Linksys WRT160N Ultra Rangeplus 4 Port Wireless N MIMO Broadband Router
Cons:none so far

Pros:-works great with dd-wrt-increased range from my old wireless g router
Comment:
I didn't do much research into routers i just found one cheap and hoped it will work from my basement to the second floor and this router does the job well in comparison with my old router. Nothing to complain about under 30 dollars.

Linksys WRT160N Ultra Rangeplus 4 Port Wireless N MIMO Broadband Router
Cons: No Antenna

Pros: N SignalNice DesignNo Antenna
Comment:
I had this for more than a year and just bought 2 yesterday for my parents and my brother.Linksys router is pretty reliable and nice. I put pros and cons for not having an antenna. Basically, since it's sending out N signals you already have a good signal strength. However, since it doesnt have an antenna, you can make the signal one sided.

Good Router
Comment:
Once you figure it out that you have to connect it to a PC and go into the router setting and set it up it's a great Router at a great price, trying to just run the software is frusterating at best. Plug it in, shut off the automatic configuration set it up in the wireless section and away you go

Poor uptime
Comment:
I bought this router as a second access point in my home. I have it configured to only be a wireless access point. However, even with that minimal load, it locks up every 1-7 days, necessitating a power cycle to reboot it. Also have noticed that the speed slowly degrades over time before it locks up, so perhaps it just slows to 0 KBs I will not buy this brand again. Quality sucks, support sucks.

Works great.
Comment:
Just followed directions and installation was a breeze. I didn't accept the free trail security software. It been working fine ever since. This has been my second refurb'ed product from your company and both have never failed me and I saved $$$ too. FYI, I'm using Windows 7.

Buyer beware
Comment:
I bought a re-certified unit under year ago that just died. Buyer beware: you get what you pay for. Performance was average when it was working, though it would have some issues with connectivity sporadically. If you are okay with paying a low price and having to replace in a year or so then get this router. If not, spend the extra money for something lasting.

Doesn't live up to its billing
Comment:
Bought this router for its extended range capabilty however it doesn't extend the range any more than my old router. I will be forced to either upgrade to another router or use this as an extended access point off my existing network. I had hoped not to have to run another cat5.

works for a while
Comment:
I have gotten two of these recerts and both of them drop wireless speeds slowly over a several day span. The routing speeds are great compared to my old wrt54g, and I can get the full 66Mbps out of my D3 modem. The problem is with wireless connections. After a day or two the connection speeds drop to 24, then 10, 5, 2, 1 and then nothing. I found that if I set the radio to G then back to mixed, speeds recover for a day. Same if I turn the radio off and on, or reboot it. I would have tried DD-WRT, but that only supports G speeds.

Price, performance and features together!
Comment:
I got this and it outperforms the one I replaced, and I'm glad I upgraded. I like that it supports the new 'N' protocol as well as the 'G', 'B' and 'A'. Excellent buy!

Bummer!
Comment:
The router did not work out of the box. Made several attempts to program to no avail. Had to rush to the local Staples to purchase one at twice the cost which programmed on the first try. I guess the recertified process didn't work.

Great Router
Comment:
This is a very easy router to set up and works flawlessly. My computer is hard wired to the router but my wife's computer is connected wireless. Her computer is at the opposite end of the house and is just as fast on the internet as mine is. I would recommend this router to anyone wanting to go wireless but make sure you have an 'N' card in the computer.

Very Choppy
Comment:
The router is pretty choppy and it LOVES to drop me from time to time. It could be my network card but my roommate who is directly connected to the router has the same problems I have wirelessly.

Good product for DD-WRT use
Comment:
Bought a pair of these on sale to install DD-WRT. Was shipped V3 of the unit, so the DD-WRT install was easy. Now I have a wireless repeater bridge arrangement in the house, with full bars everywhere. Niiice!

Comment:
this is a great product really! easy set up for wired and wireless network with port forwarding and dmz and such and have restrictions that you don't want certain company to have access to your router or computers in the house. only negative i had was the quality of it considering it is refurbished.

great upgrade
Comment:
Got this refurb WRT160N to replace my older WRT110N and wow what an upgrade. Signal strength is double that of my WRT110N along with speed. No more dropped packets on N through 3 walls. My G laptop even farther away has great signal strength as well. Unit came looking like new and is working like a charm. It took a bit to realize how awesomely useful the MAC ADDRESS CLONING feature is considering my ISP wouldn't allow the new unit to get an IP from DHCP until I cloned the old WRT110N unit's MAC address. Appears to be a new feature on the WRT160N since it's not in the WRT110N interface.

Not Happy
Comment:
This is my first Linksys product. I purchased it to replace another router that I had for several years for two reasons: (1) The old one started dropping connections several times per day. (2) I wanted an N class router for faster connections. The Linksys solved problem 1. However it is slower and has less range than the old one. The wireless connection to my laptop in the next room 25 feet away dropped from 108Mbps to 54Mbps and the signal is low. The two computer upstairs about 60 feet away have a very low signal and pitiful a connection speed which is also lower than the old one. For the upstairs computers to connect, I had to elevate the router about 30'' off the desk. I plan to mount it to the wall but that will be an unsightly solution. The Linksys router is NOT recommended. Of course I may have had bad luck and got a lemon. From other reviews, I don't think so. However, it seems no company makes a great router anymore based on the reviews that I have read.
