Better than D-Link
Comment:
Replaced D-Link due to constant 'freezes' and slow performance. Needed to reset constantly. Used an older Linksys I had lying around and it performed adequately enough until my new Ultra Range Plus Wireless N arrived. Totally thrilled with unit in appearance(although could be made to have smaller footprint and take up less space), and the increase in speed and distance is really a plus.

It works if you keep it cool
Comment:
So long as it's working as advertised, you can't beat the features for the money. That said, this thing will overheat on you and then stop working until reset. Keep some distance between it and any other hot object and keep it elevated with space underneath for ventilation. There are mods to install fans that solves the issue permanently. The Auto WIFI Channel is iffy, and you may need to manually cycle through all 11 until you find the best one. Mine is cool and functional and I love it.

WRT160N
Comment:
I'm happy with the performance especially wireless however, I can't figure out why the Access Restrictions module isn't always available or what I need to do to make it available. I used it, entered the MAC address. Now I can't find it to modify it.

Pretty Darn Good
Comment:
This router is easy to set up. and can handle a few computers at a time, dispite the box saying that it can't. if you want faster performance on multiple computers at a time though, go with the linksys wrt400n with dual band n. i upgraded to that. worth the extra money.

Lack of Support
Comment:
even when purchasing a refurbished unit, you expect the product to work. Unit not only did not work, it kept disconnecting from DSL. Cisco was absoulutly no help, only wanted to sell additional warrenty time. Result: I will never purchase another Cisco product. The router i bought will be smashed and trashed.

Great Router
Comment:
Purchased this router approx . 1 month ago , works great , did not use disk to set up as it is quite easy to do without , just open IE and type its IP address . Have not played around with too many settings as I don't really understand most of them , just set up a wireless network with WEP security and that was it . Had a Linksys prior this one and it still works great , just wanted to upgrade , had nothing but problems with Dlink as did a friend of mine which is why I went to Linksys and the fact that my previous router had 2 antennas and was an excellent deal .

Not a good product
Comment:
Installation and setup easy. Disappointed Network Magic is only a trial- popup keeps reminding you to subscribe. Internet speed after install was equivalent to dialup- had to reboot laptop to get normal speed. Over the next two weeks, router had to be reset almost daily in order to use the internet at all. And even then the speeds were slow and very inconsistent. It was not an ISP issue because I could hardwire into the router and get cable modem speeds every time. Product performance is terrible. For reference, I ran to Staples and picked up a Netgear WNR2000 a week ago. Setup and installation took about the same time. I've had near cable modem speeds all the time and haven't had to reset or power cycle the router once.

Great Value!

Excellent product for the money! Purchased this product to replace my 2nd unreliable d-link wireless router. Very pleased. Range is excellent. Only warning is not to set your security to WPA. Originally set it this way and response time was extremely slow. Stepped the security down a notch and have had absolutely no issues.

Good for Internet, Bad for Network
Comment:
This router has been installed in my home for the last 6 months or so. I've liked Linksys for years and usually go back to their products. However, this router has an issue. The speed going from the wireless to an external connection is fine (I can get 1-2MBps), but anything that is being relayed back into my network peaks at about 800KBps, which is quite unacceptable. If this cant be fixed by a firmware update, soon, I'll probably have to swap out for another brand.

I love this, it's better than my Belkin. With this it was easy to install and has a lot better range than Belkin ever did. Would highly recommend it to every one!

Great Product and Price
Comment:
The router set up easily and works great. We use it for 4 PCs with Windows XP and one laptop with Vista. The wireless signal strength is great, we can pick it up in a separate building about 300' away, even if all the computers are signed on simultaneously. Note: We are using HIRO wireless PCI adapters, with long antenna, on the 4 PCs.

I received this router, installed the latest firmware and it wouldn't connect to anything. Strong signal but nothing. Changed the firmware to DD-WRT and now runs perfect.

I'M STILL LOOKING
Comment:
I had way to many problems with this router to name them all . Installation Disk BROKE my computer to start with ,they were way to busy selling Network Magic , which will shut down Windows Explorer when installing other programs in Windows 7 . 5 calls to tech service later , plus alot of extra research , now it works !!!!

Will not maintain connection
Comment:
I have had this router for 2 years and it drops the wireless connection SEVERAL times a day. I've looked into the issue and the company is very well aware of the issue through other users, but have no plans on issuing a solution. I'm looking for another router and it won't be Linksys.

Problems with multiple Xboxes
Comment:
This router works fine with PCs. However if you have multiple Xboxes this router is going to give you strict to moderate NATs as the Linksys implementation of UPNP appears to be buggy.

Disappointing for mixed client network
Comment:
Could only connect at 54Mbps so chatted with tech support. The only way you can connect higher than 54Mbps was Unsecure, or WPA2-AES. Finally got up to 144Mbps with great file swapping speeds between our two notebooks with WiFi N. My 802.11G computers don't have WPA2. The only way they could even see the SSID and connect was in this router's G mode only, or mixed B and G. That negated getting an N router! As for range, my G clients actually showed a weaker signal with this router than my old G WiFi router. This router was a waste of money giving only G performance unless I want to buy 3 new 802.11N adapters for my older clients.

I bought this router about a month ago, and I've have a bunch of problems. Many have to due with connectivity and broadcasting. Not a worthwhile buy.
