I believe that as long as the largest memory is placed in the first slot then the smaller memory can be used in the second slot. I tried to add 1x1GB to existing 1x512MB memory and computer would not boot. It worked fine when I removed the existing 512MB memory and only used the new 1GB by itself. This doubled my existing memory and works fine. I am happy except for the 512MB RAM I can't use now

After buying an ULTRA, I had to return it because of compatibility problems with my HP. NOT so with Kingston! Works great and they were great with the returns!

When I went to install Quickbooks 2010, was told I didn't have enough memory. My son opened up the computer, said I needed another memory stick, ordered it, and I even installed it myself!! Fast Service!!

Purchased 2x1GB modules for a client. Modules arrived sooner than expected. Client is VERY impressed with the new speed of his system. I would recommend this product for systems requiring this specific type of memory.

My older PC had 256MB of memory and had become painfully slow. An upgrade to 2GB improved its performance dramatically. Very pleased with result!!!

I was seeking the correct modules for my older desktop computer. After testing them thanks to a colleague who had one, I purchsed two 1 GB modules. Now my computer is performing very well and is handling modem speed well.

Memory worked the first time everytime. My PC is much faster and more stable.

The memory upgrade worked well for a week;PC is run for at least 8 hours a day, everyday, then the blue screens and program halts began on a consistant, frequent basis. Removed the new memory and downgraded to the original and ran all day with no problems. If I reinstall the new memory again and the blue screens return, I'm going to return the memory.
