Purchased mine as an "open box" unit on the cheep for ผ.99. Came in the original packaging with all the original components and instructions and it operates completely, what a deal! None I can find, nicely, it wasn't cost-free.

i haven't been capable to locate any windows vista was unable to find the files on the driver disk even with the file picked out for it. i followed the directions and also utilized the suggested internet site by the other evaluation and windows was unable to locate a correct driver for the pci card. i used a expert teck and he stated it is an offbeat firm that was designing the driver discs since of the format of the disc. he recommended i throw it away and go to a manufacturer that is superior known, the price tag difference was so little of a distinction that it wasnt worth the hassel u have to go by way of to install it specially due to the fact their own drivers don't perform for the system they are supost to work in.

Does exactly what its supposed to do. I needed some additional internal SATA ports 'cause I had broken 1 off my mother board. Discovered the drivers and installed itself just fine below Windows 7 64. This is wonderful since.... ....like lots of other people, my driver CD was cracked in half. Couldn't have occurred throughout shipping mainly because the box was undamaged. How can this come about? NewEgg did its usual terrific job. Thanks!

I've installed several distinct cards but could not get this one to work in my Mac Pro 2008. Installed Sil drivers from the website onto a clean set up and still couldn't get the card to recognize a drive. Not worth the difficulty. Suggest some thing that is a greater Mac-oriented company. Firmtek is high priced but they function, and Sonnet is less costly, and nevertheless very good. Didn't function.

Operates extremely effectively. Transfer rates involving 2 connected HDDs is commonly around 80MBps (when Windows is otherwise idle). None I replaced a PCI 1.5Gbps card with this 1. My old card would bring about windows to lock up each time I would try to play a DVD movie that needed "unlocking". My DVDRW is a Lite-on, and it appears to get along quite well with the new card. No lock-ups or something.Other reviewers stated that this card would only perform in RAID, and would not function with an optical drive. This is not so. I am capable to boot and set up Vista from my DVDRW connected to this card as although it were the integrated controller.Generally, I merely throw away any driver disk that comes with any hardware and use the updated drivers from the manufacturer's site, which is what I did here. No issues whatsoever. This card behaves each bit as effectively as my integrated card.Newegg rocks. UPS rocks. The finish.

Plugged into an readily available slot. Created havoc on my computer. Added a raid setup to my bios. I only wanted some expansion ports, not a raid card. I RMA'd this card. It cost a handful of $$, but the card was not for me.

Straightforward installation. I'm working with this with Fedora 13 and kernel 2.6.34. It works ideal. I had zero concerns, and no configuration was important. This will operate with any post 2.6.34 kernel for confident and probably earlier versions.I run 4x1TB in a RAID 6 array, 120GB SSD, and 2xDVD-RW drives. I was a small worried since the RAID array is split amongst mobo/MASSCOOL 3-to-1. The array was already configured with mdadm when I switched one particular drive to this expansion card. No problems, no configuration needed. mdadm picked up the drive, and hasn't had any sync concerns at all. It didn't come with SATA cables, but I wasn't expecting it. This card has flawless Linux compatibility. If there were going to be challenges, a RAID array would definitely locate them. Due to the fact installing this my workstation has been up for 67 days and 45 days on two occasions, so there's no sporadic issues either. After searching at various SATA expansion cards, I wasn't incredibly hopeful about top quality. None of them look to get great critiques. Most of the adverse testimonials right here have a tendency to concentrate on drivers or hardware troubles (i.e. DOA). Hardware is often going to be hit-or-miss, but with Linux, there's no want to deal with drivers at all. Hugely advisable.

Smaller, Cost productive, has external ports if you need them.Supports port multipliers in Linux.I'm employing this for further SATA ports in my linux primarily based unRAID file server. (see me on the forums if you need to have much more facts) The jumpers and documentation can be confusing.I had to bend the pins a little to get the jumpers tight. Though it may possibly look like this supports four ports. It only supports two ports. It is a mixture of internal OR external ports. You enable one or the other by means of jumpers.I have never applied this in Windows.

Functions as described. It would be good if all 4 ports have been functional alternatively of only two at a time. Not that it tends to make any distinction in function but mine was black alternatively of red. I guess this would be critical for somebody going for a specific colour scheme inside their Computer.

Low-cost. Worked on Windows 7 x64 without a hassle. Recognized quickly with no troubles. I'm kicking myself for not knowing much more about SATA PCI cards. It says four ports, and we're supposed to understand that doesn't imply 4 total ports. No, it implies there are 4 _possible_ ports. Only two can be active at one particular time. So, either the eSATA ports are turned on OR the two internal SATA ports are on. Bring on USB 3. due to the fact this bush league garbage is generating me sick. Also, notice how Every PCI SATA card has three stars? Go look, it's freaky.

It's smaller and kinda cute. Came with no install disk...thus I figured I wouldn't need to have one, and it would be a easy matter of installing.NOT the case...Windows (XP) wants drivers...there are NONE! I even used my "friend" Google (everyone tells me Google is my friend), and I can't discover drivers on the internet to download. Sitting in my hall closet awaiting the day I place it up on e***

Allows the added use of 2 sata drives total I anticipated all 4 connectors to be active but only 2 of the 4 can be active. The default was each internal connectors are active. So, when I initial connected an external drive I didn't realize why it was not operating. I guess 1 ought to study the documentation closely. I suspect the default setting is the explanation that some men and women claimed it didn't function, if they were connectiing external drives.

Card Operates good, Windows 7 64bit had drivers preloaded. Runs great especially for the cost. Had to move pins as card comes with only internal SATA ports enabled. One has to move pins over (all eight of them) to enable eSATA ports... Wonderful get for the price and Windows 7 Compatible.....Also their Buyer service is fantastic as well if you have any difficulties.

Performs completely properly under Windows 7, below Windows XP.Update your BIOS to 7.7.02 under XP's default tools, and install the Windows 7 drivers from SiliconImage.com's incredibly decent webpage. Appear for the SiI3132 - PCI Express Ƒx) to 2 Port SATA300 driver. This card is a really good answer due to the fact the ULI chipset on our motherboard was not supported. Also, I received prompt technical support from MASSCOOL! We had not initially figured out to update the BIOS very first. The SiliconImage Windows 7 driver assumed the most recent BIOS. None definitely. The card does have four connectors -- two internal and two external -- but only two can be active. There are a set of jumpers which route to either the internal or the external port. Read the circuit board, and it is fairly clear how to switch.

Operates perfectly with Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS (Linux 2.6.32-27-generic ෝ-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec two 00ᛛᚱ UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux (Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS)). Have no issues with the card. I didn't attempt the on-board RAID configuration, but it looks extremely complete. You can even rebuild the RAID from the card's RAID configuration screen (F4 in the course of boot time). none My motherboard doesn't see this card in my PCI-express x16 slot. That isn't a difficulty with the card, but a dilemma with my mobo. Also, make positive that you read the documentation to set the jumpers correctly. You have to set in reverse of how the card is shipped if you want to use the external ports. You cannot use both internal and external ports at the similar time. You can only use two at a time (either the internal a single or the external a single).

Following it was configured, appears to function well and do what I intended. Use it in Raid0 configuration. Was not recognized by Win 7 64 bit out of the box. Had to install driver (CD was broken in half just like other individuals). Downloaded the drivers off their internet web page (in rar format which I don't really like either). They installed with no problems. Didn't flash the BIOS, and had no issues with a RAID configuration.

Does what it's supposed to do. CD was broekn in half upon arrival, not that I truly needed it. Documentation is Extremely limited on this product. Support web page has all the downloads you want but very vague documentation. I purchased this to add a lot more sata ports and am using them for DVD writers. Make sure you install the "BASE" drivers and bios for this device and not the default RAID, if you strategy on only employing it for optical drives.I have win7 64-bit and device manager recognized the item but couldnt locate the right drivers. So immediately after attempting to install the "BASE" drivers, I just tried installing the "RAID" drivers, then flashed the BIOS to the newest version and then installed the BASE drivers and it worked like a charm.
