LIAN LI PC-9F Black Computer Case
Comment:
This is a incredibly effectively built case -- sturdy, solid, desirable with no trying to be flashy, and really quiet. The only factor I can hear operating is my HDD, and I left the stock case fans in. Great airflow as properly. The case incorporates a PCI slot cover with a hole in it with a rubber surround to enable you to run the USB3. best connections out the back of your case and in to the USB3. ports on the motherboard, given that at the time of purchase (and of this writing) no mobo that I know of has onboard 3. yet. Sounds like a 'there I fixed it thing' but it was believed out and performs quite effectively. None This is a fantastic case this is the finest case I've ever bought in this value variety, and I've owned numerous. Incredibly content with my buy.

-Nearly all parts are high top quality aluminum, and all external components are anodized. -Lian Li has really high top quality control and tight manufacturing tolerances-Fantastic dampening; all HDDs mounts and the PSU are buffered by rubber grommets or pads; helps with noise.-Ease of access and excellent cable management. -Fantastic airflow The internals of the IO panel on the top are incredibly clunky. rather of a few small wires for a MB / USB pin header interface there are these massive thick female USB cords that are two.five' long. They can be adapted to fit the pin header with One more cord. Lian Li's style is typically so elegant, what had been they thinking right here!?For shame... I had half a thoughts to lop it off and rewire it properly. I mentioned excellent airflow, but I did replace the three stock 120 mm fans with scythe slip streams. There are two ~.five" holes covered with rubber pass-thrus which could be utilised for liquid coolant lines.

Perfect case for these not hunting for a fancy gaming case. Fantastic building and functionality. Filters on fans readily cleaned The top rated mounted audio connector is flimsy or just undesirable on my case. I have to wiggle the headphone plug to get a high quality connection and if it moves a bit you are back to mono sound. Why make such a good quality case and go affordable on the connections?

Aluminium materials tends to make the situation incredibly light and hard. Plentiful holes in the bottom and proper side for cables and zip ties, and optional cable clips for the prime and bottom. The lower drive cage is entirely removable if you don't need to have that numerous three.5" trays. I place my platter HDD in one particular of the 5.25" bays and zip-tied my SSD underneath; it's inelegant but worth it for clear airflow. The situation is extremely roomy (especially with no the drive bay) and wide adequate to accommodate almost all CPU coolers. There's also holes in the back for liquid cooling systems.I utilised the 140mm best slot as an exhaust because I like running with unfavorable pressure. The intake grills do come with filters so you won't have to dust each and every day. I replaced the stock fans with Xigmateks immediately after the first couple of test boots, but they're quiet and appear serviceable if you don't need to have that much air moved. As a evaluation beneath stated, you'll want to examine the length of your motherboard energy cords. I didn't have any troubles with my 20-pin, but my 4-pin had to awkwardly rest on the video card mainly because it didn't have the length to go behind the motherboard. But that goes for all bottom-mounted situation configurations.USB three pass-by way of is needed appropriate now due to the fact there aren't but motherboards with internal USB 3, but I wish they'd have included an choice to use internal pins for when they become readily available (the adapter is only USB2).No two.five rails if you have an SSD. But hell, it's an SSD, you could leave it dangling in the air if you wanted. These cons are all just quibbles and factors to be conscious of. If you're like me and want a neat black slab as an alternative of a garish riced-out monstrosity, this is the next logical step up from the sub-贄 Antecs in terms of value.

Fantastic situation, aluminum, virtually completely toolless (you actually likely could create it all with out tools, but it's much easier/more secure to use a screwdriver). The tricky drive cage is interesting, I hadn't seen this type just before, but I also haven't built a personal computer in awhile (you place screws/rubber washers on the drive Before you attach it to the cage, then you slide the drive into the cage, and screw a faceplate in shut). There was a lot of space to function with, the fans are effectively-placed and maintain the case cool (two front fans, one particular rear fan, cutout for the bottom-mounted PSU's fan, and an optional (not included) top case fan). The front panel connections are a tiny weird. The front panel has two USB three. connections, audio, and eSATA. The connections for these ports to the motherboard are a bit weird, specifically the USB 3.. The connectors end in typical USB male heads, which my motherboard (and I assume most other people) don't assistance. It does supply an adapter from USB 3. male to the far more common USB 2. pin connectors that motherboards have. The other point is, since I had no use for these front connectors, I just left them hanging inside my case, because I couldn't come across an obvious way to tuck them anywhere (I was worried about obstructing airflow if I left it attached to the prime, the way they came). General, this is a actually wonderful case, despite the slight inconvenience that the cables proved, and ultimately, it's not that significantly of a major deal. It's slightly on the high-priced side, but it does provide a lot of nice characteristics.

LIAN LI PC-9F Black Computer Case
Cons:- Not the easiest case to build in- Not too much room for cable routing on the back side- Some Lian Li signature features are missing

Pros:+ Beautiful, straight lines. Professional looking+ Very lightweight due to 100% aluminum+ Included stock fans are quiet+ Dust filters for the power supply intake and the front intake+ USB 3.0 on the top panel. USB 3.0 plugs in through a motherboard header rather than a pair of USB cables. Includes a USB 3.0 -> USB 2.0 header adapter.+ E-SATA port at the top.+ Low price compared to other aluminum cases of similar style
Comment:
This is a fantastic case for the price. The stock fans are very quiet. Very beautiful case - pictures don't do justice. This case is actually a little smaller than I thought it would be, and it was difficult to route cables through the back side especially since I have my hard drives mounted with the SATA/power cables on the (cramped) back side. Some of the Lian Li features that are absent on this case include: tool-less expansion port (PCI/PCI-E) clamp locks and the tool-less PSU clamp lock. But seeing how this case is around $40 less than the PC-8FIB, the absence of these features are justified. For future buyers that haven't worked in aluminum cases before, be extra careful when assembling it or else you might scratch the aluminum!

SOLID case. Surprisingly a lot nicer than I anticipated. I expected good quality and got the cream of the crop. Comes with a bunch of little accessories such as a mesh screen for the best fan slot. The latches that hold the optical drive in location are kinda flimsy but perform nonetheless. Good case for the money. Has all the bells and whistles of a modern day case.

Comment:
This is by far the finest case I have ever worked in. From the outside it has a classy, simple appear, without all the affordable gaudiness of other common instances. The inside is spacious with no sharp edges, and the create top quality is remarkable. Each side panels and the top panel can be removed, as well as the front panel, which I identified was much easier to develop in. The motherboard tray has cable routing holes, which I located very useful, as well as optional cable management on the 'floor' of the case, for extra PSU cables. I promptly swapped the stock front fans for GentleTyphoons, so I can not comment on stock airflow, though mine is superb. The fan filters on the front and bottom of the case are a plus as nicely. I have only had it a week, but my roommates nevertheless comment on how clean and sick it looks. Black finish attracts fingerprints. No removable motherboard tray. Power/reset/led cables are too short to route by way of cable management holes. On the other hand, these cons are totally minor and would not stop me from obtaining a different of this same case. I debated for a extended time over which case to get for my new build, and I am quite glad I went with this 1. I was concerned that airflow would be an problem, but with some GentleTyphoons in the front and on my Hyper212+ heatsink, I am acquiring excellent flow: ㅕC in Phenom II 965 and ~ 34C in Gigabyte 6850 idle, ㅠC in CPU and ㅯC in GPU below load (gaming). The value put me slightly over my budget, but this case was nicely worth it. If you are on the fence about this case, my advice is to certainly get it, or at least some other Lian Li.

Cons:-motherboard backplate cutout useless for my Asus Z68 motherboard-no place to put my SSD, even with the 3.5in adapter that came with it

Pros:-top mounted usb 3.0 / sound / esata / power button-light aluminium casing-bottom mounted PSU-simple but modern design-build quality
Comment:
Overall, a very good case: lightweight, aluminium, nice design. Bought a Vertex 3 60GB SSD and didn't have a place to screw into the hard drive bays because the adapter that came with the SSD isn't compatible with the hard drive thumbscrews that came with the case.Otherwise, great case and would definitely recommend it for whoever always wanted a Lian Li case but didn't think they could afford one.

Comment:
Definitely, minimalistic clean looks, quite nice too appear at.Tons of fantastic tool less capabilities that for the most component work good (see below). The holes around the motherboard tray for cable mounting are particularly great and actually make it straightforward to route the cables specifically exactly where you want them for a super clean effective layout.Wonderful air flow with two 120mm intakes and 1 120 exhaust plus the PSU will give you slightly positive air pressure. And you can't tell from the pics and I don't think it its listed as a feature but there is dust filters on the intake fans and they are quite simply accessible (nice!).USB, audio, and eSATA ports are on the best of the case.6 3.five internal drives and 3 five.25 bays is the suitable balance nearly nobody needs far more than three 5.25 bays these days. Not several but here it goes.Having the motherboard in a conventional orientation and the PSU on the bottom means you have long runs to reach the 24 pin ATX connector and 4Ǟ pin 12v CPU connector. With my PC Energy & Cooling Silencer 鶲 watt) I was way short with the 4 pin 12v cable and just a bit on the 24 pin. Needless to say I ordered extension cables so maintain that in mind. The front filters on mine didn't really fit up flush with the internal baffle. They were a bit big which brought on them bow out leaving a smaller gap which will let in a bit of dust.I would prefer the energy and HD access LEDs be on the front of the case not the best. The tool-much less method for the five.25 drive didn't work with the LG drive I decide on in combination with a AL Lian Li five.25 optical drive cover. All the PCI brackets are ventilated which doesn't make significantly sense. You genuinely only want the one bracket closest to the GPU HS/F to have ventilation, the rest ought to be solid. Just keep in mind where the PSU is in the case in relation to exactly where the AXT energy connectors are and either opt for your PSU accordingly or have extension cables ready to go.

- This is my 2nd Lian Li case and both have great fit and finish, inside and out.- Plenty of room, sturdy aluminum frame allows you to eliminate each sides, front and top when assembling - generating cable mgmt and heatsink installation very simple.- Motherboard tray cutouts are nicely-placed for cable mgmt.- Slick tool-totally free installation for HDDs with rubber spacers that insulate case from vibrations and a vertical sliding "lock" that secures all 8 drive bays at when.- Black monolithic appearance might trigger important evolutionary event in human species. Not cons exactly, just factors that may possibly be better:- Ventilation is adequate, but not great - the HDD cage obstructs airflow from the front fans. - HDD cage is all one piece - two separate 4-drive cages would greater - not numerous people today need to have much more than 4 drives in a property PC.- Tool-no cost lever mechanism for ODD does not hold my Samsung Blu-Ray drive firmly in location - it required screws to maintain from vibrating. (I don't comprehend why Lian Li doesn't use the excellent HDD rubber mount design for ODD installation. I have a Lian Li PC-C33B HTPC case and the Blu-Ray drive buzzed like a cicada until I wedged a piece of felt between the drive and the front panel.- The case is 8.27in wide, but there's only about .5in for cable mgmt behind the MB tray. I would prefer about .25-.5in more room for cable routing. I only have 2 HDD's and 1 ODD installed and the cabling was obtaining a small cramped. Proper-angle SATA cables are important if you put the drives in socket-1st. - I was also thinking of the Corsair Obsidian 650D, which cost nearly 贄 more than this case after shipping. It has a similar clean look, is a small bit bigger in all dimensions with similar internal layout, but is heavy steel, not aluminum. It has side window, fan controller, hot-swappable HDD dock on best, grommeted cable pass-throughs, and front and top 200mm fans - all good characteristics, but together not worth an additional 贄 IMO.- Thinking of the only tool required to assemble a laptop or computer these days is a Š phillips screwdriver, I don't truly see the large appeal of a "tool-no cost" styles, particularly if it entails merely replacing common screws with thumbscrews. A screwdriver is simpler to use than thumbscrews.- The 24-pin ATX and 8-pin CPU cables on my Rosewill Green PSU had been just specifically lengthy sufficient to route behind the motherboard tray and through the proper cutouts to the MB.

Attention to details are just wonderful. "You get what you pay for" is a prime example of this case. I upgraded from an Antec 300 case and the difference is night and day. The construction, characteristics, high quality, and craftsmanship is 10ቦ. The anodized surface seems really fragile and appears to scratch effortlessly. I am worried that the best mount USB ports will get scratched over time by poor USB aim. This is the finest case I have ever owned or seen in individual.
