Linksys WRT320N - 4-Port Wireless-N Broadband Router
Comment:
Good features, basic intuitive setup. By no means had a router that was this quick and simple to use. Took me talking to Linksys to get my DSL by way of the router using a double NAT simply because AT&T couldn't assistance me with out charging to reset my modem to bridge mode so that I could use PPPoE. Which really isn't Newegg or Linksys' fault. To expound upon an idea that the Linux users may well fear. Setting up the router is very easy employing linux (I run Ubuntu 9.04-ten.04 currently.) While those of us who use linux can't use the supplied automated setup undertaking it manually is no job of any fantastic difficulty (just keep in mind the default is 192.168.1.1 w/ default username and password of admin.) For any person running Mac or Windows you can opt to set it up manually and can use the supplied CD to make it a couple clicks to finish the install.

DD-WRT Compatible - Runs FOSS Firmware FlawlesslyTorrent downloads about 3MB/s (Cox Small business Internet)Smooth Glossy Style (Blue LEDs match Blue LEDs on my other machines) Not dual band! Can only use B/G ƒ.four GHz OR A/N 5 GHz)No USB support (Eh, who cares.)No external antennas. (Again, not a massive deal.) Functionality on a price range. Given that I'm a inexpensive college kid, this is excellent for my use. I run a small server off of my Business Internet connection and this router serves that goal with no issues.

Quite excellent router general, specifically immediately after changing the firmware. Has lots of capabilities and capabilities like manually assigning IP's by means of the router. Wireless would start dropping following 3 days and would need to have a reset, then once again following about three days, but I located a "fix". I didn't purchase it here. :( I decided to give DD-WRT a attempt on this router. Be warned, it will void your warranty, but it appears to be worth it. This is my 1st time putting in DD-WRT, and it's effortless to do. No wireless drops because then, and there are tons and tons of selections you can transform with it. Numerous that I'm not even confident what they are. You can even adjust the range the antenna goes. It's been perfectly dependable and quick given that.

Great look and easy set-up. Replaced my 'old' Linksys Wireless G router. Set-up DVD worked effectively and I had no issues finding this one particular hooked up. Range is not fantastic. This was to replace my old Linksys G router that had been installed for 5 years w/out a hick-up. This router provides me the exact same or a weaker signal than the old router I had. I had wanted to Dual-Band Router to work w/the 2 laptops and also my new Desk-leading. I wanted to get a much better signal then my previously outdated Router gave. This 1 doesn't look any far better than what I had. Could be I need to tinker w/the settings and drivers that came w/the Install DVD to get the greater signal and take advantage of this new Router.

I will be officially boycotting their merchandise and sending a newsletter to my consumers explaining why they should, as well.

Wireless N, gigabit ethernet, shiny situation, and compatible with DD-WRT and the TomatoUSB variant of the Tomato firmware Runs warmer that I'd like which has been typical of this situation design, and as usual, the linksys firmware is buggy and hard to use. I flashed it with Tomato fairly speedily following I got it, and considering that then, its been solid as a rock, and quite uncomplicated to use. Making use of the alternatives in tomato, I was in a position to lower the radio's broadcast power by about half (so that it doesn't extend beyond my apartment), and it hass run cooler due to the fact then.

Quite easy to setup. The LELA software program offered tends to make setting this router up a breeze. I use this router for two desktops (wired), two laptops (wireless), an iPhone, an iPod, and for VOIP, all operating at the exact same time with no troubles. It has decent wireless range. I wish it had exterior attennas.

Good signal, further then my parents D-Link, but not as far as I would have liked None that i can consider of, but I wish it reached additional. I had a lot of difficulty finding my Wii to hyperlink wirelessly to the router, but I ultimately got them to see eachother. No USB port for attached storage, but I knew that going into it (the WRT610 has it, but I chose not to go with that unit due to cost) Wish it had USB, but I can reside without having it

I was rather happy with this router. It worked out of the box and I had no problems overwriting the Linksys firmware with dd-wrt. Hold in mind this router is dual-band, but can only broadcast a single band at a time. Feels a bit chinsy.

-Gigabit-Dual Band-Great QoS setup-Net Interface Reboot (D-Link has had this forever..)-Excellent Range/Signal -Linksys-Not Simultaneous Dual Band Bought a WRT310N originally when I got wireless N on my laptop. Set it up all fine and all seemed to operate ok for the imply time. 2 months later it begins dropping connections and not permitting to reconnect without unplugging it to reboot (which when it's in a closet tucked away is no entertaining!). Known as to Linksys assistance, which is possibly the worst techincal support ever, ultimately soon after running via the loops with the guy he sents me an RMA for a new a single, so great. The new one particular came DOA... I was not pleased. Back on the phones for a couple hours and after being told numerous times that I can't swap for a diverse router they "put in a request to the supervisor" for a model exchange, a couple days later (and two far more hours on the telephone) they sent me the WRT320N and it is great. In no way has downtime :)

Solid, solid router. Setup was a flash. plugged it in and anything worked as expected. Config was blindly effortless. Advanced config was a breeze and it even provided me a lis of frequent ports to forward. Day two I hosted a five person skype meeting simultaneously with four VPN connections and it by no means blinked. Solid, solid routing. I don't like the appear. I preferred the "Johnny Number Five" appear of the old routers. Contact me old fashioned. If you want a rapid router that's going to sit there, manage information, and never give any issues, this 1's a champ.

nice look, brand name (used to have fantastic rep), high end(at time of purchase) drops wired connection randomly by way of out the day for split second to couple minutes (not lengthy adequate to bother the webrowser or e-mail reader but if you are operating server based software program it can get pretty annoying getting to restart the plan and redo your work) drops wireless connection randomly and does not automatically reconnect (need to disable wireless and reenable every single time) signal strength decreases as time passes (good strength when you power on personal computer but daily when you comein in the morning you will come across the wireless died overnight) Note: computer was 10-12’ from router with 1 wall in amongstswitched to older 12.5MBPS hawking router for the stability and peace of thoughts shop for reliability or lifetime warranty and read the user reviews ahead of you purchase, pleased hunting

I'm sure this factor is a good dhcp server, but that's not why I purchased it. I loaded dd-wrt on this in less than ten minutes right after unboxing it. At the time I caught it on sale, and couldn't resist the specs (head to head with a wet610n.....do the math). When you take into account a handful of design flaws, the only true troubles I've had had been user error in my network style. These days the only management accomplished is from the dhcp server. Has a hardware limitation in that you can only use these properly paired with a single SSID that a single getting off the default gateway (not daisy chaining repeaters off the newest SSID of the last repeater). No deductions although because my WGA600N does the similar point (currently retired from network duty). It can be completed but be ready to reboot once a device's lease runs out. My configuration is a WRT600N as the DHCP server.A WRT320N as a repeater off the 2.4 GHz band.An e2000 as a repeater off the five GHz band with a WGR614 cascaded and a WRT54G repeater off the WGR614.The repeaters run dd-wrt.I'm in a position to stream video wirelessly with my only limitations getting the harddrive cache and 2.four GHz band identified interference culprits.

At initially I truly liked this router. Presentable on my desk, Uncomplicated Connect Function and it seemed like almost everything I required. I repeatedly was getting disconnected soon after about a months time, and couldn't figure out why. Then came all the tests, Running the Desktop with the router, operating it with out the router, and so on and working with Linksys to come across the challenge. In the end, I replaced the router with a completely diverse brand. BTW, When doing a speed test now, my new router provides a consistant speed, with the Linksys I was down to about nothing or disconnected. I've had two Linksys routers and I'm sorry to say I will never ever get an additional one. Following the hours I spent attempting to figure out the issue with the WRT320N it just wasn't worth the hassle.

The 1gb network connection is wonderful. Aesthetics of the component are beyond compare. The 1st 1 I received was DOA. As soon as I plugged it in, the router got real hot, smelled funny and didn't even work. Right after a somewhat lengthy RMA procedure I received my replacement. Also was not happy about paying shipping to return the defective item...the nerve!

DD-WRT loaded and totally supports the hardware. WAN port can be joined to the LAN for an extra port. Dual band, not dual radio. You can run b/g/n or a, not each simultaneously. I am working with two, 1 as a Wireless bridge, the other as a wireless bridge. I use a second hidden SSID as a trunk connection. Clients seamlessly transition from 1 AP to the other. Syslog to a central server is a must to retain logs.

Setup fairly simple - software based rather than the usual world wide web explorer kind. Blistering speeds; finding 17Mb download on wireless n notebooks, slightly faster than 16Mb from a wired pc. Been employing for more than a month and not a single difficulty compared with my older Linksys that had to be rebooted every week or so. Only irritant was the router didnt want to configure correctly with my voip box, but got there at some point! Much more of a problem with the voip box i assume.

In fact operates. Can stream an .mpg to my PS3 that is 25 feet away with no stuttering, unlike the cr-aptacular D-LINK DIR-615 I tried ahead of. My iPhone will also connect reliably, once more, as opposed to the pathetic DIR-615. iPhone range is not that good, but I'm not sure no matter if to blame the iPhone or the router.

I reside in a building that has lots of concrete walls and had issues in the past with bad reception from my wireless devices.I will recommend this item to anyone that desires critical range power and quickly wireless N connection. 300mps(wireless) is wonderful and 1000mps wired is what you need to have.
