LINKSYS USB300M USB Ethernet Adapter
Cons:Does not have a very long cable

Pros:Works in conjunction with a USB OTG cable to allow me to use my Samsung Note Pro Tablet on Ethernet.
Comment:
Works great. Plugged this into my USB OTG cable and my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 saw the network right away. Was able to download at 5MB/s (megabytes per second not megabits), so it is within range of my normal download speeds.First impressions are very positive.

LINKSYS USB300M USB Ethernet Adapter
Cons:Cable on USB connector a bit light - could break with a lot of flexing

Pros:Just works with RHEL/Centos 6 and Windows 7
Comment:
These things work great. A simple way to add a 100MB Ethernet connection to your Linux of Windows platform. I have heard they also work with Android devices, but haven't try for myself.

LINKSYS USB300M USB Ethernet Adapter
Cons:The blue LED is a bit annoying.

Pros:It works on Linux, Mac and PC. Even the Wii.
Comment:
I use this for multiple devices / platforms. It works as advertised. Lower spec'd hardware like netbooks may be throughput challenged. I took some electrical tape to cover the LED.

LINKSYS USB300M USB Ethernet Adapter
Cons:Warming. Speed depends on CPU

Pros:Small. Good quality
Comment:
I purchased this to have a second network interface where/when I'll need it. On my i7 and i5, speed gets close to 80Mbps, while on my Atom, it's only 25Mbps. On the built-in Atom's network adaptor I get almost 90Mbps. So, this explains that this USB adapter uses CPU. I also realised that it becomes hot even if a network cable isn't plugged into it (only USB).

LINKSYS USB300M USB Ethernet Adapter
Cons:Somewhat power hungry

Pros:Works reliably on Linux
Comment:
I'm happy that this has worked flawlessly with standard open source Linux drivers ("asix", it seems). I'm only using it for connecting to the internet, though (5 mbps), so if there were any issues with more traffic, I wouldn't know about it.It's getting quite warm, especially in summer, about the same as a 3G usb stick I'm using on a laptop, so I guess the power usage will be about the same, too, which is 2-2.5 W for the latter (but then I wouldn't know of a use case where this were a problem, and I can't compare to other usb ethernet adapters as I've never owned any).

LINKSYS USB300M USB Ethernet Adapter
Cons: price

Pros: compatibility
Comment:
Maybe because it is brand-name it is a bit higher price than it should be, not the best deal but there isn't a lot to choose from for Ethernet USB adapters (NCIX or elsewhere). As far as a network adapter goes, this thing works just fine as you would expect, no surprises.Aesthetically this is a pretty typical shiny black dongle. It has a smart design of tucking the 4-5" cord away underneath itself and plugging up the USB connector and Ethernet jack for protection at the same time, as long as you don't lose the clip which accomplishes that. There's a green LED for link/activity.One could argue against the 4-5" cord and having it just a jack attached to the USB connector against your computer, more like a WiFi adapter usually looks. I'm guessing they went against that route because bulky Ethernet cables would be rough to manage on the side of a laptop. I remember having a PC card sticking out the side and an Ethernet jack on that, it wasn't the best (though with PC cards I also had the type that had a dongle and the connector was terribly easy to break because it was so thin for a type II).Of course it'll be fine on Windows, it also works with OS X. I wanted compatibility with Linux mainly. Though it is not advertised this works with Ubuntu 10.10 out of the box with the "asix" module, no problems. It shows up as "ASIX AX88772 USB 2.0 Ethernet", ID 0B95:7720.

LINKSYS USB300M USB Ethernet Adapter
Cons:It doesn't come in white :P which is fine if you own the Black Wii or are using it for other uses.

Pros:Trusted Name Brand, Stylish Design, Cheaper and Smaller then the Official Wii Lan Adapter.
Comment:
Not only did this surprise me by working with the Nintendo Wii, But Linksys even has a guide on their site telling you how to configure it on your Wii!I grabbed this for playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reflex and it's a big improvement from using WiFi.

Nice but....
Comment:
It worked fine, but the cd included within th epackage was a blank CD, I got to search the web for the OSX driver. And even then, it freezes my network ports with no apparent reason. I got to unplug it, and a couple days later it work back again... Kind of deceiving....

Great little adapter if you don't have any slots for a network card. If you are looking into a firewall, like SmoothWall, then this works with no problems!
