2GB of RAM. Replaced older hardware to bring energy consumption down. Yes, you can possibly get far more firepower with close to the same money, but if you are searching for a 24ǝ machine for property server reasons, this will do the job and keep the electric bill down. Only poor factor is that I could not uncover mini-itx circumstances that would hold a couple of 3.5' challenging drives for low-cost (I really try to stretch my dollar when it comes to computers), but I can not say that I looked too hard. First Atom and initial new proc for a couple of years soon after I shelled out for a Q9450 a few years back, so can not offer substantially comparison with current gen of processors. Oh yeah, I hate the present prices of DDR2, given I did not stock up a few years back (stupid me).

Great little ITX motherboard for office applications with decent graphics, and no fans to make any noise. I put it into an Antec ISK 300-65 ITX case and removed the fan that was included with the case. I then installed a Western Digital Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT 320GB 7200 RPM 2.five STATA three.0Gb/s internal hard drive, 2GB of Kingston DDR2 KVr8002n6 memory and Windows XP Pro. Boy am I impressed. It is significantly faster than I expected and practically completely silent. It also runs cool in the Antec case. Have been running it nonstop at full speed for five days without having even one hiccup. None I 1st tried it with Windows 7 and it worked just fine but I prefer XP Pro because it is compatible with my existing hardware.

If you want to load Win2k3 Server on it, you want R2 or it will keep blue screening. Worked fine with ubuntu as properly.Making use of this to drive a scsi card for tape backups. Works fine for this purpose. Certainly you wouldn't attempt to game on it, unless your stupid.Make sure you upgrade the BIOS, this is a Ought to for this board. It takes several upgrades to get it to the right version. It does support flashing more than a thumb drive.

-Lower consumption-Excellent Top qualityBought it at a local retailer for less. I utilized this board as a freenas box for about 10 months. Then i decided to use it as a media center pc. To be able to play HD videos you will need to add Broadcom Cystal Hd. Don't acquire any pci video card if you want to watch hd video. The Broadcom Crystal HD is best for it. I can now watch 1080p HD movies on my Sony Bravia 40" -Only two SATA port-Picky on ram My mini HTPC- Windows 7 32 bit- Intel BOXD510MO- Broadcom Crystal HD BCM970012- Kingston Value Ram DDR2 800 1gb

This board is perfect for my use. I am using this with Ubuntu 10.04. The only thing that gave me some problems in the beginning was the network interface. If anyone has these problems during the install then remove the energy (unplug) and plug back in. Didn't come with the newest firmware which I suspect is the culprit for my problems. I couldn't get the memory timings to adjust appropriately until I updated the BIOS. I would sort in any manual value and the machine wouldn't reboot. I struggled with this for a small though ahead of I attempted the BIOS update. The system ran Definitely slowly without this update. The memory timings by default with out the update were 8-8-8-28. I literally got twice the speed when I updated the BIOS. It identified the ram correctly after the update. I built a system around this board. The case is a M350 enclosure with picoPSU-80 and 60W adapter. Ram rendition 2 GB ddr2 240-pin 800mhz. Disk is a 64GB SATA II 3.0Gb/s 2.5" G2 Series Solid State Drive.I am operating Ubuntu 10.10 on it with out trouble. This shows as four cpus under Ubuntu as previous posters have stated. Installing was a breeze. Followed an additional posters advice to install ram prior to mounting the board to minimize flexing as this is a fairly thin board. It takes about four seconds to post and another 8-10 to totally boot to the login prompt. I'm quite satisfied with the performance. Had to fiddle with the usb settings to make this boot from my jump drive for installation. It refused to boot from the drive even though it was on the list of boot devices until I told the bios to treat usb disks as fixed drives. When this was accomplished installing was a breeze. I would gladly create one more system like this. I haven't tested the vesa mounting but it looks like this case must mount very easily to the back of my monitor. I'm also running boinc which thanks to this detecting as 4 cpus 2 real and 2 from hyperthreading it gets a lot of work accomplished.

I purchased this to use as a two harddrive file server. Regrettably, now I need additional than two drives can hold! Only 2 Sata. No PCI-e x16. It will now grow to be my HDTV computer system when I add an old 20GB laptop drive from a 360, a new dvd burner, and an HDMI capable PCI graphics card. You might think 20GB is too little, and possibly it is, but it will be connected to my rapidly SAMBA server with all my files.

Fantastic small board if it stays working The only board that will kill itself just sitting there. Initial build was ideal and still is with everyday use. Second board setup perfectly, but killed itself after a week. Had to RMA. Third board setup perfectly but killed itself soon after 4 months. I will not bother with Intel warranty but will take into account it a lesson learned. Could have powered aPhenom 910e quad core running 24ǝ, for 854 days, for what this has price me. Certain, the upfront cost would be greater but in the lengthy run I would be funds ahead and have a important performance benefit. Now I will have todo a AM2+ build so my DDR2 memory doesn't go to waste.I like to build and play, and... have NON-Problems. By some of the other reviews this board has issues. I've checked the power supply and have been careful about removingkeyboard, mouse, and so on. until power has been off for at least a minute. In both circumstances the boards refused to post right after just sitting there for a couple of days with out any switching or connecting of any peripherals.

Comment:
This is a great board for low power and limited processing demands. Since it does not have or need a processor chip fan, it should be quieter and more reliable as there is no fan to wear out or fail. I like it!This should be far better than the Jetway Boards which has failed under warranty, but still ended up costing over $40 to send back to the US for service. Jetway also will not dealy directly with RMA and took nearly 2 months turnaround time.
