Does it's job, replaced another similar liteon after 2 1/2 years and hundreds of burns + hundreds of reads.

It worked wonderful until it died. Tiny belt broke on it after 1 year, it triggered yet another dilemma internally became unfix-able. I got a LG for Ű cheaper that seems far better, time will tell.

Quiet, fast, burns well. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. Does all I ask of it and doesn't whimper. None I'm conscious of. Simply because it's SATA, had a heck of a time finding the OS installed. Programs all look for PATA devices and BIOS (on this machine) won't "emulate" the PATA connection.Ultimately had to set up, temporarily, an old CD ROM drive I had laying around, then set up the OS. This is not Lite-On's fault, just a significant pain.

Silent, quickly, excellent seeking. Uncomplicated installation with up to date drivers offered. No difficulties with several linux distros. Have had a handful of coasters but could have been the media. Quite normal hardware. I anticipate it to operate well, install effortlessly in linux, Win 7, Vista and XP. It did not disappoint.

Inexpensive, dependable, quiet. If I have a buyer who wants an IDE drive replacement, this is the drive I use. none.

By no means had a disc burn fail. Burns quick, reads speedy. This drive is a bit louder than I would like it to be, therefore the -1 egg. I have owned one particular of these for over a year, and just purchased a second one for one more make.The noise isn't substantially of an challenge - who truly uses a DVD/CD drive for anything other than burning/ripping any longer? Most game and apps set up and then you place the disc away forever.

Looks good and functions with out any difficulties so far.I don't hear the drive as its playing, as other evaluations have reported, but then again I have a case with two 200mm fans going *shrug* None so far, works fine, is not that loud, but have to wait to see. So far so good. I have a different lite on drive and it hasn't offered me any issues and hopefully it never ever will.I will have to wait, as some other reviewers report troubles with their drive.

It works as promised and was cheep The tray seems very flimsy and has way far more movement than i would like. Each time i put a disk on it I get an image of it breaking the tray

Economical. It just works. none Sorry I can't be a lot more valuable, but it's just an optical drive. Excellent that I can\'t fault in any way. Not operation, speed, noise... nothing at all. 5 stars.

I like Lite-On drives!! They are low expense and final a lengthy time below heavy use and I use them in all my machines. None.

It appears good in my case It takes forever to speed up the drive, so ripping my audio can take as extended as 1 minute per track, with the 1st handful of tracks only ripping at two-4X or so. It also does not cache audio as reported by EAC. I only bought this drive due to the fact it was affordable and everybody advised I go with a SATA drive rather of reusing my old, perfectly great IDE drive. I miss my IDE drive -_-

Wonderful CD/DVD Burner, awesome efficiency. haven't had difficulty with any CDs, DVDs, or burning said media. Utilised heavily for a lengthy time. Went out following 4 years of getting it. No other DVD Drive has lasted me that extended. None Liteon has some amazing solutions and of course things wear down and break, this was one particular item where I used it that heavily I'm surprised it didn't break sooner.

Sata, low-cost, works. None. Genuinely, I only required it to install windows hassle-free. I in no way use optical drives anymore, but if you're like me and need a drive to JUST install windows/your principal os, this is a excellent choice.
