I doubt anyone would actually use these maxed out, I haven't tried since I value my hearing. Worth the amount they cost for sure just for the quality.

Cons:Paint comes off sub easily, as I had a tight place to put it and the paint came off on the corner.

Pros:Loud, Sound Clarity
Comment:
These speakers are crazy powerful compared to the ~20 year old Optimus Speakers with SuperWoofer I was using before. You really do not need this amount of power for every day use. These speakers could easily entertain a party. I hardly have to come off min. volume to shake my computer desk. JUST AWESOME!

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:a couple weak componentsonly 3.5mm audio input

Pros:Quality and power per dollar
Comment:
They sound amazing for the price. My neighbors love listening to them. If you get high bitrate mp3s, a good soundcard, no audio enhancements and then use asio or kernel streaming the volume can go WAY up with little distortion or ear fatigue. My control unit failed and i lost the left channel, but was able to use auxiliary input instead of buying a new control unit from klipsch. I haven't been the kindest to them, a couple drops over the years... corroded dim plug that may have been the source of the eventual failed channel. They updated a couple things since my first set, but not much. Don't fix something that aint broke. The first ones are 9 years old. Just bought a second unit to make a 4.2 system. These are the best unless you are going mid range home audio.

Cons:too much powerfull bass XD

Pros:Clear soundPOWERFULL sub
Comment:
I really like it, the sound is awesome and i can't describe  how much this is compare to others like logitechs one... Also, the sub is so much powerfull, when i litsen to music with it at 100% and the main volume to 20% it make my computer crash! i had 1 bsod and two blackscreen. video hardware error. only while litsening to music... Ain't it EPIC? It shows how much this system is powerfull and crazy. I recommand this 100% but you should put the sub far away from your pc. just an advice...

Cons:Could use some 90 degree cords.

Pros:Built to last.Great sound quality. No lack of power.
Comment:
I've had these for about 10 years. After about 6-7 years, the headphone jacked got jammed in a little too far and stopped working. I pulled it apart and tried to fix it to no avail. Last year, the subwoofer stopped working due to the cord socket on it getting pushed in a little too far too. These have really lasted though, and until the speakers stop working I probably won't bother replacing them.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:the power switch behing the subwoofer

Pros:everything, good bass, excellent sound, enough power to hurt your ears
Comment:
As i mentioned the only bad thing is the power switch behind the subwoofer, but i owned this speakers set since 7 years now, and i control power with a power bar. For the price, you'll never find a better system. The quality of sound is terrific. Klipsch buids speakers since 1946, so, you can't compare their speakers with Pc's related companies like logitech, etc. And Klipsch is a high performance speakers builder, not like Sony, etc. Finally, i had to solder the multipins speakers connector inside the subwoofer after 6 years and half, because the sound in a satellite speaker disappear. Solder it takes me 10 minutes, the longest part is disassembling the subwoofer and access the rear of the connector.

Cons:-On/Off switch on the back of subwoofer-Speaker cable bad connections

Pros:Great Sound
Comment:
It sounds great, but everytime I need to turn it on/off, I have to bend over, reach under my desk and look for that master switch on the back of the subwoofer... what a pain! Sometimes I get no sound coming out from one of the speakers so I need to wiggle the speaker cable to get the connection back on.

Comment:
I had these for about 2 years now and they are finally back. These are the very few THX certified (even if it means anything) speakers that are really great for $200.There are better 2 pcs out there like the AudioEngine or the mAudio, but they are for another type of audience. For gamers/movie waters with small room, these are just great. There are tons of review on these here so I don't need to explain more.

You would have a hard time finding a better 2.1 PC sound system around and under $200.I using my iBasso D4 DAC as a sound card.I thought they sounded great with my Creative Sound Blaster sound card. But now they sound amazing.Anyone complaining about muddy boomy bass, probably has the sub woofer turned up too much. When properly adjusted the satellites and sub combine to reproduce fantastic detailed, dynamic sound. The satellites are what really shines. They produce great highs and mids.I would only recommend the Audio Engine A5s or the A2s with a sub instead of these.

Comment:
Just bought these at my local NCIX. Brought them home, set up for around 30 minutes, then voila: the most amazing speakers I've owned. I've owned Altec Lansings, Logitechs, and Bose, but these are mind blowing. For 200 bucks, these speakers are equivalent to my home theater setup in the other room. These bad boys are worth every penny. The 4.5 stars these have are definitely deserving, Recommend 100%.

Comment:
So far these have been the best computer speakers I've had. I listened to Logitech's Z2300 at an in store display & thought they sounded horrible. I had the razer mako 2.1 & they did sound awesome, but mine died after one days use & unless they're on sale for $199, the price is not worth it. These Klipsch are by far the best bang for the buck in this price range. Music sounds great & movies sound even better, I haven't tried gaming yet. The only drawback so far is that there is no on/off switch! Unless you unplug them or have them on a power bar you can switch off, there no way to turn them off! The bright green light on the satellite speaker shines constantly. This is especially annoying at night... I don't understand why the most basic option of being able to turn them off easily has been left out. Other than that they are great speakers

Comment:
these speakers are amazing... for people that like a loud bass you will not be disappointed. but its not just that, even the sound coming from the 2 sattelites is incredible, you here every bit of the music and some extra sounds that you probably would not hear on other speakers. These speakers have amazing sound and even though they are a little more expensive than some other speakers on the market, it is well worth it.

Cons:no tremble, on/off switch behind sub

Pros:Awesome BASS
Comment:
I got 3 of these babies hooked up to my PC including JBL Creature II 2.1 as centre speaker. The bass is excellent when all 4 sets of speakers are powered on. I hooked up the speakers to the HT Omega Claro+ 7.1CH sound card. I just love the sound when watching anime, movies, etc... :)I was using the onboard soundcard on the Asus A8N SLI Premium mobo, but the bass was weak for the subs. After changing to the Claro+ card I get the full potential of the bass. Although using the onboard soundcard I get true 8.4 Ch setup. Using the Claro switch the supposedly 8.4 to 7.4 Channel.I got mine for 100 each pair which is an excellent deal I tell u. I've been using these speakers for like 3 months. They are awesome... I hope I won't go deaf anytime soon.. will miss the great bass.

I was shopping around for a good set of speakers so I could crank some tunes at a party, and I came across these. Initially what attracted me was the price, I haven't seen anything cheaper, with as many features and with as good a reputation as the Logitecs. A good reliable brand, went to the store, and there was really only one speaker set that was better, and that was twice as much. Awesome speakers, sound quality is amazing, ample number of speakers to fill any room you have with sound, doesn't distort at high volumes or frequencies. The only negatives about this product is that there is no control for the treble...but that doesn't really matter because if there was, then I could honestly say that there would be WAAAY too much bass. Easy to install, you don't even need the book, if you can match colours, then you're good to go. All in all, a great product with great value, now I just have to see how long it lasts..I just bought it today btw. Oh and the speakers are wall mountable or you can just have them on your desk...which is pretty cool I think

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:- Inconvenient placement of power switch- Quality of miniplug connection to satellites

Pros:- Excellent sound (especially for this price range)- Bass is powerful, if you like that sort of thing
Comment:
I'm not a hardcore audiophile... but I listen to a lot of ambient/space-type music that has a wide range of frequencies and sounds. I bought these speakers to replace my 10-year-old Aiwa 5.1 shelf stereo system in the living room, and all I can say is, WOW! I can now hear all sorts of subtleties in music that I never heard before -- even though my old system was 5.1 and this is 2.1.However, I'm only giving this product four stars -- the power switch is buried on the back of the subwoofer, which is terribly inconvenient. I placed the set on top of my living room's wall unit, so to switch it off I have to climb up a bit and reach behind the sub. Very annoying. (I'm a nut about conserving electricity, so I would feel guilty leaving them on 24/7 when they're not being used.) I wish they had placed the power switch on one of the satellites instead.I hope these speakers last me a long time... but I would definitely buy another set of Klipsch speakers again, once the time comes. Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS
Cons:- Cheap 22 gauge speaker wire. Upgrade them if you can - Don’t like the connection at the satellites is via a 3.5 mm (1/8") mono minijack connection. They make a crakly static sound when gently touched- The connection to the sub via the DIN plug has been well documented as a weak point.-Placement of the power switch

Pros:- Best 2.1 speaker system for a computer period- Great bang for the buck while on sale (can be found as cheap as $99 bucks on sale)- The addition of a tweeter in the satellites provides a better overall sound IMHO- Totally agree with all of the other positive reviews as well.
Comment:
Well I’ve owned these speakers for over a year now and have to say that yes that they are indeed awesome hooked up to a Auzentech X-Plosion sound card.Personally, I’ve had no problems with them after a year of ownership. I do baby them, make sure that the DIN plug does not get knocked around at all. I’m looking into replacing the speaker wires that go from the sub to the two satellites. Despite a few of my gripes, if you can get them on sale I’d highly recommend them.On a side note; I have found that most people who get really pissed when these or the old PM 5.1’s break is because they loved the sound of these speakers so much. Check out the Klipsch forums on how people are fixing there broken DIN plugs themselves or sending there 5.1 amps to a guy on ebay who fixes them better than new. To me that says a lot about the sound these Klipsch computer speakers pump out. Owners of these speakers tend not to give up on them. I mean why bother with these if they break when they could just simply throw them out. Again says a lot about these speakers. Cons:reg price is a little too highflexibility (lack of, because only analog inputs are availible)

Pros:rich mids, crisp highs and tight and non distorted lowsgreat sounding, comparable to a mid fi system...
Comment:
Overall, this setup is well worth it, even at reg price, but even better if you get it for a lower price. Definitely the best 2.1 speakers set you can get for the price.. and would definitely be comparable to lets say a setup using a receiver and speakers that costs $1000... at more than $1000 of course those dedicated setups would be better, and you would definitely want those in the lviign room, but for inside a bedroom, these speakers can definitely give any sound system lower than $1000 for a run for the money, especially when u combine these with a great soundcard. I personally have the Sondigo Inferno 7.1 PCI sound card with these and they just sound awesome.. ive also tried comparing these to the x230 and theres jsut no competition.. and dont try using onboard soundcard with these.. u will just waste these speakers....

What a pair of THX speakers! Weight of speakers = Better sound quality. True again. Was able to hear sounds that was never heard previously using another brand of speakers. Song was an MP3! Amazing! Crisp mid to high range. Good bass if you need it. Had to turn it low so not to get the unexpected boom when I am working in a quiet environment.

Cons:Set upBad spot for on/off switch

Pros:Klipsch build qualityexcellent bass from sub
Comment:
These are top notch sounding 2:1 speakers! The bass is fantastic, and the sound from the satellites are close to my other Klipsch speakers I have. The wiring for these speakers could be improved, as it seems kind of dated with their setup. My biggest issue is the spot for the on/off switch, it's buried at the back and bottom of the sub, making it a pain to turn power on/off. Why they don't have the power switch on the satellite is beyond me. It's all about the sound that would make get another set of klipsch speakers.

Comment:
I purchased these speakers after "wanting" to buy them for a few years now. Everyone raves about the great sound quality and the Klipsch name, so finally I broke down and bought a pair, as my outgoing Altec Lansing ADA880's were nearing 8 years old.Truthfully I'm very disappointed by these speakers. The sound quality is "average" in my opinion. I can only imagine that a lot of people out there equate "lots of bass" with sound quality, when in reality the two are not the same.If you like a ton of bass, and don't care about actual speaker clarity, then these might just do the job. Using wood for the subwoofer construction, you'll get good low-range reproduction. There is no on/off button on the speakers, so if you need to actually turn these off, or want to for environmental reasons, you have to turn them off at the back of the subwoofer, which, depending on your setup, could be a big pain in the butt.I regret not trying to find somewhere to listen to these in person first. Had I known what the result was going to be, I would have stuck with my ADA880's a while longer, even with them being white, stained, but unfortunately I had already given them away days before these showed up.I'm tempted to give the thicker gauge speaker wiring a try and see if it actually improves the sound quality, but I have a feeling it might not rescue these speakers.
