It's fast, got a 7.two (out of 7.9) on the Windows Practical experience Index.Globe of Warcraft loads a ton faster now, more than a conventional difficult drive Not a lot of room. Soon after placing Windows 7 and WoW on it, I have very small space left.Cost per gigabyte is nonetheless high, compared to regular tough drives. General, I'm pleased, but wonder if I really should have gotten a small larger a single, just to not have to be concerned about running out of room. I have all other software installed on other drives.

Uncomplicated detection and setup. I didn't use the transfer wizard but did a clean install rather. Oh, and did I mention it's rapid? Coming from a WD Raptor, I was impressed with how substantially quicker this is. None

- Quick drive- Low heat- Increased battery-life for laptop - Price- Space - Not a big speed difference with Intel's 40GB V-series SSD- For noticeable speed increase, try Raid0 on two Intel SSD 40B rather of buying this 1 based on more quickly read/write speed.

Really Rapid. Intel RMA effortless. Failed with no warning. BIOS stopped detecting drive and became inaccessible. Need to have purchased a larger drive. 80 GB as well modest for boot and apps.

speeds anything up about 30% (my estimate). Runs cool, no noise.....has the Intel name. This is my second one somewhat costly, but worth it Installing OS was very rapid compared to a conventional drive. It went really smoothly. This is the future. I also added a 2T Samsung drive for data, ect.

I have a 90GB Vertex2 and this 80GB X25 M and I enjoy them each. Nonetheless From practical use there is tiny difference but the Intel does seem a little more quickly. Making use of benchmarks With identical setups the intel has more rapidly read occasions but slower create instances - but benchmarks don't use computers. Actually, if I necessary another SSD, I would go for the X25M. I guess I could say that the slower create speeds are a con, but as a boot drive, reads outnumber writes 40-1 according to scientific studies I have observed. That becoming the case, I would a lot choose more quickly read speeds - So, I guess this con is actually a pro>

Wow this SSD drive is just wonderful. My wife purchased a single a month ago and we instantaneously noticed the difference in speed for all of our applications. We now boot up in under 15seconds (Compared to at least 40-60 ahead of on a hitachi 7200rpm 180gb) on Windows 7 Residence Premium. Globe of warcraft loads up so substantially quicker now and games like Mafia2 Just trigger and so forth are a breeze on the loading screen. Wish it was a 100gb @ this price ;) If you want reliability and affordability on a wonderful SSD this is the way to go. This is like a dream of a SSD. Will be purchasing quite a few additional in the near future.

SPEEDTool Box Low Write Speeds But, you can only inform when you run benchmarks. In actual use you would by no means notice. Just an additional cause I believe benchmarks are fairly useless, they hardly ever have a bearing on actual usage. I own yet another SSD which I shouldn't name. But the intel seems a tad more quickly than the V2, while I would be pleased with either.

Not one dilemma with installation in the course of Win 7 Pro 32bit, nor any in 2 months.I repair computers for a living and not too long ago installed the very same OS on a WD Raptor. No comparison. The SSD was a absolutely various expertise in getting hugely quicker.I have also place a single of these into a Pentium Dual-Core at 1.8 ghz on a mobo with no AHCI and the pc outperforms any computer I have seen, except my own. I keep the drive only half complete for life expectancy purposes so I do sometimes examine how a lot is on it and occasionally move some files to my secondary platter drive. There is totally no upgrade for the price tag that can compare. If you have decent dual core cpu adding this drive will improve your speed far far more than a new best of the line cpu, mobo and memory.

Speedy.Easy drive replacement with downloadable Intel version of AcronisWEI disk score from 7.1 with the old 40GB SSD to 7.7 with the new 80GB SSD None Download the Intel version of Acronis. Read the instructions just before working with. At initial, I was a little apprehensive messing with my old boot drive, but in a matter of four or five clicks and 30 minutes I had cloned my old boot drive and replaced the old with the new. Painless and easy. Also, if you don't run this drive in AHCI mode (switch from Legacy IDE to AHCI in the bios on the disk controller to which this is connected or by hooking this to a RAID enabled controller), you may as effectively get a fantastic mechanical tricky drive, due to the fact you won't get the performance advantages of the SSD in IDE mode and your WEI disk score will be a 5.9 which is equivalent to a WD Black Edition disk score. So make the switch to AHCI. If you currently have Windows installed when you make the switch and you're operating Windows 7, you OS will fail to boot. There's doc on the microsoft internet web-site concerning producing the switch. It's a matter of changing 1 registry item, them rebooting and switching the mode in the BIOS.

As soon as POST finishes - 14-15 seconds to login screen. Really straightforward install - did not have to set to IDE mode. Win 7 flies on Acer 3810 now. Beautiful and precision-looking build excellent. Packaged in a protective box rather than shrink-wrapped! OK - it is a little on the pricey side. I also personal a 32-gb SSD from that three-letter business. It does not match the caddy properly and I had to set the BIOS to IDE mode to install it. And (different pc) it takes 25-30 seconds to boot immediately after POST. So far - for me - Intel drives are the only way to go!

Insanely quickly compared to a typical 7200 rpm drive. Of all the drives we benchmarked, this one particular is the ideal performing for its price range. As soon as I got it, I saw speeds that I didn't think were possible. Having been on 7200 rpm drives for so extended, you start out to assume that Windows start off up and opening large applications was going to take a lengthy time on any system. Not a method with this baby in it. Windows 7 loads at neck break speed and applications are up and ready to use just before you can even react soon after launching them. Nevertheless costly, even with SATA3 out now (and drives that are double the overall performance of this one particular). Not incredibly big. 80GB is doable for the OS and some applications, but you truly have to have a companion drive. (I recommend, if you can afford it, two of these poor boys in a raid) We retrofitted our Dell Precision T1500's with these. (Specs: core i5, 6GB ram) Makes for very happy user.

Retail kit comes with every little thing you need to have for install. I upgraded my Lenovo X61 laptop and the factor flat-out flies now under Windows 7 64-bit. I couldn't be additional pleased, and the complete install took only a few minutes. Good efficiency for the value, and by now a extremely well-verified component. Write performance is not up to the most up-to-date typical. But still way far better than the original drive in my Lenovo X61. I went for the premium Cruical C300 in my desktop laptop and that has been a miserable knowledge. Suitable now the price tag/performance ratio appears significantly much better for this drive.

This SSD is crazy awesome! My laptop is twice as rapid, it is almost like getting a new laptop or computer. The speed at which each and every activity (installing, opening programs) is accomplished is just outstanding. none so far I feel it is ironic, if you know anything about the history of the Pc, the SSD is a throw back to the initially days of personal computing.

Quick, low power consumption, Intel stability. By far the greatest laptop upgrade in a decade. none therefore far... Bought this to replace HDD inside new ASUS Eee Pc 1015PEM-PU17. Even though it was a discomfort to install due to the fact of ASUS's product design, once up and running the netbook is rapid! Booting takes about 20 seconds to desktop, even with all my programs installed. Conducted SSD optimization, such as the guide from "The SSD Review." Following benchmarks from AS SSD:Seq Read: 233.32 MB/sSeq Write: 77.55 MB/s4K Read: 14.12 MB/s4K Write: 17.83 MB/sLatency Read: .163 msLatency Write: .234 msI too am not a major fan of benchmark tests, but do normally run them each so often for the heck of it. In reality, speed will not be an concern and no want to worry about "slow" write speeds, you won't notice... Once more, this test was with several programs installed (about 20 GB employed) on an ASUS Eee Computer 1015PEM-PU17 with 2 GB DDR3 RAM (like that even matters). Anyhow, I have 3 other SSDs, all from Intel, and I haven't had a difficulty however...am pleased with this drive and my purchase...thank

No complications. I have had various of these for a although running RAID in CAD workstations with no issues and blazing speed. Smaller capacity. Would advocate going with one bigger drive versus two smaller drives operating a RAID . While, I found these run slightly quicker as 2 drives RAID then 1 256 GB C300 series drive in non-RAID configuration, but additional difficult to setup appropriately.

Quite rapid & extremely trustworthy. Virtually twice the value of a similar-capacity SSD from another firm. TL;DRI got six of these. They all perform. Have had problems with other brands dying or being DOA.I originally bought three of these for three gaming PCs. They worked wonderful but I soon filled them up and required far more space.Simply because of their high price tag point, I thought I would attempt a more affordable brand. For the 1st Pc I purchased a GSkill Falcon 128GB, which worked fine for about 6 months and then died. For the other two PCs, I lately purchased two OCZ Vertex 2 160GB drives that had been Each DOA. They are still in the RMA period so I'm waiting to see if the replacements Newegg sends will be in working condition.I required drives by Thanksgiving so I had no choice but to fork over the cash and get 3 a lot more of these Intels. The exact model I got previously was out of stock, but this model number was offered and I couldn't see any difference in the specs so I went with it.They all operate. Possibly the high price is worth it for that reason

Incredibly simple installation. Did it clean though and moved old primary spin drive to secondary designation. Worked very well out of the box, extremely quickly, as expected, above all else it works with zero troubles. Value is also outstanding and the mounting bracket is included and works. Wish it were 800gb as I'd enjoy to walk away from old spin drives. 800g for the identical cost would be great. Back to reality.... there actually aren't any substantial issues. I did notice that the screws that came with mine were a little larger and diverse than what fit in my CPUs holes so i just applied the ones i had and no difficulty mounting it. Also i had a lot of added energy and interface cables so I didn't have to use the included ones with the drive. When you acquire intel, you are clearly purchasing a name with a somewhat extended history of finding stuff right. This SSD is no exception. If you have the funds i'd advise purchasing either numerous SSDs or go with a larger one. As of now with tech becoming as far as it is, it's still suggested to limit what you put on these. If you have a large digital library, i'd stick with either the external drive or the old spinner drives. These are certainly the future of HD technology. Till rates come down on the massive boys, the "average" user will locate this certain brand and size really practical and more than adequate as it pertains to cabability. Purchase it.
