The usb receiver can be hidden within the mouse as to enhance the portability. I have not seen any problems and i recommend this product to anyone who would like a wireless mouse for their laptop

The new free scrolling mode is very cool and it's easy to return to normal scrolling mode with the little switch under the mouse. The mouse is also very comfortable to use, with make it one of my favorite Logitech mouses.

Accurate laser and amazing battery consumption. Comment: I previously owned a Logitech V400 and am so happy I stepped up to the VX. The laser was the biggest upsell for me, it has greater precision compared to most of Logitech's other laser mice and the contour makes it very comfortable and natural to hold. The many buttons pack a punch...they're everywhere and intuitive.Microgear is a great idea, and i like that you can adjust the scroll-wheel to fit your preference, however it kinda sounds broken if you should shake the mouse. Only other thing I would ask for in this product is higher quality contact sufrace on the underside and perhaps softer rubberized grip. That said, I still can't think of a better notebook mouse on the market. Well worth the investment.

I don't game at all so i cannot comment on how well it would work for that. But for general purpose surfing, word processing or spread sheet editing this is a great mouse. The free spin scroll is a neat feature. If you use large spread sheets or scroll through forums you will like this. I use it on spread sheets and giving the wheel a little flick gets me through pages very quickly. I've tried the mouse from over twenty feet away (line of site and behind cubicle walls) and it still works! Don't know why anybody would to do this but the mouse has great distance. Overall a great mouse and with a mail in rebate i only paid $30 for it. This makes it a great deal.

I have had some decent cordless notebook mice before but this one blows them away. The sale price of $50 got my attention and I am glad it did!

Good size for a notebook mouse. Also having the receiver slide into the mouse help when you need to take your mouse to another location. The choice to have a free-spining scroll wheel or the normal clicking scroll wheel helps if you need to scroll thru long pages.

DUN@NCIX Rating: Review Date: 12/04/06	Logitech VX Revolution Black RF Wireless Laser Mouse for Notebooks Cons:Expensive, inconsistent scrolling between different programs Pros:Free Spin Wheel, Ergonomic Design for Right handed users, 2.4GHz wireless, Programmable buttons with SetPoint software included Comment: I just bought this mouse for my laptop and I find it amazing, I really like the free spin wheel, I can scroll thru forums in seconds. When I need to, I can even change it back to the original "clicking" spin, where you scroll in chunks/ sections. I also like its far range reception and it's laser, I can use it on every surface. I even tried using on the clear plastic that I put on my glass desk. It still works amazingly well. This doesn't not work with an optical mouse. The receiver stores inside the mouse, which makes it great for travel. It only use one AA battery and it comes with a Duracell battery in the package. The only thing I find a problem is (other than the expensivness), the scroll wheel doesn't seem to be consistent between different programs. I don't know if it is the way I set it up, or it really is inconsistent. But this mouse is an excellent mouse one can have. At least to date.

Comment: Definitaly the best mouse I've had to date. I owned a logitech MX laser mouse before this one and there is definitely a difference. This new mouse has much better features like the redesigned scroll ball that lets me scroll quickly across a long document and gets the job done without any lag.

It is rather expensive but worth the price compared to other logitech notebook mouse (v200, v450). If you want the best notebook mouse this is it.
